Chula Posted October 25, 2008 at 05:36 PM Posted October 25, 2008 at 05:36 PM Michael Jackson will play a 30 date world tour in 30 different cities around the world next year, according to reports. The singer flew to Los Angeles from his home in Las Vegas earlier this week to finalise details for the jaunt with his managers. Jackson, who hasn’t toured since he was cleared of child molestation charges in 2005, is said to have discussed his plans with a fan. “Michael said he wasn’t doing a Vegas residency but was going on a world tour, taking in 30 cities next year,” the fan told the Sun newspaper. “He said he wanted to do it for his kids. He wants them to see what he does, and he wants to take them on the road.” Earlier this year, Jackson was rumored to be in talks to perform a residency in Las Vegas. http://www.gigwise.com/artists/Image/200michaeljacko.jpg http://www.gigwise.com/news/47046/Michael-...Date-World-Tour I hope I can joy this tour in the Venetian arena again! ZoraSourit Posted October 25, 2008 at 05:40 PM Posted October 25, 2008 at 05:40 PM I don't think his nose will hold on for an entire world tour. That's nice to year though. Michael was huge in the 90's... the music industry surely misses him. Koolan Posted March 5, 2009 at 06:20 PM Posted March 5, 2009 at 06:20 PM LONDON, England (CNN) -- Reclusive pop icon Michael Jackson will perform 10 concerts in London in July in what he described Thursday as a "final curtain call."Michael Jackson announces the London dates at the O2 Arena. The summer shows, Jackson's first major live performances in 12 years, will take place at the O2 Arena from July 8. Jackson appeared in front of fans and media at the venue Thursday to announce the "This Is It" shows. "This is it. These will be my final shows performing in London. "This Is It" really means this is it," Jackson said. "I'll be performing the songs my fans want to hear. This is the final curtain call. I'll see you in July and I love you so much." Tickets for the shows will cost £50-75 ($70-105) and will go on sale on March 13. Fans can pre-register to purchase tickets at www.MichaelJacksonLive.com. He took no questions at the brief news conference and it was not immediately clear if Jackson meant the concerts were his "curtain call" for London or the wider world. Jackson was more than 90 minutes late for the announcement that lasted about three minutes. In a statement on the O2 Web site, the 20,000-seat venue had invited Jackson fans to see a "special announcement" -- and to sign up for ticket alerts. A few hundred die-hard fans turned up for the event. The O2 Arena has acquired a reputation in recent years for staging "must-see" musical events. Last year it hosted Led Zeppelin's one-off comeback gig and in 2007 Prince staged a 21-night residency there. Britney Spears, the Pet Shop Boys and Lionel Richie are among performers due to play the venue this year. Jackson fans said they had come down to show their support for their idol. Video Watch as Michael Jackson prepares for comeback » "Michael is the best performer in the world," said 28-year-old Joanne English. "I haven't seen him perform before and that's the reason why I definitely want to get tickets to go."Don't Miss English said she thought the media had given Jackson a hard time. "As his fans we want to say to him that we love him, he needs to be strong and give us a good show and we will always support him." "We want to see if he's still got it," added 23-year-old Vanessa Walker. Jackson, a child star with the Jackson Five who went onto enjoy stellar solo success with classic albums such as "Thriller" and "Bad," has rarely been seen in public since he was acquitted on child molestation charges in the U.S. in 2005. Rumors of financial difficulties and health problems -- in 2008 he was photographed being pushed in a wheelchair -- have swirled around the famously eccentric star in recent years. Last year he sold his iconic Neverland ranch and he has spent much of his time since his acquittal living in Bahrain. The auction house, Julien's, is selling Jackson's Neverland property including the gates, the singer's famed white-jeweled glove and a stretched Rolls Royce. Video Watch what Jackson memorabilia is being sold »advertisement Jackson hasn't recorded a studio album since "Invincible" -- his 10th solo record -- in 2001. His last major series of concerts was a world tour to promote the "HiStory" album in 1996 and 1997. "Thriller," released in 1982 and containing classic Jackson hits such as "Beat It," "Billie Jean" and the title track, is the bestselling album of all time. Jackson is estimated to have sold more than 750 million albums in total.http://www.cnn.com/2009/SHOWBIZ/Music/03/0...back/index.html Did he really sell 750 million albums? WOW the tickets are really cheap!! he could have asked 100 - 150 pounds for sure!! but yeah, I don't think he can do 10 consecutive shows.... he'll need a lot of breaks... also why is he only performing in London?! Shouldn't he be performing in the USA aswell? mirage Posted March 5, 2009 at 09:11 PM Posted March 5, 2009 at 09:11 PM soo cooool :D i wonder if these shows are really that last ones... "Jackson meant the concerts were his "curtain call" for London or the wider world" so who knows maybe he will do some more!i'm curious to know why he decided to have a comeback like this, for years there were rumours. And now out of the blue he is doing 10 shows in London in July haha. Still cant believe it is true!! wonder when his new cd is coming out then, it's a weird order, just 10 shows, then a new cd... but who knows ;-)he needs tha money imagine celine announcing her comeback like that, with all of us there Quote
celinefanonline Posted March 5, 2009 at 09:18 PM Posted March 5, 2009 at 09:18 PM (edited) u know i just saw some footage of michael's comeback press conference.... and oh my... what happen to his face?? it's worse than before....... and his mouth!!!? it's bigger...... yes i think he needs the money Edited March 5, 2009 at 09:21 PM by celinefanonline Quote Courage don't you dare fail me now!
Black Kitten Posted March 6, 2009 at 12:17 AM Posted March 6, 2009 at 12:17 AM i'm wondering if he can still sing and dance. he just needs the money. about the Thriller album, it has sold 104M copies, but 750M records all in all? i HIGHLY doubt it. his Off the Wall album sold about 12M, Bad sold 30M, Dangerous sold 28M, HIStory sold 18M (36M in units as it's a double album), Blood on the Dance Floor sold 6M, and Invincible sold 8M, that would bring a 206M in total. where did they get the remaining 550M? compilations? box sets? the Jackson 5's albums? The Jackson's albums? mehh.... Quote
