Elaine Posted December 10, 2007 at 07:24 PM Posted December 10, 2007 at 07:24 PM Hi guys!! I just can't express how much I'm happy!! After losing my connection in New York and arriving here later than I expected, I finally saw Celine live for the very first time! The show was a bit late and my anxiety grew every passing minute. Then, the camera started doing the usual zooming, and showing some very happy people that had drunk a little too much! They also showed people kissing and stuff like that! Then I heard the noise of glass and I knew it was finally starting! My dream was coming true. As she came down, my eyes fulled of tears, and when she was so close to me (CC is really close, I would never imagine that!) it was just impossible to let them out. My smile was bigger and stronger! I couldn't help but smiling the entire show. Me and 2 other guys who were sitting next to me were the only ones who stood up after each and every song, and I swear we tried to stay like that during River deep, mountain high but we had to realize only we 3 in the entire collesseum were doing that... When she stopped to talk the first time, she gave a speech about the end of the shows and how it was gonna be hard for her when it all was over. She also mentioned that she gets sad when people talk about her finishing her carreer in Vegas and then touring the world, but some choices have to be made. I almost cried again and I bet most people there did, but not for too long, as she completed the speech with "Shall we go for it!" Then, before she sang Taking chances, she just stopped and said " Usually I don't stop at this part of the show, but since we've got only 5 nights left and 5 is my lucky number, I guess I'll do whatever I want!" And then she performed Taking chances. I felt so good! At a time in the song she was singing it normally and then she looked at me for a while with my big smile on my face and singing and started smiling too! Is she wonderful or what? The time for Pour que tu m'aimes encore came. And she introduced it as usual, saying that the song was written by Jean Jacques Goldman and etc. Then, when she said that the song talks about loving everyone so much that you're willing to give your life for that person, someone who I`m guessing was in the mezzazine said "Yes, me" and everybody laughed. When Celine realized it had to do with her speech she just stopped and said "Are you my neighbor?" That was for sure a highlight! I used to think that this would be the point where I would cry because it's my favorite song, but I was so in awe that I didn't have time for tears! A surprise for me was the italian song. I don't really care for it, so I wasn't expecting that much. But when I saw that coreography, that was the look in my face -----> The note in I surrender sounded endless!! Just amazing!! And My heart will go on. A song that I don't like very much but which almost made me cry! She gave the rose to a little girl in front orch 3. Her parents cried a lot! And then I realized it was over. My first and maybe the last time seeing Celine so near was over. And now I'm in that shock state you all know so well! I'll go to the show on the 12th also, so then I'll let you know about how it went. How many people are already in Vegas?? My classes start today, but I'll take an afternoon course, so I'll have time to meet you only in the evening... Please let me know. Thanks for letting me share this moment with you xxx Elaine Quote http://img807.imageshack.us/img807/1352/opo3.jpg
KimboCosmo Posted December 11, 2007 at 06:11 AM Posted December 11, 2007 at 06:11 AM WOW Elaine...Your experience sounds a lot like mine was! I was there on the 29th of Nov, and it was amazing. She sang TC for us too! I cried and she gave the speech about her last shows...I was in row CC as well! Seat 401 Orch 4! That was my first time as well! I've already bought world tour tickets, so I'll be seeing her again, but I hate that I have to wait so long! Until Jan of 2009! She was very witty when I was there as well...so funny and made me laugh at everything she did...I love her cheesiness sooooo much! I'm so happy for you, and I still think about my experience every day even being back home. When I stop and think about it...it brings a smile to my face, every time! I love her so much! Glad you had fun! Quote http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/2765/48940711.png "You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep, because reality is finally better than your dreams." WendyB Posted December 11, 2007 at 08:34 AM Posted December 11, 2007 at 08:34 AM What a wonderful review - thank you for posting it. My one regret about the show is that Céline nearly always stuck to a "script". If only she'd been allowed to ad lib a bit more. If you get to see the show only once or twice then it doesn't really matter because it sounds fresh. I suppose they thought people wouldn't keep going back time and time again. If only they knew..... Shesings2me Posted December 11, 2007 at 09:00 AM Posted December 11, 2007 at 09:00 AM Elaine, I am so very happy for you. I had a very similar experience (except in the 2nd Mezz) on Dec 6th & 7th. I too cried a little when she first appeared as it is so special to finally be so close to the woman who holds our hearts in her vocal chords, LOL! Enjoy the next show and "stay well", T.
