Overall, I was really happy with the performance. I agree with the comment about her singers, though. All that aside, I was really excited :)

I didnt love it :confused: She sounded good, but I didnt care for the back up singers (sorry Barnev, Elise and the other chick) and the arrangement was too acoustic. This was the time to add heavy electric guitars and make it sound hard. But it sounded softer then the album version.

That performance was awesome. I love that dress and her moves, I love anything she does but no standing O was so wrong. I would have been screaming.

Oh wow, it's so nice to see Celine back on the awards doing a new song. She looked great and sounded

better than some of the other live TC performances. The crowd responded pretty well too.

 

That was cool of them to show some old footage b4 the commercial, man though when she was singing

Power Of Love she really looked dyk-ish - kinda KD Lang-ish! :sofunny: Gotta love her!

I agree that this is one of the greater performances of TC...she did very well, was into it and had fun with it. Like other people have said, I didn't care too much for the backing vocals either!

I'm a twin mommy just like Celine!

There are no background vocals in the Taking Chances song. What???

 

My friend on the East Coast saw it and called and told me it was all right. He said she held back on the high notes again. That she went into head voice on the high note what do you "saaaaaaay" at the end. Why oh why does she hold back? It's so disappointing IMO. But I've yet to see the performance with my own eyes and ears.

 

:confused: There's never a solid performance with this song, is there? It's always something. I think she should've sung Alone. :down:

haha I totally agree with you about the hair - it made her look so old. She definitely looks better with long hair - and not blonde, either. I definitely wasn't a fan of the blonde hair.

That note is nearly impossible to hit and if done wrong, could be a disaster. I don't think she wants to attempt it when nervous. Seems like celine has lost some confidence as of late. Las Vegas was too comfortable for her. She'll get her confidence back the more she performs. We are a long way from ABM at the Grammies...

I have it recorded on VHS (yeah I know I'm old school and I still use a VCR player LOL) I wish I could up-load it for y'all but I'm sure some one will soon.

It could do without the backing vocals, why did they add them? :confused: The song is too acoustic, I expected her to move around more like the Wetten Dass performance. The best live rendition is still from the Today Show.
