bratboi Posted December 24, 2007 at 11:16 PM Posted December 24, 2007 at 11:16 PM The Police began their world tour 21 years after their last major concert. Reunited rock group The Police had the highest-earning music tour in North America in 2007, official figures show. The band's 54 gigs in the US and Canada generated $131.9m (£66.5m), almost double the total of the second-placed act, country star Kenny Chesney. Justin Timberlake was in third position, followed by Celine Dion and then Van Halen, another group which got back together to tour this year. The totals were compiled by American trade publication Pollstar. Country couple Tim McGraw and Faith Hill were in sixth position in 2007, while veteran acts Rod Stewart and Genesis made seventh and eighth places respectively. Completing the top 10 were young vocalist Josh Groban and Grammy-winning country group Rascal Flatts. Pollstar also ranked the cost of going to see the biggest acts in the US and Canada over the past 12 months. It put Barry Manilow and Celine Dion at the top of that list. Both of those stars were charging, on average, $141 (£71) per ticket. HIGHEST-GROSSING TOURS 2007 1. The Police ($131.9m)2. Kenny Chesney ($71.1m)3. Justin Timberlake ($70.6m)4. Prince Whiskers Posted December 25, 2007 at 06:28 AM Posted December 25, 2007 at 06:28 AM The show earned about $400M in entirety. As far as I'm aware, only the Rolling Stones can boast of being above that record. Quote http://cdn.webecoist.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/modern-pet-solo-blown-glass.jpg

umary Posted December 26, 2007 at 05:30 AM Posted December 26, 2007 at 05:30 AM (edited) Saturday night, Dec 15, Celine Dion and cast took the stage for the final performance of A New Day…, the Las Vegas spectacular created by DRAGONE that has been seen by nearly 3 million fans since premiering in March 2003. The show’s landmark run at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas, grossed more than $400 million throughout 717 performances. At the end of the performance, Celine delivered special remarks to the audience, cast and crew, and took her final bow as the stage was showered by 100,000 rose petals. I was there and it was such a moving experience, Celine was just great MaryLas Vegas Edited December 26, 2007 at 05:31 AM by umary Quote NationalShowTickets.com Now In Over 100 Cities
