This is my new favorite Celine song! I just LOVE it, so soulfull, a little gospel, blues sounding, just absolutely gorgeous! I could listen to it for days and not get tired of it!

Im SUPRISED SUPRISED finally my membership is paying back!! Its seems that almost everyday is something exciting ther. Only hope that with new price, things like that will happen regulary and only get BETTER. Maybe who ever is responsible thinks that Forum is taking over.

I'm sorry. I heard the full song and i think that it is the worst song on the CD. Very monotonous,... Very hmm.... church-like...

The rest of teh album rocks though!

I think this song isn't bad, it's something different again... But I must admit it's one of the songs I like the less on this album....

 

Yeah, Céline voice is great there but as someone else already said, it's also about the melody and the entire song and that's what doesn't really get me...

i like it - it is very repetative though, im kinda impatient with it. Love the bluesy/ soft gospel feel to it.

Wonderful Celine Hymn, strong voice, powerful, but at last not my favorite, the reason is, that Linda Perry is present in this song, I loved the 4 Non Blondes and "What's Up" and you hear her infulence, I think Linda wrote it more for herself... and I must say, it's a different (more rocky, dirty) voice but Linda's interpretation of this song is as well as Celine's

At first i really don't like this song when i hear the preview... but then after i give it a chance... i'm so fall in love with this song, especialy when she say "I am women"... i love that part.... this song become one of my favorite song from this album.

The beginning is sooooooooooooooooo low !!! Amazing! A belgian newspaper highlighted that - a very different way to sing for Celine - and they said that's why Celine was still the queen of singing.

 

By the way, in the beginning (all the low parts I mean), she sounds like...Mariah (well, when at the beginning of her career).

I hate it. I skip it every time....

I think I hate it so much mostly because of the hundred times it says "New day" on the lyrics....enough is enough with the new day theme!!!

I guess she hasn't performed that song on her tour yet...and I hope she never will or the crowd will fall asleep

funny u should bring this up....i hated the song so much, and skipped it also, until one day on the tube when i had a really bad day, i let it play, and i loved it..... i still do, but its a song that i play ever now and again if i'm in that kinda mood..

its a great song to play on ur ipod if ur having one of those pooh days and ur on the go....

 

so those of you you hate it, just keep that in mind if ur having a bad day, and give it a listen

If I'm having a bad day, the last thing I need is a song that boring. I usually play songs that are uplifting, like IDAN or "That's the way it is", "A cause", "Fade away", Sorry for love......those made me feel energetic.

I gave "New dawn" way too many chances, and it hasn't grown on me. Neither has "Skies of L.A.", which I still can't get

I was loving this song from the first time and it's still beautifull for me.

I think Celine and Linda Perry made an excellent job, I don't know why you don't like it...

I agree. So many people, both on this forum, and out in the 'real world' are so easy to say "I love it." or "I hate it.", but the don't take the time to listen to the words. The words, people! LOL That's a crucial piece to the puzzle of what makes a good song a great one. Go read the words to "New Dawn". It's on the verge of inspirational.

 

I nice, uptempo song can always get ya going, but half of what get's you going is also the lyrics to that song... If all it takes is fast music to get you going, listen to music, or something with no words. Then tell us how you felt afterwards. Everyone has their own taste in music. Everyone has their own way of being transformed by music, that's why music is such a powerful thing. A simple "I hate it.", however won't suffice. Back it up with something valid. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying every song ever written is awesome... LOL It just kinda bums me sometimes when people won't allow themselves to like something, just because they think they shouldn't, or they won't allow themselves a little insight to something and possibly enjoy something.

I'm not an idiot, ok. I DO LSITEN to the words. That's the main reason I hate this song, because the zillion times it repeats "A new day"...like it's a deja vu. If you just have read what I posted before instead of being so judging of other people, you'd seen it

I think this song could have been so much more.......or at least the idea of this song could have. I think it was supposed to be the BIG vocal song on the album - and her voice doesn't sound as good as it could have. She should have recorded this song the day she was hitting those notes in "Map to my Heart".
