If you haven't booked a room yet, whatever you do, do not book at the Imperial. From mediocre food at the restaurants to the substandard rooms to the broken-down elevators and the poorly soundproofed ceilings (judging by the frequency of the squeeking bed above me, they must have been newlyweds) Harrah's has purchased this property and it is apparently scheduled for demolition - not a minute too soon.The ONLY advantage is that it's right across the street from Caesar's. On a positive saw Celine on Thur & Sat and she put on a great show (was I expecting something else?!). As well, she looked phenomenal It's just really sad to think that I won't see her again, at least in Vegas.During Saturday's show we exchanged winks during RDMH (I know 'cause I smiled and winked first and she immediately winked back!! What a great memory) On Friday I had the pleasure of meeting DianaL, her fiance and her baby girl (so cute in your matching We 'Heart' Celine tanktops!!) and I must say they received some very special treatment at Saturday's show. Put aside all of the waves and blown kisses - the big hug at the end of the show was great to see. What an even bigger memory for them!! Celine graciously accepted their stuffed frog gift and playfully waved goodnight to all of the dancers with it as they left the stage.... my gosh, more great lasting memories. Ever since the 1996 Olympics where she sang "Power of a Dream" at the opening Ceremonies. Since then I've seen Celine Dion live. I went to the taping where Celine performed with "Elvis" for Idol Gives Back (one of the best Idol related experiences in my life) and this past weekend, I went to Vegas to see Celine's show. It was absoliutely Amazing! I too stayed at the Imperial hotel. It kind of sucked but it was the only hotel we could find with a availabilities and reasonable price. After all, a hotel room for me is just a place to sleep in, not a place to hang out in. Spent most of the time at Caesar's Palace though...the shopping area, the boutique, and of course, the Celine show (the highlight of the trip). Only thing good about the Imperial is that I won big at the penny slots at the casino. I won back all the money I lost playing the penny slots in Caesar's Palace and more! =D Quote

I went to that show on Saturday! I sat in the 2nd mezzanine level though. However I did see Celine accept the green frog! It was so adorable! As I type this (7:50pm Vegas time) I am visualizing the people heading into Celine Dion Theatre (from a different topic!! LOL) - I am so jealous. As I said earlier in the topic I am having a hard time dealing with the knowledge that I will not be seeing her again before 12/15. But last Saturday's memories will last a long long time.To answer a question earlier, DianaL and her daughter were shown on the big screen before the show - as mentioned, they were wearing their cute matching We 'Heart' Celine shirts.Forty minutes till Celine comes out.......wish I was there... If I had wanted to spend more time in Vegas, and had more money, I would have spent more money on a hotel. So if all you want is a room for the night...IP is a'ok. IP is in the center of the strip, it's right across from our dear Celine (Colosseum), near the monorail, and reasonably priced. Who can asked for anything more really...besides who's going to be in their room anyway; I know I'm not!! I'm only there for 3 days and I'm going to make the most of it...wooohoooo!!! But thank you really; my partner and I are booked from Dec 5 to 8 and we see Celine on the 7th. We have requested a Deluxe room facing the Colloseum, but Non-smoking more important. IF any of you are going to be there that early, please PM me. I'm super excited and grateful for all the help I got on here. Be well everyone, T.
