celinerific Posted September 24, 2007 at 10:17 PM Posted September 24, 2007 at 10:17 PM (edited) Hello lovely people of whom I love so dearly! As some of you perhaps already know, I'm part of a choral group called "A-Singers". It's simply a choir made up of approximately 120 people. Pretty amazing, isn't? Anyhoo. I'd love to share the music that we sing with all you lovely people. Most of these probably won't be the actual recording of us singing it, but simply a piece that a professional group recorded in an actual recording studio. On some occasions I'll be able to get someone I know to sneak in my MP3 player to record the performance, so those are the times when you can hear us actually singing. So the first piece of which I would like to share is a piece by Mozart called Lacrymosa. It's in Latin and is a creepy song about dead people coming back to be judged. Our version of it is a bit more powerful and "in your face". If I can get a sneak into rehearsals, I'll post it. Anyhoo, here it is... (Note: I think they spelled it wrong on YouTube because on the score it's spelled with a "y" ) Lacrymosa (From the "Requiem")By Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart I'd love to hear feedback on the song. stevethefan Posted October 6, 2007 at 04:38 AM Posted October 6, 2007 at 04:38 AM It's a very beautiful peace of music. I'm sure you will, or are, having a lot of fun singing it in your group. That Mozart was one righteous dude! Quote
celinerific Posted October 6, 2007 at 08:34 PM Author Posted October 6, 2007 at 08:34 PM Hahaha. You can surely say that again! Apparently, according to the score, he only wrote the first eight measures of this song. Someone wrote the rest based on the eight bars that he wrote. celinerific Posted October 27, 2007 at 04:37 AM Author Posted October 27, 2007 at 04:37 AM (edited) Bleh. I didn't sneak in a recording. I was told no electronics at first, and then I get there and I see people texting away on their phones and our conductor tells us to do whatever we want, as long as we stay quiet. My reaction was "Why didn't anyone tell me earlier??" So I didn't get a recording, but I can tell you the title of the song if you ever feel like looking it up It's a Frenchy"Le Temps De Vivre"It's a really pretty song. Very sweet. I think Mylene Farmer sings it somewhere on Youtube. Edited October 27, 2007 at 04:38 AM by celinerific Quote http://i58.tinypic.com/2qbub9c.png @ErikaTran | Insta: aireexwp | erikatran.com
