celinerific Posted November 3, 2007 at 05:20 AM Posted November 3, 2007 at 05:20 AM (edited) I find this very interesting. For the first time since 1979 (I think that's the right date...) Canadian currency is officially stronger than the currency in the United States (for the time being, of course). The status of the currencies is something like... $1.00 CAD = $1.04 USD Pretty snazzy if I do say so myself. I think it's time for us "Great White Northers" to come on down to the States and do some well-deserved SHOPPING! Célinefull Posted November 3, 2007 at 07:40 AM Posted November 3, 2007 at 07:40 AM not special, the AU$ is trading at 93 US cents right now, and by the end of the year apparently it's supposed to reach parity. sadly it has more to do with the weakening of the US economy than the strength of ours, cause the AU$ is still trading at 40 pence Quote http://img695.imageshack.us/img695/7108/ziegfieldgirlbanner.jpg
dj4celine Posted November 3, 2007 at 07:41 AM Posted November 3, 2007 at 07:41 AM (edited) Oh no!! That means my cds and other stuff from Canada are gonna cost me more Same here with the INR. It's at its all time highest against the US$... somthing like 1US$ = 37 INR .... which is kinda bad for exports with US being India's largest trading partner... which ultimately may slow down the booming economy Edited November 3, 2007 at 07:43 AM by dj4celine Quote
Alex_Incognito Posted November 3, 2007 at 04:39 PM Posted November 3, 2007 at 04:39 PM Yes, in US Stores the Canadian music is TRES CHER! I remember going to Canada in 2003 during the ONE HEART era and getting the bang for my US buck. The economy here is on the fritz! Just as I am about to graduate university! stevethefan Posted November 7, 2007 at 03:08 AM Posted November 7, 2007 at 03:08 AM I am WELL aware of this development. I remember going up to Montreal about eight years ago and it was great I would exchange $100 US and get $140 CDN. It was like getting free money! Of course that time was bad for Canadians traveling south of the border to shop. I guess the tables have turned. Quote
celinerific Posted November 7, 2007 at 03:31 AM Author Posted November 7, 2007 at 03:31 AM Ooooo. CAD went up again! $1.00 CAD = $1.09 USD. Quote http://i58.tinypic.com/2qbub9c.png @ErikaTran | Insta: aireexwp | erikatran.com

stevethefan Posted November 8, 2007 at 03:02 AM Posted November 8, 2007 at 03:02 AM Words cannot express how depressed I feel about this. I'm sending back all my maple syrup, hockey sticks and CD's by Bryan Adams, Sarah Maclaclan and Shania Twain effective IMMEDIATELY! Alright, calm down now, I was just kidding...I'll keep the maple syrup! Quote
