He was 71. Pavarotti had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last year and underwent further treatment in August 2007. Rest in peace.. I can't say I'm a huge fan or anything but this man was legendary. He had this beautiful voice. I remember last year seeing him performing Nessum Dorma at the Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony and it was so powerful it brought me to tears. I hope he now rests in peace. (I wonder if Celine knows about this. She sang with him before and said he was an amazing person. If she found out, I think she would feel great sympathy, as do we.) It's amazing how long he lived after being diagnosed. As I mentioned in another post, his love for life, his family and singing kept him determined to stay alive.
