Oh my God, I’ve fallen in love, aaall over again. Celine has got to be THE most adorable, beautiful, charming, lovable thing ever… and her voice?! I mean, I knew she was amazing or else I wouldn’t be such a forum addict lol but she blew me away, BIG time. What a woman.

 

Aah, just had to get that out of my system lol

 

Okay, soo… I tend to ramble, but bear with me

 

(Wednesday)

I don’t know if you know this, but I’m extremely pessimistic and sceptical at times (up til' the night of the show I didn't think it was gonna happen, I was convinced that she was gonna get sick and cancel. And she did! two weeks after, I KNEW it! lol), so of course things started off badly lol The route got extended and the refuelling took forever so when we finally took off we were a bit more than an hour late, grrr (it was cloudless though, so flying over the Canadian and American coastline while listening to Celine’s calm voice was nice). Turns out we weren’t the only ones whose plane got delayed, there were hundreds of people in line in Philadelphia (because of the delay and changed route we only had 30 minutes before our next boarding time, wohoo). I could easily spend 5 minutes explaining this, but basically after an hour of loooong lines, tons of controls and running like crazy to get to the right terminal we finally got to the gate and made it just in time. Everyone was already on the plane and watching us as we (out of breath) sat down in our seats. Talk about embarrassing.

 

Okay, so the worst part is over, right? (After this 18-hour flight + the unexpected little adventure we couldn’t wait to go to bed!)

 

Nu-huh. Time for obstacle #2

 

Guess whose suitcase didn’t show up? Nope, not kidding. Me being my over-emotional self couldn’t stop crying, but the woman at the lost luggage-desk was lovely *hugs to you wherever you are* the sweet thing even went to get me some water

 

Okay, so around 8PM we took the shuttle bus to Caesars and OH.MY.GOOOD! hahaaa, as soon as we stepped out of the bus I completely forgot about the suitcase, “who cares, LOOK at this PALACE?!”. Cause that’s what it is, a palace. We entered the Augustus towers glass doors, and this is a sight I will never forget, I felt like a queen. I’ve been looking at pictures for months, but this was waay more beautiful than I had expected. Simply amazing...

Anyway, check-in went smoothly, not a single person in line, and we got the non-smoking, two queen-beds room we asked for we also asked for a second fridge to keep my insulin in, and we didn’t even have to wait 5 minutes for it. (I think I forgot to say thank you to the poor guy, I was still in shock lol. The room? OMG OMG OMG, worth every penny, definitely not regretting paying the $400/night)

 

Funny thing –I found a coin at Arlanda airport and put it in my pocket, thinking that it may bring luck. I took it out to put it on the desk, but somehow I hit it (the desk) and the coin magically jumped out of my hand and into the wastepaper basket UNDER the table… I let it lie there and what happens next? We get a phone call from the bell desk saying that my suitcase has arrived. Stupid coin, I’m convinced it was you that caused all the problems!! grr lol

 

Aaanyway…

 

(Thursday)

Super-comfy beds + a good night’s sleep + a great breakfast at Café Lago (I’ve heard that the buffet isn’t that great/small selection, but considering that my breakfast normally consists of a simple sandwich and a glass of juice or milk it was a shock to see this, to me, huge selection when I expected something small. And I still don’t know how my dad could eat the bacon, sausage and eggs and stuff, I could neeever do that in the morning or I’d be sick lol. No offence anyone )

 

Anyways, we basically spent the whole day at the Fashion Show Mall and some sightseeing in the evening..

I got a skirt, yay lol

And then we went to Macy’s to look for a perfume for my mother, but “somehow” we ended up among lots and lots of shoes don’t know how that happened

Anyway, a lovely woman named Tanya worked her a** off bringing out what must have been 50 shoeboxes (I have huuuge feet, size 11, they can easily be mistaken for Titanic’s baby twins, seriously. Anyway, since stores here at home only has up to size 10 and therefor I always wear too small shoes, I was in heaven lol) So I left with 5 pair of shoes and 1 pair of boots and dad left with $800 dollars less than he had when we entered lol poor him (we didn’t find that perfume btw )

 

 

(Friday)

After an enormous breakfast we headed for the Forum Shops where we had decided to spend the day, we didn’t want to be too tired cause tonight’s the night! I still wasn’t nervous by the way, but oh so pessimistic lol

I was supposed to buy one of the Louis Vuitton Neverfull bags but I somehow managed to spend too much money before the trip, so I had to decide: “The Bag and no Celine-stuff, or bag later and Celine-stuff now?”

I think you what I chose. Celiiiiine…. (I went a bit crazy in the Celine boutique, and if I hadn’t had my dad there to tell me I couldn’t buy that much stuff I’d be eating nothing but bread and water now lol and I took millions of pics)

Maybe I should get to the point? And that is Celine. Celine, Celine, Celine…

This was when the nervousness started to come, when we passed the box office and saw the open doors, realizing that it’s actually happening! It didn't get cancelled! yaaay. I went straight to the was statue to have our picture taken, I look like crap on it but whatever

 

Okay, so, we were among the first to enter the Colosseum and it’s sooo much smaller than I expected, has anyone else felt that way to? Don’t get me wrong, it’s still big! Not just as big as I thought, and it made it so much more intimate, but I expected the stage to be.. well, bigger… wider… well well, never mind, stop rambling!

 

 

I haven’t seen the show more than once, and in order to do a review of it I would have to see it at least twice, cause my eyes watched Celine’s every move, trying my best to remember every moment, quietly singing along with her… So no real review, but I’ll talk you through my thoughts those wonderful 90 minutes…

 

I was pretty calm up to this moment, but when the lights went down, the music started playing and Celine started singing ANDHC I started shaking and crying like crazy. After all these years my dream was finally coming true... Flawless and beautiful all way through, and I knew from the start that this, the whole trip, was worth everything, just for that one note. I actually like this dress very much even though I’ve heard people say it’s weird.. I liked the fluffy things called arms lol and the reason it look weird to some might be cause she has the white suit underneath? (I didn’t know this before)

It went dark for a second or two, and then TPOL started and she was there, at the same spot, in costume #2.

My love for TPOL has had its ups and downs, right now I kinda like it, 7/10 . But during that performance it really hit me that I was in the presence of the world’s best selling female artist. Her voice here was, to me, phenomenal! Neither bootleg nor CD can ever be that powerful, and the studio-version on TCOL does make me shiver, but nothing like this. The same goes for IACBTMN, technically it might not be as good as on FIY, but I prefer it this way… I’d rather have 100% emotion, than 100% perfection (vocally), but maybe that’s just me… the effects here is something I’ve been longing to see too, with the thunderstorms and sort of 3D effect (I had to focus on Celine or the dancers in TPOL, the blue mess behind made me dizzy lol).

BYLM – lovely. Again, maybe not perfect vocally (but I definitely wouldn’t say nasal, the bootleg sounds horrible in comparison) but still a beautiful song

Don’t really remember that much about TLYM. By now, I was acting like Celine did when she met Barbra Streisand, just staring and drooling... lol no, not drooling, but looking in awe. I couldn’t believe she was real, a real human being! but I do remember the smoke lol

She seemed to have so much fun during IA and she’d say “it’s raining you guys!” to the dancers (yup, we managed to come to Vegas one of the few days it rains, only at night though. But we’re used to rain 365 days/ years so we didn’t care)

I don’t know if there were technical difficulties during IDAL, if she forgot the lines of if she just had to stop and breath lol but there were times where I thought her voice disappeared. Nothing big though, still a great performance

SM - Okay, I don’t know how to explain this, but those of you who’ve been there know what I mean… The intro itself make me shiver, but there was something about the way the chair was slooooowly put into place that... aah, I can’t explain it, but I froze, I was so amazed by the whole intro (and then of course the song and performance itself). I’ve heard so many bad things about it, but I don’t see it, vocally it was perfect, and the way the dancers rolled away at the end? Holy s***, I’d be tired after just one spin and then I’d lie dead on the floor lol. Simply amazing.

Then she sits down, saying that she’d “like to dedicate this song to all the parents and children of the world”, and “especially my very own R-C”. I swear I mimed along with her lol. Her voice here is of course great, and I don’t find IIC boring at all… It was nice to just look at the show, not Celine. The way the tree emerged, the swings, the piano and the bike passing by in the air… so sweet…

After that it was time for PQTME, and I couldn’t help but sing along (quiet of course, don’t want to disturb anyone lol) but I just couldn’t help myself. This is also where I start to cry again, and I do now to, thinking of that moment… Her French music is always a bit *more* than the English, there’s a different feeling to it... whatever it is it reaches deep inside for some reason and I can’t figure out why… maybe it’s because of her, Celine, that I started reading French, and it reminded me of how much she has affected me and my life, or our lives, cause I know a lot of you feel the same way…. I don’t know… Maybe it's just the wonderful lyrics...

Talking about emotional, we all have those songs… those songs that makes us think they we’re made just for us, those songs that has a very, very special place in our hearts for different reasons.. IS is one of mine, and I was almost scared to hear it.. scared because of what it reminds me of, what I’ve had, felt and then lost… that would most likely make me cry even harder than before, and it did… but still so very beautiful, and so powerful.. (the note at the end wasn’t as long as the March 2nd bootleg, but that doesn't matter)

AA, ATW, IGTWOAS and IW passed really quickly, I don’t know what I was doing, must have been hypnotised by her tiny little body (she really is tiny lol) and in the middle of LCMM I realized that it was almost over, aand that I was about to see the sexy little RDMH-dress… (which I thought was more of a gold-tone btw lol) and OH.MY.GOD, Haha, she is one.hot.mama, that’s for sure… I’ve never really liked this song that much, but this performance was definitely one of the best ones tonight, and the way she turned around and shaked her booty was just iiiih lol

Then Celine is gone and the gigantic moon appears, along with the loud “bangs” that you feel in your whole entire body, and then the lady with the enormous dress slowly and majestically floats by… the sadness I felt a second ago vanishes as she appears, now in the “frumpy grandma-dress and messy hair” I’d like to call adorable and beautiful… (I liked all of the costumes) MHWGO. Do I really have to say how amazing it was? I actually wouldn’t have cared if she was out of tune, this is THE song, “that Titanic-song”. It’s Celine, it’s live, It’s MHWGO, how can you possibly complain?

The perfect ending to a perfect evening, to the perfect dream.

 

 

 

 

I’m sorry for the rambling, I just had to tell someone lol. And get it all out… Do whatever you can to see her during her tour, the positive energy she radiates is so strong, she practically sparkles, it’s insane!

 

Did I mention she’s adorable? In one of her speeches she was talking about the rain (I think she said she has seen rain 3 times during her 5 years there) and asked for someone to come and wipe the floor cause there was (wasn’t) water on the stage and she was worried about the dancers.. so two men comes up with towels and one of them was Michel so he’s down on his knees “wiping” and she explains who he is and takes the other guy’s towel and says “this is the difference between my brother and me. He does it like that, I do it like this” and she steps on the towel and starts to like, in loss of better words, “shuffle around” with it lol . I swear to god, it was hilarious… so cute <3

 

And Ramona was there, she got a rose (There were two roses, the first one was given to a lady in what I believe was ORCH 4 AA401, she was adorable, she was dancing around aaaall night long lol so cute)

 

Aaaah, I should really stop rambling now, I don’t even know if anyone bothers to read all of this lol If so, thank you very much

 

 

There are a lot of more things that could be said, but I feel like I’ve rambled on enough already, but I’m just so amazed… it’s silly, I know that it is, but… she SOOOO tiny, it’s adorable… and her voice is so much more.. I can’t find the right word, but there’s something to it that I haven’t felt before, all songs seem better now for some reason… something has changed (for the better)… I love her more than ever!

Great review - made me very nostalgic about my trip from August!

 

I also love your photos! Would there be any chance of you sending me some in their original large sizes? The reason I ask is that my camera experienced some technical troubles over my Las Vegas part of my holiday, so i've lost a large number of my ones around Caesar's and the Celine boutique

 

If there's any chance you could send me some i'd be very grateful, if you'd rather not then that's no problem either!

Oh Frida, we were there that night too and its the first time I've seen the show where I felt Céline went "off-script" so much. It makes the experience so much more enjoyable. We didn't even know it was raining until she said that she'd asked if she could do the show outside and they said no, they wouldn't let her We couldn't stop laughing either at her showing her brother how to wipe the floor.

We didn't even know it was raining until she said that

 

I couldn't sleep at night so I heard it rain rattling on the windows, and then the next morning there were warning signs ("caution wet floor") outside Caesars...

great review, although its weird reading them as i experienced the same thing you did. not the lost baggage but the feeling that the show might be cancelled at the last minute. i too felt that the show went too fast, and all you know it she's already singing MHWGO.
