Prince Whiskers Posted November 26, 2007 at 11:00 AM Posted November 26, 2007 at 11:00 AM I like her never-say-die attitude and her dedication to her game but there have been issues regarding her sportsmanship and diva tendencies. And I don't know about you but I find her father to be a bit on the creepy side. Quote http://cdn.webecoist.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/modern-pet-solo-blown-glass.jpg

stevethefan Posted November 26, 2007 at 11:15 PM Posted November 26, 2007 at 11:15 PM She is quite a handsome woman and she can really play tennis well. She kind of reminds me of Anna Kornakova although her tennis game has not been that good lately. Quote

Holding her hand up when somebody is about to serve and then denying she did it is the right thing to do. Not. I can't abide her. Are you still hooked onto the 2003 RG controversy. BTW she didn't accept nor deny it. The chair umpire never asked her, so she never said anything. If Serena wanted to go on with her allegations, she should have done it right then and there in the court and not after the match was over. PS. I don't wanna start the tennis controversy in a Celine forum so PEACE Maria S. might change dj4celine's territory? That's the most surreal statement supercat Manuel has ever encountered on the forum. Yeah? Really? Quote
Célinefull Posted November 27, 2007 at 11:53 AM Posted November 27, 2007 at 11:53 AM for starters, she's not attractive at all, but she really thinks she is, and she's a mediocre tennis player..as in people figured out her game and she really needs to learn how to play if she's going to come back. As a person, don't know her so I can't and wouldn't judge her, she seems nice enough though and I know she supports charity especially in Russia. Prince Whiskers Posted December 6, 2007 at 08:36 AM Author Posted December 6, 2007 at 08:36 AM Venus and Serena are maddening players to root for, I tell ya. They're so vulnerable to injuries and sloppy unforced errors. On the other hand, they truly are a sight to behold when their game is ON. I absolutely agree! too many unforced errors...too often injured. that's sad... because I like the way they are playing.. so powerful Quote

Prince Whiskers Posted December 7, 2007 at 06:54 AM Author Posted December 7, 2007 at 06:54 AM But it seems like the sisters have lost their ability to play their best consistently. Serena has sound techniques esp. on the serve but her persistent knee problems have been hampering her speed and court coverage which once enabled her to hit winners even from defensive positions. As for Venus, she gives herself very, very little margin for error bec. her hitting is so flat and hard (harder than any woman, in fact). She's unplayable at her best, but when she's having issues, those unforced errors pile up untidily. Well, let's see what the new year brings. Prince Whiskers Posted December 9, 2007 at 08:14 AM Author Posted December 9, 2007 at 08:14 AM Incognito, do you know what exactly caused the dizzy spells that Venus suffered during the Open? And while she might not have admitted it, I think Serena's knee bothered her althroughout the season. Quote http://cdn.webecoist.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/modern-pet-solo-blown-glass.jpg
bgcalde Posted December 9, 2007 at 07:37 PM Posted December 9, 2007 at 07:37 PM They both were playing really good (Venus and Serena), maybe not at their best (which we don't know for certain). The way I see it, is that we can all make excuses for everything, but what remains true is that Justine beat them both, and not for anything else that her talent. Moreover, experts were saying how venus was their favorite, obviously because she was playing great, but then it came justine. All I'm saying is that we have to focus on facts, not on what could have been, or why it didn't happen. BTW, both matches were unbelievable, maybe just behind the masters cup final between Henin and Sharapova. Quote
Prince Whiskers Posted December 10, 2007 at 07:22 AM Author Posted December 10, 2007 at 07:22 AM And who exactly is making excuses? You want us to focus on the fact? Well, the fact was that the sisters had more to contend with than just their opponent. Just bec. Ree's knee and Vee's dizziness got mentioned didn't mean that there was an attempt to water down juju's twin victories. What for? She did what she did and nothing can take that away from her.And there's no Masters Cup in the WTA tour. You were referring to the Madrid Championships.
