Feidhlimbrennan Posted September 29, 2007 at 12:48 AM Posted September 29, 2007 at 12:48 AM Earlier today in the UK Céline's 'MHWGO' was voted on a BBC3 poll as the most irritating song in pop history, and while some of us might agree we have to admit it is Céline's career song. It was one of those shows where D-list celebrities slated who ever they were chosen to speak about and whilst the majority of UK minor celeb's slated Céline, Joel Stein of the LA Times said 'Come on guys we dont love the song because of the movie, we love the movie because of the song' Later in the interview he went on to say, 'seriously don't poke fun at Céline, if you do i'm walking out, so can we please move on' how awesome is he! aww totally having a celine moment right now! I decided to have a glass of wine from my Céline wine glass to celebrate someone (who isnt a regular Céline fav) from the media speaking up for Céline! Quote Instagram: @feidhlimb

salsacolin Posted September 29, 2007 at 01:30 AM Posted September 29, 2007 at 01:30 AM (edited) Yeah totally I also watched that show and most of the people who commented actually liked the song.... except that weird woman who said you couldn't understand what she was singing which I couldn't fathom cos Celine's diction is perfectly fine, every word in MHWGO is perfectly clear. She is clearly a muppet Edited September 29, 2007 at 01:30 AM by salsacolin Quote I never even knew the song the orchestra was playing........ He loves Celine... BUT, who doesn't...? Celine rocks... Céline does ROCK, personally i can't wait for this ' unprecedented marketing Blitz' so far in the UK radio stations aren't even playing TC, I emailed a few of the main radio stations in the country last week and they replied saying that they didn't even know Céline was releasing a new record! Even with x-factor and the tour etc SONYBMG needs SERIOUS work in the UK to supporte any kind of tour. I know, well I think i remember fans on this site saying that Céline is supposed to spend most of October in Europe promoting the album, but seriously it can't come any sooner! TC has no chance in the UK with only HMV posting a review. Personally I'd love to see Céline on Loose Woman (UK Version of The View) that would rock!!!! Quote Instagram: @feidhlimb
gmany Posted September 29, 2007 at 03:35 AM Posted September 29, 2007 at 03:35 AM That was so nice! I really get offended when somebody says something bad about Celine. It's like if Celine was my relative or someone very close to me. I know that's weird, but that's what I feel. LOVE YA CELINE! Quote
boyblackuk Posted September 29, 2007 at 07:40 AM Posted September 29, 2007 at 07:40 AM Does anyone know who the people were and I will tell you what kind of celebrity they are. To be honest I think these people are so jealous they cant stand it. Its always the biggest selling singles that get slated. and at the end of the day the only people they are slagging off are those 15+ million who bought it and who do they thing they are doing that. Honestly I am not as fond as MHWGO as much as I am others but that is just way below the belt. We can take pleasure in knowing that it is one of the biggest selling singles of all time and F**k anyone who has anything to say about it. Quote

Love, Posted September 29, 2007 at 02:56 PM Posted September 29, 2007 at 02:56 PM (edited) Celine is z-list? Check again. As far as I know, she's always been a-list. In all the media circles, she's always proclaimed. Having little people talk smack about her is a common thing because they say these things about everyone. But down to it all, Celine's highly regarded everywhere. Edited September 29, 2007 at 02:59 PM by Love, Quote
Shaun Posted September 29, 2007 at 03:09 PM Posted September 29, 2007 at 03:09 PM Sadly this is very much the norm in the UK. The mainstream media just love to slate Celine! Whether it be print, tv, radio or online the whole of UK journalism love to make Celine look pathetic and so too the people who like her. Arguably the reason for this is all down to the success of "My Heart Will Go On." There is no doubt the success of that song did annoy some people and even the fans are getting a bit tired of it but whatever Celine has done since "My Heart Will Go On" in the UK, the media always refer to "the My Heart Will Go On crooner" or such like. Forget the success of TTWII or A New Day Has Come they ALWAYS refer to MHWGO. Celine and Sony NEED to change the opinion of the media in the UK by getting right behind "Taking Chances", both the single and the album, because simply put, she needs a hit here. It's been too long. Shows like "The X Factor" will help re-establish Celine among younger music listeners but more needs to be done, having Celine's songs played on Radio 2 three times a week isn't enough. Sony UK need, no MUST, do more!! Quote Bringing you the world's only Celine Dion podcast show since 2014.Find us on Soundcloud, Apple Podcasts, Spotify & Amazon Music.
Davey84 Posted September 29, 2007 at 05:13 PM Posted September 29, 2007 at 05:13 PM I KNOW I KNOW!! She should sing MHWGO at The X Factor :D People can say all they want but if everybody hates that song... why did it sell over 10 million singles?? firebird Posted September 29, 2007 at 05:27 PM Posted September 29, 2007 at 05:27 PM (edited) It's funny how the media influence people. They say: You listen to Morrisey, you drink Whiskey? Obviously you're in. You listen to Celine Dion, you drink apple juice? Obviously you're out. They tell people what to think, and it's things like looking almost like a rebel if you admit you love MHWGO that show us how far this can go Edited September 29, 2007 at 05:29 PM by firebird Quote
tal-sh2 Posted September 29, 2007 at 05:42 PM Posted September 29, 2007 at 05:42 PM Well, maybe I'm the only one doubt? That's my favorite movie, and it amazing ! Of course that Celine's song is so special but the truth - I thinks that even without MHWGO I was thought this is an awsome movie! But yes, Celine is the things that complete him to be really perfect. Xpresso Posted September 30, 2007 at 10:28 PM Posted September 30, 2007 at 10:28 PM It's natural - the more success you get, the more annoyed people get... simple, isn't? Oh well, the best part is that Celine keeps going and will get another big album all over the world, no matter what people say!! Quote
