Céline Dion would hate her son to follow in her musical footsteps.

 

The Canadian singer - who was performing at the age of five in a small club owed by her parents - has no plans to make six-year-old René-Charles a child star.

 

Céline said: "I remember one night, I was in my pyjamas and my son was on the edge of the bed with me. I remember looking at him, then thinking back to myself aged five on stage. I was suddenly realising what I did. I couldn't believe that my son could have been on stage performing - he is my baby."

 

However, the 'My Heart Will Go On' star - who has been married to her son's father René Angelil since 1994 - did concede that her young boy has already been exhibiting a musical talent.

 

She added to Britain's Hello! magazine: "He sings, he dances, he plays keyboard. He is into music a lot."

Thanks for the article. Wow!!! its true, RC's going in her musical footsteps. In my opinion, it would be great if he could become a singer, but not start too young as Celine did.

I was browsing YouTube yesterday afternoon and I watched an interview wherethat same question was posed. Celine's response was that she would support RC in whatever he chose to do. If he did, in fact, choose to pursue a career in showbusiness, she stated that she would possibly have him privately schooled while working. But I will say that her facial expression while saying this was somewhat reluctant, as if she was saying to herself, "Oh no, I really hope he doesn't!" Did you see the interview I'm referring to?

I didn't see that interview you mention, but I can understand Celine 100%. If RC chooses a musical carrer, the press will tear him up, they will destroy him, just because he is Celine's son.

Besides, there will be a lot of pressure on him...he should be "The best" since his mother is perfect.

If I was him, I would try to keep myself out of the spotlight..but that's just me

I think I totaly agree with Celine if he does have a career or if he does choose to have a career in show bussiness he will have a great teacher.

It'd be surprising if RC hasn't inherited any musical talent, seeing that his entire family has. But he needs to be older than this, showbiz and the press are painfully nasty. They just love lies and self-satisfaction.

I think it would be cool if he did have a career later on, but like others had said, not too early.

Show business has never been particularly kind to the people who find themselves in it, but since Celine was younger, it seems to have got a lot worse. Those with the most success and fame face the harshest critisism, and the fiercest press coverage. It seems almost inescapable for some, even at the most personal times. Just look at Britney. Now I know that RC will have a much stronger and grounded family life than the likes of Britney, and that will give him much more stability to be able to cope with what life throws at him, but I can really see why Celine would not want him to get into that kind of life.

 

I'm sure whatever he ends up doing, he will have the best support network anyone could ever wish for. I say that not because of the money that his family has (and don't get me wrong - it would certainly help!) But because of the size and callibre of Celine's family, and the closeness of the people in hers and Rene's life, would mean that none of the Dions or Angelil's would ever be without help when they need it. Because of the way they look after people, they will always have people look out for them, I see RC having the same kind of support. He is so lucky to have been born into such a great and respected family.
