JCeline85 Posted October 14, 2007 at 12:52 AM Posted October 14, 2007 at 12:52 AM I just got home from Vegas and wow!! First off, I had never been to Vegas on a Friday night before, and it was busy! After dinner at the cheesecake factory in the forum shops me and my mom and sister headed down to the standby ticket line to see if we could maybe upgrade our seats from 2nd mezz to something a little better.. but the line was all the way out into the sports book area and we didn't want to wait. I had people coming up to me asking if i had extra tickets, willing to pay $250 for my ticket.. but we decided to just avoid the standby line and stick with what we had... The doors were open when we arrived and the doors to the theater opened at 7:45.. after sitting down (2nd mezz sect 2 row J..) we sat there for 45 minutes waiting for the show to start. There were many people around us that had no idea what kind of show they were about to see, so i explained a little about the coliseum and shared some facts and made some new friends! Then at about 8:40 the camera man started scanning through the audience like always and not long after the lights went dim and Celine was on stage. ANDHC sounded amazing!! Everything sounded great! She was definitely in great vocal shape!! She received a short standing ovation after the power of love and continued on as usual.. after to love you more, and another standing ovation from the people down in the orchestra.. Celine did her traditional speech to the audience, except this time she talked about being gone all last week.. and how she felt bad for being sick and she apologized to everyone and told everyone that it wasn't her fault she was sick and that she understands how many people were disappointed last week.. earlier on the shuttle from the airport our driver mentioned he knew of many hotel management throughout Vegas that was upset with her for canceling, because it caused a lot of problems with peoples plans.. but in a very professional way Celine apologized and said "Doing a show is hard, and we want to make sure we are healthy and able to perform." So after apologizing and thanking the audience for coming she continued with I'm Alive, and she seemed to have a lot of energy! Our seats were sigh high up though i could only see little figures running around... and during parts of the show when she was on the screen, her head was cut off because the top part of the screen couldn't be seen from the 2nd mezzanine.. but it looked like she was energetic for the entire show and she seemed to be feeling a lot better... The show continued and after Seduces me she didn't sing If I Could. Instead she went right on to PQTE. I was really disappointed, because If I could is one of my favorite songs of the show, but i guess they must've had technical problems or she just didn't want to sing it.. the rest of the show seemed to fly by very fast! There was a lot of her French audience there it seemed, because when she sang PQTE there was a loud applause.. and later in the boutique there were many French speaking fans. Celine finished the show and gave the rose to a little girl in the front row. The girl looked confused, but it was really cute. I think some of her family may have been there. During the beginning when they were scanning the audience they showed people in the light/sound booth and one of the ladies looked like one of her sisters. And since i was so high up, in the tech booths up above the 2nd mezz i spotted Rene in one of the windows. I am sure it was him, because he was bald and had a white beard and was in a suit..Overall it was a great show!! I know i would've enjoyed it a lot more if i had been closer to her.. but it was still great to see her! It is sad the she will be done in december... i wish i could go back and see her again.. It was my mom and sisters first time seeing her, and it's all they have talked about since we got home. We are very excited for the DVD!! anyways... i wasn't able to get a bootleg because they caught me with my MP3 player (which has a recording device).. Time to get some sleep.... LVCeline Posted October 14, 2007 at 01:33 PM Posted October 14, 2007 at 01:33 PM Glad you enjoyed yourself but I would have been pissed she didn't sing IIC. I have no clue why she wouldn't be able to, it's not her most difficult song by any stretch of the imagination. And I'm sure people were upset about it but they don't realize that you can't help when you get sick and it's got to be a huge burden for her to have to cancel knowing 4,000 people planned their trips around her! Imagine how she feels about that. Nevertheless I myself would have been extremely disappointed and angry and upset, but ultimately there's nothing that can be done. I work at a hotel and I had 2 guests from Canada just this last week who had tickets for her show and found it was canceled. They were quite upset and told me that "apparently she does this quite often." I started to get a tad bit defensive but told myself to let it go, heh. Quote
Kerry Elizabeth Posted October 14, 2007 at 02:09 PM Posted October 14, 2007 at 02:09 PM (edited) I was at the show on the 10th and 11th and I knew someone there on the 12th. She didn't sing IIC on any of those nights. And as for the show being cancelled, they were letting people with tickets from those shows be number 1 in the stand by lines this past week. They were doing everything they could to accomidate those people. JCeline85 Posted October 14, 2007 at 06:00 PM Author Posted October 14, 2007 at 06:00 PM and i forgot to mention that Celine didn't once mention her new album or talk about being done in 14 shows. She seemed to me kind of upset or anxious for the night to be over... maybe she got in trouble for being gone by Caesars palace and was told to apologize.. she was very professional about it.. and yeah Celine on stage with diahrea would not have been fun to see.. and that is kind of gross and just wrong lol. People do get sick.. and she did the right thing by not performing. I am sure she is under a lot of stress right now too.. i mean she has a new album coming out next month and her Vegas run is near it's end.. has to be a lot to think about. She is only human though... which makes me love her even more Quote The Wait Is Over?
DianaLuts Posted October 14, 2007 at 06:19 PM Posted October 14, 2007 at 06:19 PM A good source told me that Celine didn't sing IIC because she is still sick and that she is really not feeling that well lately and that right after shows now she does the doctor's round. I felt like she wasn't really in the great shape and i felt like she had to push herself thru the show. Her eyes were not smiling. Did you notice that the MHWGO dress in new? She used to have 2 different blue ones, one with a V neck and the other with a circlular kinda neck. So now she has a pink dress that is an exact copy of the blue dress with a circular neck. I liked Saturday's show better. Celine was feeling better. The crappy thing was that there were some drunk people on the front row. And right when the show started i got a gift bag from Celine's team delivered to my seat so i am in heaven:):):):):):):):) Quote

Doug Tesar Posted October 19, 2007 at 01:10 AM Posted October 19, 2007 at 01:10 AM Hello to all you Team Celine Fans I wanted to share with all of you my experience for the October 6th Concert. As most of you are aware by now Celine had to cancel her Friday and Saturday concert. I am glad for thoses of you that got a chance to see her the following week. Its nice to know she said something about that fact that she was sick and that a alot of people like me were there to see her the week before. I have never been to Vegas and figured I do it right and stay at a nice hotel like the Bellagio. As for my luck the flight from Cleveland Ohio to Vegas was not pleasant at all. When we arrived close to Vegas there were high winds and made the landing very nail biting. When we finely landed and got to the gate I was surprised to see the ground crew struggling to get the luggage from the plane and that they were almost wearing winter jackets. I left Cleveland with weather in the high 70s and went to a place that I thought would be some where in the mid 80s. When I arrived at my hotel and checked into the Bellagio and went to my room I looked out the window to a beautiful view and looked down to the pool attendants fighting with the pool furniture to keep all the furniture from going into the 9 pool they have. The temperature was 50 and the winds were gusting to 60 mph. This was crazy; I could here thru my window of the hotel room the wind hollowing. After my sister and I gotten situated we decided the first thing we should do is find out how far of a walk we were gong to do to get to the concert. We proceeded thru the mall that connected Bellagio to Caesars. Went we got over to Caesars I was impressed how big everything was and how hard it was to find your way around. You almost are overwhelmed but then we arrived at the doors and I was in ah of the huge life size picture of Celine and began taking it in and taking pictures of her. My Sister had wonder way from me to a sign post on the steps of the entrance. She stood frozen there and called me to come read this. I had gone over to read it and was in disbelief what I read. I just kept reading it over and over tonight concert has been canceled. There was a detail letter explain why under it. My Sister and looked at each other and didn’t know what to sat to each other. Mind you that this letter had just been posted 20 minutes before we got there and other people had the same idea to check it out. While we were standing there a couple had came up a read it and told us that the wife had bought the tickets for her husband for a 60th birthday and that they just flew in from England. We also saw people that were dressed to the nine that were so pose to be going to Friday night show and were also not aware what had happen till they got there and read it for the first time. At this time we all started talking to each other think now what. What do we all do? Most of us came to Vegas just to see Celine. I had planned my whole 3 day trip around this concert. My sister and I did do some sight seeing that day but because of the high winds none of the outside attractions going on plus it was very cold when the wind was blowing. Saturday morning I woke up think it was just a dream so I went back next door to see if things had changed only to find out that they hadn’t and after talking to a few staff member and flashing my TeamCeline credentials they had told me that she had gotten worse and that she was going to have to cancel all her shows for next week as well. Saturdays weather had gotten a little better but still only in the mid 60s. I tried at this point to try to get tickets another show but to no avail all the other shows were sold out. Go figure everyone had the same idea and were also looking for something to see in place of her. My sister decided the only thing we could do, do some more site see and do some gambling witch neither one of us were. We walked to entire strip and walked into almost ever hotel to pass time. We did a lot of people watching that was fun. Saturday night when we finely crashed for the night we went back to our room and just wanted to get off our feet from all the walking and turned in for the night and hoped that Sundays weather would warm up enough that they would open the pool and just relax. We woke up the weather was not warm only 65 so we decided again to do most site see what else for us to do. We spent the first part of our day down at Fremont open air shops and did a bit of shopping and then went to the Stratosphere. This became the only highlight of trip because the weather had warmed up to about 75 F. My sister and I decided well the pool has to be open so we went back to hotel and went down to the pool. We had only down there 20 minutes and heard over there loud speaker that the Belliago pools would be closing at 5:00 pm. I looked to my sister and said well “I guess this must be our luck” At this point I was so depressed. First the fight being unpleasant, seconded the weather not being what it was and not allowing us to see things and enjoy the pool and third the topper that Celine’s concert to be cancelled! What a let down. I have been a Celine Dion fan ever since she made it big here in the States in the 80s and have all her albums. I received Celine’s tickets as a gift from my General Manager of the hotel where I work. My Boss knew how much of a fan I was of hers and wanted to thank me for all my years of service and devotion and never taking a vacation in 10 years. He wanted along with others at my hotel who knew me to have a once in a lifetime experience. I have never seen Celine at a live concert and my dream didn’t come true. I guess life doesn’t go the way you plan it. I feel that all those people who were so pose to see her should get a live DVD of the show. Knowing that everyone spent all that money to get there and not have anything to show for there trip. What do you guys think? Maybe not everyone, but at least all of us that are TeamCeline members, “We are the backbone of her fan base”. That is the least they can do for us…. Doug Tesar dtesar@aol.com Wow that's quite the story... i really feel bad for all the people (especially those who traveled from long distances) just to see Celine and didnt get to see her. I definately think everyone that won't be able to make it back should receive a complimentary DVD or at least a really good discount on it. I would have been sick to my stomach if i had flown there from overseas and then found out she was sick. I know it wasn't her fault, and i could tell during her show on the 12th she felt really awful about it, and im sure it's a lot on her mind to know that she had to refund 16,000 people and that all because she wasnt feeling well all those people were dissapointed. Not much she can do though... But still a crappy situation for everyone. Perhaps you can get back to vegas the first week in december to see her? If you dont make it, im sure the DVD is going to be amazing! Just find a big screen to watch it on and a good sound system, and it'll be like being there live! Quote The Wait Is Over?

Doug Tesar Posted October 21, 2007 at 03:12 AM Posted October 21, 2007 at 03:12 AM I Don't blame her at all! I just feel that the management handled it poorly. You have people who are comeing from all over the world come to see her and they knew that she had canclled her shows and should of made other aragements for them. I also blame the hotels as well. I work for a Marriott Residence Inn in Cleveland Ohio as a Chief Engineer. I know working in this businesss that things happen. Pleaseing the guest in number one thing you do. I personally have had to do this many times at my hotel. I wrote a letter to the Belliago General Manager. I am waiting for a responce from him about this. Now there is a differance to my hotel to there's. I know the main reason they want to you to go there is to gamble. That's why they bring headlines like Celine to preform there. My feeling is working in this business you have to make the guest feel valued. I this case when I went to the desk and explained to them what happen they did nothing after all the main shows were sold out. That's my point! I Love Celine and always will. I am just hopeing that if enough of us that were there that weekend will put pressure on Celine's management to give us something for the money we all spent getting there and not seeing her. Getting your money back dosen't cover a memory or the reason you make the trip down there. Its not like you just plan next week you are going to make a trip like this. I hope for all you that still have tickets to see her, nothing happens and you should always have a backup plans just in case. I guess I have the second best thing a girlfriend that looks just like her. If you look at my profle you will see a picture of the two of us.... lyn Posted October 21, 2007 at 02:44 PM Posted October 21, 2007 at 02:44 PM (edited) Yeah on the 13th, she talked to us saying that her doctor/singer friend (who?) told her that you either commit to a show or you don't, because you shouldn't be up there giving a half hearted show. So she talked to us about how it may be hard to do a show, but it is even harder to cancel one. She went on to say that having the last week off, coming back this next week felt so good for her and everyone on stage because they realized how much they love to do this, and that Wednesday night felt like premiere night all over again. Sweet lady. So Doug: What did the management do for everyone who's show got canceled..? Besides refunding the tickets they didn't make any other gesture,..? Well as for me I haven't heard anything yet back from the General Manager of the Belliago. As I told you guys that when I went back to my hotel and looked into another show everthing was sold out. I also told you that when this happen on Friday night when I went over there it seamed to me that know when there knew what to do. Even at the box office all they said was that ticket holders would be refunded that's it. Oh ya were sorry but there is nothing we can do... Doug Quote Take Part in World Tour Viideo For Celine Dion

And the picture is small but I can see that your girlfriend looks a bit like Céline. Can she sing too? Doug Tesar Posted October 27, 2007 at 08:55 PM Posted October 27, 2007 at 08:55 PM Hello all I finely found the chance to answer you other question regarding why I contacted the Bellagio General Manager? First let me explain that when I booked my reservation I called to hotel directly, “I recommend this even if you booked online. I can tell that working in this business sometimes the property management systems of hotels don’t always pick up the reservations online from sources. Anyway talked to a very friendly woman named Becky who answered a lot of questions for me. I explain that this was my first time heading the Vegas and that I worked at a Hotel as well. One thing leads to another and we started talking about the hotel industry. While we talking her GM passed by and she told him that I was a Chief Engineer of a Residence Inn and that I was going to be staying. I talked to him briefly I knew he was busy. I asked why I was staying with them I explained the reason how I got tickets to see Celine and that they were a gift from my Gm. With that he told me to have a good time. See what you have to understand from working in this business that even though we are large industry everyone kind of is like a family. I know a lot of people who work at many hotels across the country and sometimes you find you worked with someone along the way. Anyway when I checked into the hotel the GM or Becky must have put a note on my reservation that I worked at a Residence Inn because when I checked in the front desk associate made a comment. “ Oh I see you work in business” I explained my self felt good to know they enjoy talking business as well. During my stay there I had a great suite attendant even though I have stayed at many hotels she went above and beyond. She would do little things that most travels wouldn’t even think of. Example “she would write personal note to me addressed to me saying little things like I hope you enjoy your stay with us.” “Hope you enjoyed your day”. Working in this business every week we at my hotel always make sure that the people that work for us get recognized when guest phrases them. I felt it was only right that I write an email to the General Manager to let him know he has two people that I encountered that did an excellent job. When I wrote the email to him I also explained to him all I encountered during my time. I am hope that he will respond and maybe see all that I have been thru and will make some king of gustier like pulling strings with next door and get me tickets to another show or maybe give me a discount on a room or tickets to another show if I were to ever come back to Vegas. Of course that what I am hope in for. I am sending along a picture of the hotel that I take care of. Also a picture of my girlfriend and I see what you guys think doesn’t she look like Celine… Doug Quote Take Part in World Tour Viideo For Celine Dion
