it's a mistake to keep singing those 2 songs in all her tv appereances...she should sing some other songs from the new album - people already heard those 2 on oprah , ellen , good morning america , not to mention all the tv shows in europ...she needs to start singing and promoting the edgy songs - "this time" , "fade away" , "eyes on me"...it can only help the album

 

I disagree completely!

 

Look at what's happening. Radio basically saw Celine's name and rejected "Taking Chances" offhand. It's a great song, and possibly the most radio-friendly on the album, but it languished in obscurity for two months. Now that Celine has been promoting the heck out of it, singing it on every show possible, in just the last week it's really starting to pick up steam. Suddenly it's rocketing up the iTunes chart, which will pull it up Billboard, and Top 40 radio will follow...it's happening already!

 

You can't perform a song once, on one show, and expect it to make a difference. You have to hit lots of shows, with different demographics, to expose a large number of people to it. "Dancing with the Stars", especially, will be great exposure. And people have to hear it more than once for it to really stick. The people who'll love it on the first listen are probably big fans and already know it. It's a catchy tune, but repetition really helps. How many times have you come to love a song that didn't do much for you on the first listen?

 

I'm *really* glad that Celine's team believes in the song. It's way too early to abandon it. And, to be honest, if it doesn't stick, the album is in big trouble. "Alone" is great for promoting the album, too. People already know it, so it will stick in their brain after hearing it just once. And Celine's vocals on it are utterly fantastic.

 

I've often criticized past choices for Celine's singles and promotional strategies, but not this time. They're bang on.

I think she should keep singing "Taking Chances," because it is the title and leading track of her album.

It is a beautiful song, indeed.

 

However, I do think that she should do other songs from the album to compliment and support "Taking Chances."

the outfit was horrible lol, but this looks like a fun interview, its great to see her looking happier and well rested on this clip, and i love how she says ''dat for'' instead of that, with her accent she, sounds like a new yorker or something...lol

Gog, I didn't like these performances you mentioned at all. The music was too quiet and her voice unmelodic to me. Here it resonates very nicely without being heavy, For the first time since ages.
