I just got back and I am still pumped :whee:. It was amazing. I was so utterly impressed with her performance. I was disappointed with the fact that I was surrounded by a bunch of old people who were so still. If I didn't see a slight movement every now and then I would have thought they were dead! I was dancing and bouncing in my seat. I thought it would break. I just couldn't keep still. I took some great pictures. I tried to capture everything and got scared when my camera said it was out of memory. I ended up deleting some of my family's Christmas pictures (my friend saved them to his computer before we left, thank God :xmaswhistling: ) I kept watching the people who were seated near the stage and thought to myself "How could they be still seated?" Some were moving about but they seemed so still. I so wish I could have been near the stage.

Oh man, I just don't know what to say. For me, the whole experience was indescribable. All I can say is that I am just so glad I came. :whee: :whee: :whee:

PS: I did hear a lot of the older people say that this concert was worth the wait and I definitely agree. Seeing it on Youtube doesn't really do the concert justice. Even though I kind of knew what was going to be happening, just being in her presence, hearing the music, hearing her voice was just aaaahhhhhh..... What else can I say.

PPS: It was sweet that she hugged the guy who gave her the flowers and layed on the floor to hug the young woman/girl (because she wasn't tall enough). Celine is just amazing. I don't care what anyone says. SHe is SIMPLY THE BEST!!!!

I agree with you. I just saw some videos of the concert and I can see what you are talking about. For example, during IDAN and TPOL when Celine was walking on the catwalks and singing right in front of the audiences, I was surprised by the number of people who sat motionless and barely even clapped. Whether a person wants to stand or dance or even sit in absolute shock is one thing, but some of these people were seated no more than 3-10 feet from Celine Dion and could have cared less. Just might have as well bought nosebleed seats or waited for the tour DVD and given more articulate fans the chance to be close to Celine!

Just my two cents I suppose.

 KC was amazing!!

Last night was the rescheduled show, at the Sprint Center, in Kansas City.

Worth every second of waiting (ordered my tickets the day after returning from seeing Celine in Vegas, in fall of 2007)! She sounded spectacular, of course. The visual production is even better then the Vegas show. For "My Heart Will Go On", she was surrounded by candles, and tiny beams of white light, from all over the arena. Stunning. She did an a cappella opening to "My Love".

During the pauses between phrases, the whole arena was completely still. If you've never experienced total silence in a room with 18,000 people, it's quite shocking! She also talked about how great it was to work with Linda Perry. Strangely, earlier in the evening, her opening act, Gordie Brown ( not the Prime Minister) had done an impresion of Linda getting a Brazilian wax (odd).

She even made a very contrite apology for having to postpone the show, from November. Totally unnecessary of course (except for those unable to attend the new date). Very moving. Not a dry in the house, I should think. She totally delivered evrything any of us could have wanted.

I can't think of anything that could make the experience better (except going to see her again, tonight). Thanx forever to Celine, and the 18,000 people who shared the evening with me!

It was so amazing! I had a great time meeting everyone! I was one in the 2nd row in floor 4. I was the only standing most of the time besides occasionally I got the one girl to stand and not until the end.

PICS to come later.

Going to watch videos now!

I have pictures that I tried uploading but it says I don't have permission to upload these types of files (they are jpeg). Some of them may not be that great but at least I have them. I had such a great time at the show. Driving home (8hrs), I was so down because I was sad that it was over. I wanted more.

She may not be the queen of living divas (Aretha Franklin and Tina Turner are working that one out), but Celine Dion is arguably as popular or successful as any of them.

Before she took the stage at Sprint Center on Saturday, a video montage showed footage of her playing to enormous crowds all over the planet -- crowds that looked 10 times as large as the Sprint Center crowd. Her legions of fans are fervid. And they are apparently patient, too.

Approximately 16,000 people showed up Saturday; and many had been holding their tickets since they went on sale in November 2007 -- a year in advance. The show was originally scheduled for Nov. 15 (two months ago) but was moved when Dion had some vocal malfunction that needed healing. No problem. The place was still nearly sold-out. What's 14 months when you haven't seen your favorite diva in almost 10 years?

I'll assume nearly all of those who showed up will say it was worth the wait and the money. (The men watching the Colts/Chargers game in the sports bar don't count.) The show lasted nearly two hours; it featured plenty of Vegas-style flash and glitz; it included most of Dion's best-known songs; and it showcased that grandiose voice, which is too big for the average basketball arena.

Her voice is the deal-sealer. She rips hefty, high and hard notes effortlessly and fluidly. And she carries the average melody flawlessly. There's not a lot of soul in her act, but there's plenty of muscle and energy.

Her dance moves are more amateur than not, although she rocked a few high-karate kicks, like David Lee Roth in "Jump." But most of the time when she busts a move, Dion looks like a teenage girl dancing like a rock chick in front of her bedroom mirror: some air guitar, some head-banging, lots of fist pumping. She's so un-self-conscious about it, it's all kind of refreshing and endearing.

Her ace up the sleeve is the way she connects with her fans, the way she tries to make herself one of "them" (my quotes). They wait on her every word, and they seem to take heart in everything she sings and says, especially the personal stuff.

She expressed some plain-talk regret for calling in sick in November. She talked about her 81-year-old mother, who is on tour with her, and her 8-year-old son, who is, too. She accepted floral donations from a few fans, and then kissed them all as a thank you. After the show, she walked through the crowd, shaking hands and saying howdy, like Barack Obama.

That voice and that personality sell the franchise, but they need music, too, and she picks songs that suit both: skyscraping anthems and tender ballads about love, loss and the power of life. Two of her songs had the word mountain in the title, which is appropriate. When she uncorks herself into a tidal wave (like "Love Moves Mountains") she can move a few tons of earth, too.

She brought with her a big band and backup singers and sexy dancers, who filled in when Dion disappeared beneath the stage for a wardrobe change. The stage was a "round," with two long runways that led to the seats on opposite sides of the arena. If you saw the Dixie Chicks at Kemper Arena in 2003, you would have recognized this setup.

The highlights? It's hard to say. "My Love," the Linda Perry song (not McCartney's) was nice. The rip-roaring version of Heart's "Alone" was good. And the first encore, "River Deep, Mountain High," was a bona-fide high-voltage dance/video extravaganza.

But as devoted as her fans are, they have turned her concerts into a spectator sport. I was on the floor, among the devotees who shelled out $150 per seat, and no one within five rows of me stood up until the very end, when she almost ordered them to. Instead, they sat, watched, admired, cheered and applauded -- even during the "soul medley," which included some snippets of James Brown, Chaka Khan, Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder.

The crowd did wake up at the end, when she played the big song: the gargantuan closing theme to the gargantuan romantic drama -- the "Gone With the Wind" of the 1990s. I saw her sing "My Heart With Go On" in 1999 at Kemper, and this time the response was just as cathartic and loud, as if it were the one moment everyone had been waiting for.

As one of the husbands that was just keeping his wife happy by going with her to the concert last night. I was very pleased with Celine's show even not being a huge fan she won me over from the very start. Fantastic show!!!

This comment to that review makes me giggle. Even husbands that don't really want to go in the first place end up enjoying themselves. Ah, the power of Celine.

The Wait Is Over?

OMG!!! I never thought I would get a moment with Celine in my life, let alone two!!!! So as I posted before, I got to meet Celine in Cleveland when she was leaving the venue.

Last night, I got to meet her again in Kansas City, same scenario. I was sitting in section F7 3rd row and halfway through MHWGO I headed over towards the aisle she would exit through (she entered by my side). I got near security and they told me I had to exit the other side of the venue! I walked around them through an aisle, said excuse me to at least 5 people and made by way to the very end of the aisle just before Celine walked by! I had a letter to give her about the relationship I am in and how her life and music is helping me through this difficult but amazing relationship and I was determined to give it to her. Just as she was in front of my I yelled her name and waved the letter at her. She took it and gave it to her body guard. Then I leaned forward and reached towards her. She gave me a big hug and I kissed her on the cheek and said "I love you" I think twice, and "thank you", to which she responded "your welcome". I held her for a pretty long time. I wanted to briefly tell her about this relationship but the words just wouldn't come out. It's so hard to decide what to tell your idol! especially when your time is limited. As she let go I slide my hand down her arm. She has the softest skin ever! and she feels so petite in your arms, like a barbie! and her hair is so soft! Ahhh I'm in heaven! I can't believe this happened to me once let alone twice!!! My friend was able to get a couple pics but they are pretty blurry and you can't see Celine's face well. When I get a chance I will post them.

Did anyone by chance get this moment on video? Are there videos out of the screen as Celine was walking through the crowd? I was at the very end. After she let go of me she stopped and waved at everyone. This was so incredible! It would be amazing if she read my letter and I received some type of response.

The concert was amazing! Her speech was nice and long, and I could tell she really felt for us. My friend and I flew in from Detroit, so it cost a lot of money to change the flight, but it was definitely worth it! I was disappointed that Celine didn't stop and wave at us when she was pulling into the venue, but she made it up to me at the end.

Gotta love our Celine!

Wow- ABM was amazing- all the wee ad libs etc. Thanks for the vids etc and congrats Srah- that was so cool how she rolled down on the floor to hug you! You must have been so scared- I would have been. And hope you had a good one Mr Edwin

I don't know exactly what I was feeling as Kelsie and I approached the stage. It was just a matter of 'must get to Celine'. We were already so pumped up it was actually a relief to get to her and be with her finally!!! Then we could relax. aaah she's amazing. I was trying to tell Celine that we wrote her a letter a while back telling her of our plans to give her flowers during that show and she kept looking at me like 'ok what is she saying to me!?' Her eye's were locked on for what seemed an eternity. For all those lucky fans who have looked into her eyes and for all those that WILL do in the future...everything seems to stop when she looks at you. Her deep brown eyes are just so beautiful!! There were 18,000 people in that room I think and she had the power somehow to make me feel I was the only one there for the few seconds she looked at me. And her hand was so soft and comforting, when she held mine she looked at me and meant it and I felt so much love and appreciation from her. wow! What an experience!!!! I will never ever forget it for the rest of my life.

I agree stevoo!! ABM was fantastic. The best performance of it I have seen!! It was soooo beautiful and touching, the way Celine changed up a couple of notes and made it sooo unique to that evening wow! At the end the applause seemed to last for a VERY long time!!!!! Celine was very taken aback by it!!! I couldn't quite make out what she mouthed after she got up from her signature gymnastic move after ABM but we can safely say she was amazed!!!! When she sang Alone that was also an amazing moment as it's one of my favourite songs of hers, she reallllly feels that and you can tell so much in her performances of it. Love can move mountains also was great!!! Celine managed to get everyone up and dancing - or at least everyone around me was and we all were having such a great time together, such a positive and uplifting vibe!

Overall, I could REALLY feel the love in that room for Celine or maybe it was just the section I was in (floor 1 - piano side) there were so many of us up alllll the time dancing and singing along...even in the isle at times! Our section gave Celine about 10 standing ovations!!!!! The vibe was truly fantastic and you could see on Celine's face that she REALLY appreciated all the love that was shown. You could feel her love for sure!!!

Thank you for all your kind words everyone. It means so much. The support we show for each other as fans is just amazing  Here are some of the photos I took!!!!

Celine arriving!!! There were 6 of us I think waiting but the car didn't stop... I think it was around 5.15pm that she arrived...Edwin is that right? I'm not sure!!!
