Would David Foster be good for Celine again?

I know they worked together for so long... and he makes celine feel exhausted...

I know some of you hate him...

But ,C'mon ! the man is a living genius, look at Josh Groban, noel and awake are between the best seller and the most recognized albums of the year....

 

I like every song he produced for Celine, and her most recognized songs were his work... He knows her so well, and he knows how to get the power of her voice out....

 

I wonder if he would be good for Celine again... I mean he made her famous with his arrangements and production... what if songs like "a world to believe in" would have been put into his hands...

As for Josh Groban, it's a stepping stone for him (I would say he's still a newbie although he has been in the entertainment industry for 5 - 6 years already) compared to Celine who has achieved 5 grammys and sold 200 million albums worldwide.

I think David does bring out the best in her.

 

I was talkking to some people tonite about Celine and they were saying how songs like Taking Chances and Eyes on Me will not do well because they are not a patch on Think Twice.

 

I reckon Celine has tried the modern approach and to be honest nothing she will ever do will be groundbreaking she is too MOR - which I do love btw - I am a fan of commercial music and always will be. I reckon she should try something really different now or go back to a classic Celine album. I reckon radio would pick up a proper Celine dion ballad....they would probably breathe a sigh of relief that she was back to doing what she is known for.

 

Leona Lewis is number 1 still in the UK and that is a proper ballad. Alica Keys has a ballad out. Christina and Mariah have had ballad hits in recent years. I dont think they type of song matters it just needs to be a really AMAZINg song and Celine has not had a fantastically amazing song released as a single for some time. ANDHC was the last one and that was very gentle for radio.

David is very talented at what he does, but he only does one thing; big sweeping ballads. Thats why he was a perfect choice for Josh to do his Christmas album. I think if Celine stayed with him she'd be doing TPOL and TYLM over and over again. Not to say the songs wouldn't be beautiful, but I think every artist wants to move foward with their music.

Seriously, is there anything MORE that David can do for Celine? There are a lot of classy and talented producers out there who have never worked with Celine but CAN come up with something great with her.

Look..what he did to Nelly Furtado, Keri Wilson, and One Republic's careers. Not to mention his collaboration with Justin Timberlake, Janet Jackson, Pussycat Dolls which were all chart toppers.. I have always envisioned Celine recording an R & B Album which would also cater to the urban/black market (a bigger market than the adult contemporary). I'll always adore Celine's Halfway to Heaven, Nothing Broken But My Heart (from Celine's self-titled CD) and Love Doesn't Ask Why, Only One Road (from The Colour of My Love album). These were tracks which had R & B flavour to it...and Celine sounded pretty good and able singing them. So why not Celine recording an R & B album next...possibly collaborating with the likes of Kenneth Reid Babyface, Brian McKnight, R Kelly (again), and, of course, Timbaland. Not a bad idea, i suppose.

oh please!!! it still an amazing album, and it was number one for the children music (i cant remember the name of this ranking) but anyway it was number 1 for almost a year, i love the miracle, the music industry is not the same as before, it doeznt mean it is a bad album if it is not the number one,

I don't think Celine should release an R & B album.But it's good to try some.There are still some R & B songs that fit Celine.I'm your angel is still a good example.Babyface, Brian McKnight, R Kelly,Ne-Yo, ......are good choice,but the key to make a sucess album is not Hip-Pop and R & B.An album with whole R & B songs always make me feel sick.The most important thing I think is to collaborate good songwriter and get good song with different styles.

keep Walter Afanasieff,David Foster,Aldo Nova,Diane Warren,Peter Zizzo...

And try something new with Kara DioGuardi,Emanuel Kiriakou,Lindy Robbins,Lukasz Gottwald,Butch Walker,Evan Taubenfeld,The Matrix,John mayer,justin Timberlake,Desmond Child.....

 

I find some R & B songs that is good enough for Celine to try....

Such as No One,Superwoman from Alicia keys→I think these two songs are easy enough for Celine to handle.

I also Find a R & B song written by Kara

Of course Celine needs MORE success.1097 awards doesn't mean anything,cause awards giving doesn't have a objective standard.Many Divas always get many awards,so I seldom judge a singer by how many awards he/she gets.I prefer to judge the popularity of a singer by the selling figures.That's more reliable.

You're right. I should have said that he worked significantly less on Awake then on Josh's previous albums. And probably for the same reasons Celine stopped working with David. Because they want to branch out. Would Josh ever record something like Machine or Weeping if he only worked with David?

 

 

Seb, did Awake really perform that poorly? Its my favorite album of his. Mostly because Josh branched out with his music and recorded songs outside of David's forumla.

i think David can bring out the best in Celine´s voice she told her interviewer when she recorded Miracle back in 2004 that she and David were pals/Buddies he is one of her best friends and he wen´t to see her on the A New day final show on december 16th 2007.

 

Celine still wan´ts to work with David because of their friendship i really think if she didn´t have Réne Angelil in her life David would be her life partner her lover.

But that is my thought because i´ve seen how he looks at her, how he talks about her and so on.. he really cares for Celine.
