dumpling Posted October 5, 2007 at 12:14 PM Posted October 5, 2007 at 12:14 PM i just watched the recording session. and i was soooooooooooooooooo amazed by this raw, powerful and emotional song. it's beyond description! i think she just told people the she can really sing via this song.but i was wondering, can this song be sung live?it must hurt her vocal cord to DEATH when she did the roaring part. i don't know if she had the guts to do it in her world tour. it would SURELY damage her vocal cord.ok, maybe once or twice i think. she can do it but not too many times. her voice is not suitable for that kind of singing style though she can do it if she really wants it. Julian Posted October 5, 2007 at 12:16 PM Posted October 5, 2007 at 12:16 PM I really hope she will never sing it live.... She would kill her vocal cords! Quote

Xpresso Posted October 5, 2007 at 12:24 PM Posted October 5, 2007 at 12:24 PM Not a song that can be done live easily I think... Time for her to do some playback like Britney when she promotes this song! Quote
firebird Posted October 5, 2007 at 12:33 PM Posted October 5, 2007 at 12:33 PM Time for her to do some playback like Britney when she promotes this song! It's interesting. Sometimes I read things that make me wonder if I just really read them or if I just imagined them because they are so weird and out of this world that they can't be true. Funny, isn't it?! Quote

Teodora Posted October 5, 2007 at 12:57 PM Posted October 5, 2007 at 12:57 PM Gosh people just relax, will you. Celine is in total control of her voice. It sounds like that because she wants it to sound like that, not because she's on the verge of breaking her voice. That's why it's so amazing, cause we know (you guys should know by now) she does that on purpose, like she does all kind of electric guitar sounds and stuff. It's not hurting her voice, it's a sound she intends to do with her vocal chords. Love that song, from what I've heard from the album so far, this song is my absolute favourite! Quote

Natural vocal decline is another thing. You can't stop it and there's no point.well, first of all, i'm not questioning her ability to interpret such music gener. she can sound WHATEVER she wants with just little effort. But the truth is, singing like that is by no means good to a person's vocal cords. unless you have special vocal cords like Rod Steward or Joss Stone. i personally don't think Celine got a vocal like theirs, since i've listened to her music for over ten years. of course a person's voice wears out as time goes by, but singing this song too often is gonna accelerate the damage. i also believe she know how to sing this song properly and it sounds AMAZING!!! like she is born to sing that kind of music.but please, not too many times, because it hurts. canadachick Posted October 5, 2007 at 01:32 PM Posted October 5, 2007 at 01:32 PM Can someone please post a link so I can hear the song? I searched, but can't find it.... thanks so much! Quote http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l169/gretchenb05/womaninme.jpg "Without music, life would be a mistake."
Céline's Blues Posted October 5, 2007 at 01:37 PM Posted October 5, 2007 at 01:37 PM well, first of all, i'm not questioning her ability to interpret such music gener. she can sound WHATEVER she wants with just little effort. Hurts? I have the impression that it hurst you more in your thoughts hearing Céline and imagining her singing effort hurting her than what in reality this song does to her. She wouldn't have sung it if it hurt her. She's over proving herself to persons. She enjoyed singing this song and it's raw because she wanted it to be and if she will happen to sing it live then she will tone it down like all songs of her - even ABM she performed on lower key than in studio. Not to worry. Quote http://i.imgur.com/dmreJ.jpg

Not to worry.you got the point! the reason why she sing certain of her songs on lower key is because she has her limits and if she tries to push herself to reache that, she might probably fails or wears her voice out. she does know that some songs hurts her voice and she avoids singing then with her true voice she uses other technipues to achieve it. TJTWIM is by no means one song she is never gonna sing like the studio verson. we'll see. Quote

celinerific Posted October 8, 2007 at 02:15 AM Posted October 8, 2007 at 02:15 AM I think it can be done if she wants to. blue.grave Posted October 8, 2007 at 03:04 AM Posted October 8, 2007 at 03:04 AM (edited) As far as I know that Celine has this song owned, she will decide how and when to sing this song on the tour. It is not for to us make such a choice on how Celine uses her vocals. All we can do is pray and see what happens from here. cokecbaby Posted October 8, 2007 at 06:37 PM Posted October 8, 2007 at 06:37 PM She is not hurting her voice by recording it but it is hard on her to sing it, I can say that with all confidence. My father, who is a vocalist, was sitting here watching those sessions with me last night and when he heard that, he immediately commented on the fact that that is hard to do and changing your voice in that way is hard on a person. She isn't going to hurt herself... she knows better but singing this live all the time might be a difficult thing to do. I do LOVE it so far though! It might be a favorite once I hear the whole thing. It kicks butt! Quote "Things turn out best for those who make the best out of the way things turn out." -John Wooden
smw Posted October 8, 2007 at 06:47 PM Posted October 8, 2007 at 06:47 PM I don't think it would be a good idea to add this song to the set list for her tour. But if the tour is recorded, then the song should be added on that night. And she should sing this when promoting the album on television....but only certain shows. (Probably too much for Regis and Kelly, but would be great for Letterman/Leno). Quote
ByuSmurf Posted October 8, 2007 at 07:18 PM Posted October 8, 2007 at 07:18 PM (edited) What song do you think she will perform on Dancing with the Stars? I'm really hoping it will be Eyes on Me, because this song "has a good beat and you can dance to it"!! LOL!! For all of you "young" folks... that is the phrase that was ALWAYS used on Dick Clark's American Bandstand on the "Rate-a-Record" segment when the teen judges liked a song. AND YES... Céline would totally KILL her vocal chords by singing The Woman in Me EVERY show, but I think on an occassion or two... SHE would KILL (be awesome)! Loup_garou Posted October 8, 2007 at 07:28 PM Posted October 8, 2007 at 07:28 PM (edited) But i have the feeling she will.....remember that at the beginning the title of the album was going afer this song....and how much she emphases on how many years passed by and her not being able to record the song...she has a really special bond towards this song......so I guess we'll have to see I TJTWIM Edited October 8, 2007 at 07:28 PM by Loup_garou Quote
