Bellamy Posted March 21, 2005 at 02:41 AM Posted March 21, 2005 at 02:41 AM CELINE DION'S LET'S TALK AB0UT LOVE THE SESSIONS A DOCUMENTARY DIRECTED BY SCOTT LOCHMUS PREMIERES WEDNESDAY, APRIL 29th, 7 Pm AT THE SCREENING ROOM NEW YORK CITY (54 Varick St, just below Canal) "This is really fantastic, meeting myself for the first time. It is so extraordinary, and I am so happy, because the people will get to know the real me, and I will get to know the real me, too ... [before this film], nobody saw the real me." Celine Dion Director Scott Lochmus (a.k.a. SFloyd) spent several months in late 1997 trailing pop phenomenon CELINE DION while she recorded her latest album Let's Talk About Love. His hour-long documentary based on the sessions will premiere this month at the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival. Filmed at the actual recording sessions for the album at studios in London, Los Angeles and New York, "Let's Talk About Love: The Sessions" was made as an international television special at the request of Sony Music Canada/550 Music, Dion's record label. Lochmus plans to build the current cut into a feature-length documentary on the sessions called "Behind The Pop Screen", using more of the offbeat personal footage captured during his months at the recording studios. The documentary shows pop superstar Celine Dion recording tracks for the new album with a number of celebrated collaborators, including Barbra Streisand, Carole King, the Bee Gees and Luciano Pavarotti. It affords a unique glimpse into the creative process behind a hit album (Let's Talk About Love has sold over 7 million copies in the U.S. alone since its release last November.) The unobtrusive "fly on the wall" style of the documentary also reveals Dion's human side as she discusses songs with producers and songwriters, clowns for Sir George Martin as he photographs her for his personal collection, jokes with friends and family in the studio, and ad-libs other songs between takes. Dion was particularly pleased with the documentary's focus on her live vocal work. "You hear the live vocal instead of coming here [into the sound booth] and hearing what everybody will hear [in the album's final version]," she says. "People who see the show ... will be there with me for the first time." "We developed over 120,000 feet of Super 16mm film, taped 40 plus hours of Wide Screen Digi-Beta and recorded the audio in a 3-D environment," Lochmus explains. "This enabled us to capture an artist, and a history-making record, in a true verite style." Dion concurs: "It looks natural because it is natural", believing that in prior attempts to capture her on film "nobody saw the real me." Lochmus is a much sought-after director for work with pop artists. He has directed television specials for artists as diverse as Oasis, Harry Connick, Jr. and Cracker, and created artist profiles for Boyz II Men, Garbage and Ottmar Liebert. Lochmus has also made numerous highly-regarded music videos for artists like Van Morrison and the Chieftains, the Indigo Girls, Ben Folds Five, and David Lee Roth, while his Celine Dion documentary spawned three music videos of Dion's tracks with Barbra Streisand, the Bee Gees, and Carole King. Excerpts from "Let's Talk About Love: The Sessions" have been broadcast on VH-1, but the festival screening on April 29"' will be its U.S. premiere. Along with the April date at the Screening Room, there will be a second Festival screening of "Let's Talk About Love: The Sessions" on May 4th at NYU's Cantor Hall. so "Let's Talk About Love: The Sessions" was premiered on the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival 1998. I think this is the sessions in Au Coeur Du Stade DVD. I like it very much. Quote Please support the forum by ordering everything through our special Amazon.com link Click here. Thank you!
