Celine gave a wonderful wrap up party for her entire staff(from her dancers and musicians to ushers and box office staff), a few hundred people attended poolside at Caesar's on September 10, 2007.

She greeted each guest personally(including myself) and the theme was that she "loved " us hence the wedding dress with "I Love You" right down to tablecloths with Love written on them and little cupcakes with Love written on the icing. A little blurb was written in the LV Review Journal about her and Rene greeting EVERY guest personally.

She was warm and gracious listening intently to every word I said to her.

Elegant and unforgettable are 2 words to describe that wonderful evening. Later she left in a knee length black dress and looked stunning waving goodbye to the few remaining people.

A night to remember!! Thank you Celine and we love you too!

A visit at Céline Dion's

 

One would have always wanted to be invited to a party by a world star. It may very well be Céline Dion, one of the most successful pop singers of all time, like they say. Everyone who saw "Titanic" in the cinema sinking, knows her voice. And it's simply beautiful, has more than 3 octaves and sounds as if Alive in wonderland had made a singing career instead of battling some white rabbits.

 

Of course one invites people not without a reason to Las Vegas: 15^th of December marks the last time that the fabulously twisted show "A New Day" will be performed on stage – after 5 years, during which she has performed 5 times a week in front of sold out crowds in Caesar's Palace's Colosseum. Another reason would be for example the premiere of her new CD "Taking Chances" and the upcoming next-year's tournee which will lead her also to Cologne.

 

A rainbow album

 

With the title song of the new album "Taking Chances" which comes out beginning November, Céline Dion shows herself as more than a singer who can convey most different layers of emotion with her voice. The timing of the song is perfect: it rises from quiet guitar sounds till juicy, thrusting beats kick in, from idyllic beginning until the powerful explosion. Dion is at her best when mastering the keyboard of musical emotion with dreamgazing conviction. That she is capable of more than mainstream show songs like "Eyes On Me" or "That's Just The Woman Of Me". The first one enchants with oriental sounds, the other one is one heavy rock number that reminds of the best years of Tina Turner: a rainbow album that will surely surprise not only her fans or fans-to-be.

 

About that we're hearing at this party around the Apollo swimming pool at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas – there are more revisions of it. Every guest – and there are more and more appearing – have to wear black and white plus a mask. The men are allowed to borrow a suit, the women their own warderobe.

 

Then there she stands, the perfectly styled woman of the evening at the entrance and greets every single one of the 900 guests pro hand shake – similar so Audrey Hepburn as Queen in "One Heart, One Crown". For each and everyone she has a nice word. She mastered the art of small talk – talk much without saying anything – I'm envious.

 

The effort that has been made for the last goodbye from the theatre that hosts about 4000 people each night is remarkable. Artificial walls have been built; the pool has been covered with a stage; white pillows all around it with penguin-like guest mass standing around. The champagne in the plastic faggots tastes sweet.

 

Céline dances on the stage and thanks all of her musicians and equipe and emphasizes that the mask that we're wearing bears our true selves. A little cryptic, but whatever. She surely has put some thought into it. In the meantime there are many cleaners making sure all the ground is prim.

 

The day after we're invited to the roof top of Ceaser's Palace's top suite – a dream if you love the decorations-overkill. Here you have them – the golden bath tubs, many mirrors to check if your hair is on point. Céline's hair is on point. Irritatingly she's wering excessively much make up as if she was supposed to go out on stage afterwards. You can't do any photos of her.

 

Family instead of diva

 

Céline is adorable, natural and eloquent. And she can laugh big time. When a colleague complimented her, she told a story that one of her brothers – she's one of 14 – has also such nice hair with tresses. And that her mother forbid her father to cut his children's hair. In general you see Céline Dion more like a family oriented person than a diva. In the boulevard press you rarely find her since she is not living a sensations filled life: "I rarely go out, I don't take drugs", she says. She lives in a Las Vegas house 35 minutes away from the Colosseum, in a district where normal families live, people go to church and school, to follow their dreams.

 

Almost too good to be true. But it's true: Around the little girl that ever since she was 12 wanted to become a world famous artist there are as good as no rumours. When her son Rene Charles was born in 2001 she stopped doing music for a year and a half. The father is the manager at the same time. One would like to know more about this balance between business and private life and how it works so well and about this all-around-24/7-care: but nobody dares to ask this question however. She would have known the answer to that one surely, too. For example: "You can believe in your destiny or not." The one she has is about being a world star. Not the worst of all.

my ultimate was sitting 4 rows in caesars TWICE , it was the most amazing experiance EVER!. Hovewer I cound not sing not even move my lips along with any songs, becouse firts of all my mascara wansnt waterproof and was holding my throat tight not to cry!!!
