I really think we should sue TeamCeline - the official website - just like the fans from Hannah Montana did. It's very serious guys.

This is an absurd what they are doing. They promise something that in real it didn't happen. How come those nights are already sold out??? they didn't even communicated it to us. How come many good seats are now on ticket exchange for prices like over CA $ 1,300 ?!?!?!?!?!

I don't know if it is possible to sue TC but something definately HAS to be done.

What are your idea's?

A petition?

Will it work?

I'm going to read the fine print and see what I can find.

All I want is Justice

Jane, as far as I know, it's possible to sue TeamCeline & official website.

The fans from Hannah Montana sued her official fan club. It was a fan from US who started it all. We just need some help from someone from US. We need a lawyer.

We need to do something, now!

I dunno what to do, but we need to do something big to make them know what we think. The ticket policy and selling has been ridiculous. First the two ticket policy and now this ridiculous selling policy...

And that was a wrap, folks!

I'd totally be on board with regards to doing something. Frankly i think it's been a bit ridiculous how poorly we've been treated!

If someone gets something started then I'm certain there'd be a whole lot of people behind them!

Unfortunately I have very little idea about law/internet law but if there will be something started, I'm willing to join too! :D

For such a bad treatment they should compense this with some meet&greets with Céline for all members, not only for contest winners!

Or 1 free ticket for every member, hehe! ;)

(I would prefer meet&greet though as I already bought all tickets I'm interested in)

Something HAS to be done. We deserve better treatment than this.
Posted

Let's start off with a letter to TC.

In simple terms - what our grievances are:

1) Increase the limit of tickets we are able to purchase

2) Crack down on the scalpers.

3) Don't open sales of tickets to venues without notifying us first - in general, to improve on communication

4) Have competitions to win Meet 'n Greets for each venue

5)

6)

What else?

I have been having a bit of a showdown with TC the last week or so. Totally fed up I asked for details of the CEO to put in a complaint. This is what I was told:

At Musictoday we maintain the Team Celine fan club as well as the ticketing for certain shows. You may e-mail feedback@musictoday.com or visit www.musictoday.com for further contact information.

If that's any help to you.

Well, I think we should send a letter to CDA-Feelings.

I'm not sure if it worth the trouble or money though. :( I don't even know we should sue them in Canada or USA. :P

Maybe we can get 10K signature petition and submit to Feelings and Ticketmaster, ask them cancel all orders listed on scalper sites and eBay?

I think a petition is definetly a good starting point. Easy way to get our feelings out to those who might be able to do something about it.

Doubt they will now, but our voices should be heard!

i think they should offer more tickets in the presale other than the front row seats. they shoud have seats in all levels.

I would try to e-mail this address:

celineinfo@on.aibn.com

I know this is an address that will work a lot better than music today. Music today doesn't give a flippin crap about the fans, but this address is one that will be closer to Celine and her team....let's send TONS of e-mail to let them know how we feel! Now on ebay there are OVER 600 listings of tickets and the majority are MONTREAL and tons of people are bidding on them!

I'm a twin mommy just like Celine!

Sophia and Anthony arrived on December 28, 2010

Alright, does this email work for sure Sarah?

Maybe we could write a text - one for everybody to send - I don't know....

Well, I'm going to write to this email, thanks Sarah!

I have sent 2 emails to musictoday to request the contact details of the head honcho to make a complaint.

Unsurprisingly my emails have gone unanswered!

What a shock, not!

Entertainment, Kylie Minoque demands cancellation of tickets resold on eBay

08/07/2006

TicketNews.com -- Performers are starting a new trend: canceling tickets that they find on reseller sites. Kylie Minogue this week joins the ranks of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, who may have started the trend with the cancellation of nearly 500 tickets sold during a presale auction on Petty’s fan club site in May.

Minogue insisted that the tickets found on eBay for up to five times their face value be cancelled, going head to head with eBay in an effort to stamp out reselling of tickets to her comeback concert at Wembley Arena. Minoque demanded the cancellation by the arena in order to resell the tickets.

The demand was so high for these London concerts, that tickets disappeared in as little as five minutes.

The singer’s Web site cautions that fans be wary of Internet sales, saying the tickets may be lost, stolen or that the vendor may not even have any tickets. This was prefaced with a list of appropriate places to purchase tickets, including Ticketmaster as an approved vendor.

Not surprising, considering Ticketmaster had a hand in the cancellation of the Petty tickets as well. They also were involved with London’s “T in the Park” concert ticket cancellations, for some of the same reasons.

In order to understand where the performers are coming from, you have to look at this practice from both sides of the coin. The performers and promoters don’t like the fact that in a capitalistic society, the free market reigns. They’re not getting a cut of the markup --and the government isn’t either.

If there were no market for these tickets, the resellers wouldn’t sell them. Wholesale and resale, when you have something someone wants, you sell it to them, plain and simple, and keep the profit.

But in order to call this a free-market practice, there would have to be a free market in the first place, which implies competition. In the case of the primary ticket industry, it’s basically a monopoly.

Ticketmaster has exclusive contracts with over 70 percent of the clubs and theaters and over 90 percent of the large arenas in the United States. Their exclusive contracts make it so that whether or not the arena is independent, if the promoter of the event is contracted with Ticketmaster, the tickets must be sold exclusively through them.

The band String Cheese Incident tried their hand in 2003 at selling tickets directly to their own fans. They use their fan club to help fans avoid Ticketmaster’s myriad of charges, similar to Tom Petty and Dave Matthews’ arrangements. As a result of Ticketmaster’s monopoly on the venues that were sized for their fans, they were unable to play in San Diego. They tried to sue the mega-ticket giant for violating antitrust laws.

Ticketmaster countersued, claiming the band interfered with their contracts.

String Cheese Incident had been relying on ‘holds,’ tickets reserved for performers by promoters and venues. They could sometimes get them up to 50 percent of the house, and would then resell them for only four dollars in fees, according an article in The Philadelphia Inquirer, compared to Ticketmaster’s 30 to 35 percent markup.

Ticketmaster changed the rules to make it harder for bands to qualify for the holds, limiting who they could sell tickets to, and defining exactly what those conditions were. String Cheese and other bands were only able to get up to eight percent of seats after the 2002 change.

Incidents such as this and Pearl Jam’s suit against the ticket seller draw a scary picture. This is what happens when you cross a major company that is acting like all other media in this country, consolidating until there are very few choices for fans any longer.

The other Sales sites could learn a serious lesson from the South African sale of tickets !!

1) There is only ONE company that has the rights to sell tickets.

www.ticketconnection.co.za

2) The Team Celine seats are Clearly marked !!

Cape Town 23 Feb

3) You can clearly see which sections are sold out without having to search the entire place

Montecasino 29 Feb

We don't have scalpers.

It's not in our vocabulary :D

From "Proudly South African"

My team Celine membership is still current however I just signed up a new account via ticketmaster so that I could get the new membership kit as you get nothing for renewal...Did anyone get anything that did this as well or hear anything about their new membership?

Wow, Jane!! You're really coming from a Country of Justice, at least if it goes for the concert tickets!! How great organized is that?! And why here in Europe (and in the Northern America) things work so stupidly?!! Argh!!.... :(

Just today I notice a scalper site totally messed up with my tickets for Amsterdam, fortunately I still could get front row seat but in an another section... grrr.... I hate these entire ticket sales, I want the CONCERTS!!! NOW!!! :D
