She hasn't a thing to prove to anyone, let alone herself. She's the best. That's all. And we'll all enjoy that with her as long as she continues to release new albums. I love her Quote

Mozinha Posted September 8, 2007 at 01:26 PM Posted September 8, 2007 at 01:26 PM One thing is opinion. Another thing is the facts. Celine said she doesn't need to prove anything, she is just enjoying what she is doing. She said it, it's a fact. Facts are what really matters. And IMHO she has the right atitude! Thomas Posted September 8, 2007 at 01:28 PM Posted September 8, 2007 at 01:28 PM she still wants to return to the status where she was in the mid 90'sI don't think she does. She's recognized for her first name only almost everywhere in the world. She travelled the world, sold out venues, sold millions of records, won hundreds of records. And she isn't 40 yet. And when she was at the greatest of her carrer she decided to bow out gracefully. I give her props for that. I hope she does the best that she can and want to do... but seriously, what really matters is that she's happy and she's having lots of fun. Tcherno, think with me. Why would she want that? She has done that a million times. She has everything any gal wishes for. She has health, love, family, happiness, success and money. She has an amazing fan base that loves and supports her and buys every single record, dvd or book she makes. Why would she want to have a #1 record or single. C'mon, she's the biggest female artist in the music history. She doesn't need that. She's more in a Barbra Streisand, Elvis or The Beatles state now then a Mariah Carey, Britney or Kelly Clarkson state. She simply doesn't need it anymore. She's done all she wanted and continues to do so. But I think it would be enough for her to produce an album that her fans enjoy and will sing along with on her new tour, and if the critics like then that's great too. She doesn't need another Grammy or another Music Award, she has plenty on her shelves already. And she certainly doesn't need any more money. So being the biggest and the best doesn't make any difference because even sales of 20 million copies wouldn't make her any cooler or more successful. She wasn't cool in the 90's and she wouldn't be cool now, so whether she is number one or number 20 has little difference on her position in the industry. And besides, I doubt Celine would be interested in the work that would be needed to get her back to the levels of commercial success she had in the 90's. She would far rather be sat at home with her family, and who can blame her? She's been there and done that. Let her enjoy the ride like she wants to! We really should be thankful that she's still around making music and touring because apart from the fact I don't think she would want to be working that hard again, I think if she had to do the stuff she used to do she would call it quits and walk away from showbusiness tomorrow. Celinenvegas Posted September 8, 2007 at 02:02 PM Posted September 8, 2007 at 02:02 PM That's a great statement and it's very freeing also. It allows her to do what SHE wants and not conform to the current "pop" trend like many artists do. An artists can get very stgnant doing the same old thing or always trying to keep up with the current trend - they are followers - Celine is her own person doing what she feels in her heart! They need to prove that they still want her, that they still like her music and believe in her so fans get the best editions, the best singles and the best promotion possible! Isn't that right??
