GoldenLeaf Posted September 17, 2007 at 01:36 AM Posted September 17, 2007 at 01:36 AM (edited) Guys, what do you think about those people ? Do you think they are troubled youths ? Do you think they should get a life ? Please, leave your thoughts! Edited September 17, 2007 at 01:37 AM by Calypso Quote
KimboCosmo Posted September 17, 2007 at 01:40 AM Posted September 17, 2007 at 01:40 AM They are people who need help and need friends. I have an emo friend, and I would never tell him to get a life. They are very smart, very creative people too, if someone would just hear their tiny voices. That is my thoughts on it... They are human just like us! But sadly, there's too many people that think they're crazy and abnormal. Quote
Mozinha Posted September 17, 2007 at 02:16 AM Posted September 17, 2007 at 02:16 AM I honestly don't care... I mean, I see it as a phase, maybe they'll grow out of it. cdclore Posted September 17, 2007 at 05:00 AM Posted September 17, 2007 at 05:00 AM What about them? They just see the world a little differently. Most "emo kids" these days aren't really "emo" in the first place. Recently, it's just grown into a style that has become "trendy" in the past few years. Quote
Love, Posted September 17, 2007 at 06:12 AM Posted September 17, 2007 at 06:12 AM (edited) There are lots of ways to be "emo." There's emo hairstyleThere's emo musicThere's emo clothing styleThere's emo outlook-on-lifeetc. etc. The word emo has taken on a negative connotation by people who don't know its definition. It deals more with being reflective, sensitive, introspective, and quiet - as in taking time to be at peace, to be expressive... and to love. They are people who need help and need friends. I have an emo friend, and I would never tell him to get a life. They are very smart, very creative people too, if someone would just hear their tiny voices. That is my thoughts on it... Yep, I agree! Don't get me started on the crazy and abnormal: I can apply these adjectives to many Celine fans! Edited September 17, 2007 at 06:15 AM by Love, Quote
firebird Posted September 17, 2007 at 09:27 AM Posted September 17, 2007 at 09:27 AM The word emo has taken on a negative connotation by people who don't know its definition. It deals more with being reflective, sensitive, introspective, and quiet - as in taking time to be at peace, to be expressive... and to love. I thought originally it came from the music scene. First there were those people who listened to the emo music and developped a certain style, fashion and later it became more and more mainstream. Just like everyone's running around in hip hop outfits these days. Now "emo" is kind of a brand, like you said that consists of many factors: music, style, fashion, way of speaking, thinking etc. It must be different than just being short for "emotional" cause other wise they'd just call it "emotional" not "emo" http://icanhascheezburger.files.wordpress.com/2007/01/2001819576783355739_rs.jpg Quote

A New Day Has Come Posted September 17, 2007 at 10:19 PM Posted September 17, 2007 at 10:19 PM There are so many Emo kids at my school that are a bite weird. I think some kids are emo so they can get attenching from other people or they have a bad home life. Or they just feel longly or the music they listen to doesn't help at all. I hang out with emo kids they are pretty cool overall. Quote
-annica- Posted October 9, 2007 at 03:26 PM Posted October 9, 2007 at 03:26 PM I think they are smart people too, but a little trubled. I mean; what is the point cutting wrist and things like that...?Somebody should help them Quote
cdclore Posted October 9, 2007 at 04:06 PM Posted October 9, 2007 at 04:06 PM I mean; what is the point cutting wrist and things like that...? Cutting isn't necessarily an emo trait. Quote

There was an emo girl who studied at the same college as me and she commited suicide last week by hanging herself. According to some people she suffered from major depression. Quote
Black Kitten Posted February 6, 2008 at 02:51 AM Posted February 6, 2008 at 02:51 AM (edited) what's wrong with emos? i think they're just normal but quite misunderstood. EMO means EMOTIONAL HARDCORE. the people who wear eye liners, wear black clothes, black lipsticks, etc. it has become a trend. i like it actually. im no way an emo kid, but i understand them. they're just misunderstood. and look at some celine's taking chances pics. they look somewhat 'emo'. the eyes, the 'black mood', especially the centerfold. the eyes! TheOne Posted February 6, 2008 at 10:39 PM Posted February 6, 2008 at 10:39 PM It depends... when you're talking about sreiously depressed kids, well they should be helped. However, I think nowadays it has become more of a fashion thing, like "let's be so depressed" and stuff. To most emos I would say to get a life. Most of them are just spoiled rich brats who have way too much time and money in their hands. Quote
