Teodora Posted September 14, 2007 at 08:37 PM Posted September 14, 2007 at 08:37 PM That's great! I'm so happy for you! I know how that feels, I went through the same process, here in Romania. It's so nerverecking! Congratulations! Quote
Elaine Posted September 14, 2007 at 10:09 PM Posted September 14, 2007 at 10:09 PM I can also relate to you Bellamy. When I applied for a US Tourist Visa last July here in Manila, I just indicated in the 'What's the purpose of your trip?' that I want to celebrate my birthday in Vegas with my parents and see Celine Dion's A New Day Show. During the interview, the consul immediately said, "So you want to see Celine Dion eh?" then she smiled at me. I said, "Yes of course, Im such a fan of her music." There I was, I got approved and got a 10 year multiple entry tourist visa. I'll be watching the concert on December 8. Will you be in Vegas in the 9th?? I'm arriving there on that day and it'd be nice to meet new friends at the show! It`s actually quite a mission to get visas. I had to wait 3 months to get one to go for a week to Paris, which is only 3 hours from me Joys of coming from a 3rd world country At least I live in the capital of China. SO I can get interviewed in the same city. But I have to pay more than $100 bucks for the interview!! Stupid VISA interview. Well, Today I paid R$ 400, the equivalent of $200... And I still gotta pay the amount necessary if the visa is aproved plus the taxes of having the passport delivered at home! That really sucks! But that's ok, all in the name of céline! My interview is next week... I just can't wait for it!! Quote http://img807.imageshack.us/img807/1352/opo3.jpg
KimboCosmo Posted September 15, 2007 at 05:10 AM Posted September 15, 2007 at 05:10 AM @kimbocosmo.....Ooh yes it is harder nowadays to get a US tourist visa because of that fear in terrorism. They have to scan and scrutinize every people wanting to go to your country. It is a need to have that interview so that we are allowed to enter your country as required by your laws. The expiration for your Visa depends on the embassy from which it was issued. I think the longest that they can give is 10 years but of course your maximum stay in the country is only 6 months (I think ?!?) and you have to go back to your country of origin or else, they would suspect you of overstaying. I can go to other Southeast Asian countries without a Visa but for the others, just like the US, I have to apply for it. Ahhh, ok...gotcha! That seems like ALOT of trouble! :kicking: :kicking: Kim: It`s actually quite a mission to get visas. I had to wait 3 months to get one to go for a week to Paris, which is only 3 hours from me Joys of coming from a 3rd world country That's crazy! Bellamy Posted September 15, 2007 at 04:06 PM Author Posted September 15, 2007 at 04:06 PM Are you gonna be bothered when we call you Bellamy instead of Lin ? I'm sure I remember Vic saying people were calling him Koolan in Vegas ?? No. I won't. I prefer you call me Bellamy maybe. Cause just call my Chinese first name sounds weird to me. Chinese only call other's first name only if their relationship are very very close. Quote Please support the forum by ordering everything through our special Amazon.com link Click here. Thank you!

celinestyle Posted September 16, 2007 at 03:51 AM Posted September 16, 2007 at 03:51 AM OMG. I got my VISA to the USA today. I passed the VISA interview!!!!!!!!!! I went to the USA embassy in Beijing today for VISA interview. A 30 years old lady interviewed me. She ask me why I want to go to the USA. I told her I would go to watch Celine Dion's A New Day show in Las Vegas. She ask me why. I told her I'm a super fans, and I want to watch the last few A New Day shows in December. And then she discussed with a man beside her for a while. And then she asked me what's the Celine Dion website you made according to your form. I told her it is the biggest Celine Dion fans forum worldwide. She asked me what's the URL. I told her, and she browsed on her computer. She also asked if I had seen her before. I told her no, cause she hadn't been to China before. This will be my first time to see my idol live. And then she told me "You can go to USA". And then she said "Who can say no to Celine Dion". I was so tempted to ask her if she's a fans at that time. But I only asked her if she had met super fans want to go to USA just for watching concerts. She said no, you're the first crazy fans I met. Las Vegas, I'm coming!!!!!!! :groupwave: And special thanks to Ramona for everything you did for me. It's nice for you.. I'm going to Las Vegas in December, too. When do you go to there? I'll be staying from 4th Dec to 10th Dec. Do you already buy the tickets? I bought only 1 ticket for Team Celine members. All tickets in Ticketmaster.com were sold out. Do you have any ideas for buying tickets? Quote

augusto Posted September 17, 2007 at 08:08 PM Posted September 17, 2007 at 08:08 PM That's really great, Bellamy!! But only when you arrive in US you'll really know how long the Immigration Department will allow you to stay!! I have a 5 years VISA, and I went this month again to Las Vegas. The first time I traveled to US, I went first to NY, where I stayed a few days, and them to Las Vegas. No problem, no questions, really easy to entry in US. Now, there was a connecting in Houston, where we attend to the Immigration interview. They did a lot of questions to me, how much money I have, credit cards, why I want to go to Las Vegas, about my job in Brazil... Be sure you will not shaking this time, like I did!! After the interview, they gave me 6 months to stay in US. Besides this, when I took my luggage, I was the only one (as I know) to have luggage in X-ray. The official opened my luggage and did a search, and also did a lot of more questions... the same questions... This time, I explained that I want to see A New Day... at Caesar's Palace, the Celine Dion' show. The woman asked me: "Who is Celine Dion"? Then I said: The one from "My heart will go on, beauty and beast, because you loved me"... I thought she wants me to sing the songs... Then I took my Team Céline meambership card to show her... and everything about Celine and the show I had with me... Also I told her how long I follow Celine's carreer... Even the price of the ticket she asked me... and she said it was too expensive... so I said: "and I got 2"!! After all, I think there will not be a next time!! They would send me back!! Anyway, GOOD LUCK!! and be sure you will travel with enough money and enough proof that you'll return to you country!! Erin Posted September 17, 2007 at 09:23 PM Posted September 17, 2007 at 09:23 PM ^ hahaha! oh my god - this reminds me of the time I almost got arrested at the Canadian border!! I'm from Massachusetts and I love Montreal, so when 1F4T came out, I decided I'd drive up to montreal and watch the TVA special and buy all the versions of the cd from archambault, all the magazines she was on, etc (yeah, obviously, any excuse to go to montreal is good enough for me). Well, I just drove up by myself and spent a night up there. I had no problem getting into Canada, but USA didn't want to let me back in! hah - I guess it sounded shifty that I wasn't going up there to meet anyone and I was by myself, and I kept telling them I was a Celine fan, etc. what did i buy? um, celine albums, magazines... Well, this wasn't good enough for them! obviously, they do not know how we celine fans are! hee I had to pull over to the US customs building and go inside and fill out paperwork while they searched my entire car (and seriously - I had everything - including a piece of Celine chocolate cake on the backseat!! LOL). They literally went through EVERYTHING in my luggage, etc, and I had to wait inside for a while. Then the customs people came inside literally LOL-ing and saying "i guess you are a celine fan!" and they asked if I had been to vegas, which of course I had - so we talked about that... and then they sent me on my way. they thought i was trafficking drugs, but all they found was some celine dion paraphernalia. what a disappointment!
