Looking back on Celine's career, I think her next projects will look like this:

 

July 2008 - "D'elles Live" CD/DVD (recorded in Paris in May 2008, during the Taking Chances Tour)

November 2008 - "Greatest Hits" (English hits from "A New Day Has Come" to "Taking Chances")

February 2009 - "Taking Chances Live" CD/DVD (recorded during the U.S. leg of Taking Chances Tour)

 

March 2009 - Celine takes two-year break to have another baby.

well................i agree with the live cds......but not the greatest hits!!!!!!! as she has not had anything great to call a hit lately!!!!!

i think if she was to do a greatest hits cd it should be like a three disc thing not just one cd!!!!!

i think she should also do a dvd of all her english videos.....i thought the ATW cd was alittle let down!

i also think she will leave us with a new album too!

Exactly! Collector's Serioes Vol. 2 should be released! But I hope that the new collector's album will include songs like: Would I know, Map to my heart, Reason I go, Is nothing sacred etc...

 

I would love Celine if she just forgot about any breaks!

If there is a god, and he loves me in the slightest then he will provide a DVD of the Taking Chances tour. That's my only hope in the next few years.

I hope for live DVD(s) of the tour - would be great to get kinda one of the French and one of the English leg of the tour!

 

But I don't agree about "Greatest Hits", it wouldn't make much sense for me since there weren't that big hits of her after her baby break.

 

And I wish she can take a break after the tour and if she needs a long break - let it be a long break!

 

Don't foget she's a human and she deserves to live her life the way she wants it to be and also to really enjoy family and "normal woman" life!

 

I better wait 10 years to get an amazing, high quality album again, maybe with her self-written songs than have another mixup album right after the tour - without a soul, without a heart...

It's WAAAY to soon for a 2nd Greatest Hits. In 1999 it will be 10 years, and she hasn't released enough singles to really have a greatest hits:

I guess she could record new songs for it, but I'd prefer her do a greatest hits after 15 years.

 

I would not count on a TAKING CHANCES live dvd, judging my her last video releases, but a Francophone release I think is next. I'm sure we can count on a Japanese Tour Edition of "Taking Chances" sometime next year, too.

And the two live CDs. Especially the one in English. She needs to redeem herself from that Vegas one....ughhhh.

lol I agree with the live cds, but like everyone else said, not a greatest hits! Simple cos of the fact that she didn't have that many hits since 2002! But a collectors series vol 2 with the best songs from 2002 to 2007 plus some rare tracks would be great!

There were some rumours that she will act and play Maria Callas the famous singer in 2009.

It think she will stay in business after having a second child, but she will take it easy: just few albums and rarely some shows.

About the Cds, I don't think we'll have any D'Elles live, unless it's called "Taking chances with D'Elles live"

 

Later I guess we'll have the collector series vol. 2... Maybe in 2009 or 2010, to help us be strong enough while she's not out there singing...

 

I really would love to have a Taking chances live DVD, but I don't think it'll happen. It took them 5 years to release the Live in Las Vegas DVD, so one year is just too little time for them.

Id love a Live in concert DVD. I absolutely love Live a Paris. It would be nice if she did one in another country, all the live concert DVDs have been in France; Paris and the Stade du Coeur one.

Just before there is news about Celine's new plans, I just hope "Taking Chances" does magnificently well, and that there are lots of singles released from it. Since the tour ends at the beginning of 2009, and since pop music is more cyclic than other formats, I would expect at least five singles released.

I think that all of the projects that the OP posted are very realistic, including the "Greatest Hits" collection.

 

It's a very simple solution. All Sony would have to do is include Céline in their "Essential" collections and voila! The collection could be a 2-CD or 3-CD set. It would include every big hit she's had including "Pour que tu m'aimes encore," "Tout l'or des hommes" and the others. Gloria Estefan released her "Essential" collection and included a few select biggie Spanish numbers. So a new "Greatest Hits" package isn't entirely illogical.

 

As for the DVD of the "Taking Chances World Tour" I would LOVE to see this released! Maybe in the bonus features section they could include special clips from the South Africa show to a few other highlights that will come up along the way. Maybe even include a mini documentary of Celine touring the cities she's visiting.

If she is going to do a greatest hits, it needs to be a proper one this time and include all her hits with a few new ones.

I'm so sorry but I wish Celine would have taken her break now, rested, had another child and took a long break to rejuvenate. I know that's not realistic considering she has to promote "Taking Chances" and make the $ needed to cover all the costs involved with making the album, however I feel that she is just so darned overworked right now. I also believe what she keeps saying in interviews about her values and priorities changing; what she wants more of (time w/RC, other family, etc) she's actually getting less of thanks to all the promo stuff, etc, etc.

 

My hope is that she'll make it through this next month intact, have a really good rest over the holidays, and then somehow survive the gruelling year of travel ahead. My prediction however is that sometime during the tour she'll be forced to cancel a huge portion of it due to exhaustion and damage to her vocal chords.

 

You might think I'm a nasty pessimist, but I believe I'm a realist who has valid concerns. So...in conclusion, even though it would mean me not seeing her in Edmonton next year, I hope her next project is:

 

Cancel tour, get healthy, have another child (in other words...take her life into her own hands), and then put out whatever music she wants to & who cares what the # of sales are or if it's #1 or not. She has enough money, we've had many years of pleasure that's she's given us wholeheartedly, and so true fans would set her free to retire as she sees fit and extend the years she has to live on this earth. Because I believe if the choice was hers...and only hers...that she would have chosen to semi-retire after AND.

 

I want to stop asking Celine for more and just offer her her freedom from show-biz life. She's been doing it, really, since she was 5 years old in her parent's piano bar; it's time to get down now & truly live!!!!!!!!!

Well, I think she really wants to go on tour and I really want to see her. Yes, a worldtour is hard and exhausting but she only scheduled 3 shows a week and that isn't that much. Maybe she'll catch a cold or lose her voice along the road, then she'll take a break. I am good with that. Cancelling the tour wouldn't help or satisfy anyone. Besides, how I have gotten to know her over the last few weeks, she isn't someone who lets others control her life - at least, not anymore.

I trust her and I trust her decisions. If she wants to go on tour then she should.
