celinerific Posted November 17, 2007 at 03:48 AM Posted November 17, 2007 at 03:48 AM (edited) I was watching the news and apparenty, recently, all Air Canada flights were shut down for a certain time period. The computer system flunked and everything got messed up. All the flights that were booked were lost, and there were literally THOUSANDS of people waiting at the Toronto Pearson Airport for their flight that didn't come. Everyone was frustrated and furious. I don't blame them. There was this one woman who was crying and they asked her about her issues with the Air Canada shutdown incident. She, apparently, was waiting for a flight to go to Timmins to be with her mother who was sick and dying, who had only a few days left to live. Her flight was delayed until futhur notice. This is terrible. Many people said they would start thinking twice about taking another flight with Air Canada again. It's not my place to say that I won't ever fly on Air Canada again, because franky, I don't think it's completely their fault. Perhaps they should've been more prepared for something like this, such as having a backup server. But I do feel for the people who stayed there for hours and hours, waiting for their flight, which eventually came. Some people even gave up and went home. Well as you know this is the start of the big holiday travel season. This season is supposed to have record numbers of people traveling. In the past I've traveled by car and plane on this upcoming US holiday weekend an it's never fun. I'm glad I'm not going anywhere next weekend. Quote

celinerific Posted November 17, 2007 at 04:01 AM Author Posted November 17, 2007 at 04:01 AM (edited) Oi. Air Canada tried their best to keep everything smooth by even handing out water to everyone and apologizing. But the damage has already been made. It's sad... just sad. dj4celine Posted November 18, 2007 at 10:22 PM Posted November 18, 2007 at 10:22 PM Same thing here with Air India today. The flights were more than 26 hours late and passengers were not even given food and the staff didn't even care when the passengers asked why it was late. What's happening with the flights these days?? Quote
