Celine's "air guitar"

Am I the only one who thinks it needs to stop? Not only has she returned with the air guitar on "Taking Chances," but she has added a new quirk: the "hand phone" during the "talk to me like lovers do" line.

 

Am I the only one here?

LOL I know what your talking about! She did the air phone at the awards the other night! Sometimes I'm ok with it, but sometimes it can be a little much... Especially when she does it OVER and OVER again. I STILL LOVE her though...that's Celine...we all love her cheesiness, that's what makes her CELINE! By the way, don't get me wrong... I'm not usually a fan of her type of music, so it's probably her crazy lunacy that makes me love her... but I often find myself yelling at the television for her to stop, haha.

The air guitar thing bugs me sometimes, but not always. I think it depends on how many times I see her doing it...and lately with all the TCH performances, I've seen it a lot.

I feel like the air guitar is not as bad as it could have been, lol. But I do NOT like the phone thing. The first time I saw her do it was at the Rockefellar xmas tree taping last week. It totally makes me cringe. Plus she's not even singing about talking on the phone!

Lol when she first started that a long time ago i was so like. wtf. but now it's really grown on me! plus she does it fairly subtly Remember when she used to do that thing where she hopped around in a circle waving one leg.. Lol. good memories.

People complain when she stands still at the mic and does nothing, "she appears tired, nervous, unsure of herself. etc" Then she gets into the song and does the stuff mentioned here and she shouldn't do that either. So what should she do then?

 

I like when she gets into the song and moves around, she seems to be varying up her moves, not the air guitar all the time, and not the phone thing either, I think it's great that she's switching it up a bit!

Yea she can hardly perform a song without feelin the guitare in it! Which makes her unique and non-diva, just simple and naive which is refreshing! But its kinda getting intense with the years and with a new edgy album.. forget about it its a air guitar party! lol

It's typical Celine. She always likes to have these little gestures involved in her performance or even when recording. She does a lot of this in the "Sessions" Taking Chances DVD> She also does this thing where she sometimes imitates the musical instruments with her voice which I find pretty funny.

My friend tried imitating Celine doing the air guitar in the bathroom once, and she smacked her hand on the table and it stayed hurting for awhile.

Oh noo. LOL. We were both rioting. She was doing a guitar thing and singing TC in the bathroom.

If you were there, you'd be on the floor! She laughs at me too. So, we even out.

i just love her when she comes up with new moves i mean sexy moves,like this part(and i'v had my heart beating down but i...................),she is very sexy in that part and especialy when she says (nothing like love to pull u up) with that move oh that was great,but she can invent somthing new than the air guitar i'm with u on that but u know what whats funny about celine is that she uses it since along time ago and no matter was the son i remember she used it alot in the time of a new day has come but i love her any way ,by the way we can post pic of her doing the air guitar and in it will last forever

I happen to find the air guitar less strange than some of the kickboxing moves she does with her legs during certain songs at A New Day (To Love You More for ex.) It's really harmless.

The phone thing is hilarious. She's doing sign language. She should figure out some signs for the rest: "jumping off the edge" (yes, want to see her stage diving) "don't know much about your world" (big round arm movement to draw the planet) "there's nothing like love to pull you up" (invisible cable hauling movement) etc.

Actually the phone thing is something I have seen her doing a lot lately. There are two clips on youtube where she uses a shoe as a phone and it's so funny. Yeah, she doesn't sing about talking on the phone when she does that move but think about all the silly things you do when you sing along your favorite song.

It's like Maria Carey always air-cleaning a mirror or a window when singing "Without You" - that was weird but everyone has those moves and I likes Celine's!!!

When I see myself going crazy in front of the mirror, I know I am not the only one.

We shoud give her a "real" guitar if we don't want to see those moves listed above...
