Celine Multimedia section open again, thanks a lot to our Donators for their contributions.

We're forced to close the multimedia section again due to the crazy amount of downloads. We already spent $500 USD EXTRA for 2 additional servers. This is on top of our regular monthly server cost of $450 USD. $450 + $500 = $950 USD. Most likely, a third server will be needed for the remaining shows.

 

I know some of you will ask why not share files in lower quality, smaller size. Well, we did share some in divx format and any lower will be pointless to even share here...there's youtube if you want crappy quality stuffs.

Our server used so much bandwidth (traffic) that we are forced to close the multimedia section temporarily (not forever). This comes as no surprise given the huge amount of videos shared on this forum. The thousands of downloads add up very quickly as you can imagine.

 

The good news is that I have ordered a second server to host the videos, the bad news is it'll take 24-48 hours for me to setup and transfer all the files. It will cost $250 USD extra on top of what we're paying, $450 (1st server) + $250 (2nd server) = $700/month. The most expensive bill ever, I hope more members will donate to allow us to share the best in multimedia.

 

 

My apologies for any inconveniences caused but I cannot afford to allow the server to exceed the bandwidth limit, it is really not worth it! I'll do my best to get the new server running within 48 hours. The multimeda section WILL be open again, do not panic!

i agee with kong,interviews shouldn't be that much big i think m2v files are great for them.i think all of us at most watch an interview onces or twice..

Ils ont un problème de serveurs dû a un trop grand téléchargement de vidéos. Ils ont commandés une nouvelle machine afin de pouvoir remettre très prochainement a disposition la partie Multimédias. Le problème est que cette dernière est très chère, ils leurs faut quelques dons svp... Merci à toutes et tous.

Exactly. People would start complaining again if we share in low quality. And those trailers are short and small anyway.

Also from my caculation, our bandwidth is not enough even if we share all future shows in divx or wmv, due to the amount of upcoming shows and madness of downloads.

Actually I downloaded a few things yesterday and the day before yesterday but it was the first time I went to download stuff for some weeks! I really enjoy just the forum too - the discussions, the news!!

 

But I'm totally shocked about the amount you have to pay to keep up the 2 servers now!

I love interwievs, so very much, dont you think (in most of them) Celine is so funny. Gosh I wish I could speak french.

Furthermore I would prefer some good quality stuff in HD more, than loads in not so great quality. Lets face I dont speak french, but I was killing myself on Taratata in 1997. BTW does anyone has in their collection????

I don't like this idea of paying to download and a lot of members will be against it. Downloads will always be free. That's one of the big reasons why this forum has so many members.
