Bellamy Posted April 3, 2005 at 05:30 PM Posted April 3, 2005 at 05:30 PM Have you ever wondered how much Celine got from Titanic Soundtrack? here're some interesting facts:Titanic stayed afloat at number 23, after selling 10 million in the U.S. and 25 million worldwide, enriching composer James Horner by $37 million and diva Celine Dion by $7 million.http://www.forbes.com/forbes/1998/0921/6206230a.html so Celine got $7 million profit from Titanic Soundtrack alone, about $0.28 a record. compare to James Horner who got more for $1.42 a record + $1 million fee.James Horner Take: $37 million Cameron didn't want a pop song, but Horner, who also scored The Mask of Zorro, flew to Las Vegas to enlist pop star Celine Dion. Horner added about $1.42 a record to his estimated $1 million fee.http://www.forbes.com/forbes/1998/0921/6206221a.html Quote Please support the forum by ordering everything through our special Amazon.com link Click here. DjCeline Posted April 6, 2005 at 03:01 PM Posted April 6, 2005 at 03:01 PM well...lots of money... but anyway she deserves them. if it hadn't been for this beautiful song and most of all for her splendid performance...i don't know if titanic would have had the same impact...i heard MHWGO sang by another singer...and it sounded different. it didn't have the...feeling... zeesh100 Posted April 7, 2005 at 03:20 PM Posted April 7, 2005 at 03:20 PM I think its true that Titanic and celine were very good for each other business wise. Celine was already famous on the music scene and she definitely boosted sales of the film and soundtrack because of that one song. I think the film also boosted Celine as it pushed Celine into other music markets around the world, especially in asia Quote
