Anyone Stayed At Luxor?

I'm finally coming to Vegas next month to see Celine... But I can't decide which hotel to stay in. My boyfriend really wants to stay at Luxor, but looking on the map of The Strip it looks quite a way from Ceasars Palace. Does anyone know how long it would take to walk from Luxor to Ceasars Palace (just a rough idea)? I want my boyfriend to enjoy Vegas too, but I don't want to stay too far from Celine!!!!!!!

it's a very long way! In order to get to the strip, you need to take the monarail to excalibar, than walk down the strip. However, it'll probably be easier if you go to the excalibar, cross over to the New york hotel, than over to MGM and take the monarail. It's a LOT of walking; believe me. I just came home on Friday from Las Vegas. Good luck.

I could try: MGM, Bellagio, Ceasar's, Flamingo, Bally's... they are close.

Yes it is a long walk. But part of the fun in vegas is walking from hotel to hotel in my opnion. No matter what your going to be doing lots of walking.I have stayed in the luxor many times. If i may I suggest the tower room over the pyrmid.I also suggest no matter what room u book ask for a room that is high up and facing the strip. The luxor has some great views of the strip.I hope this helps.Enjoy the trip and good luck.

it's a good walk from luxor to ceasars.. but it is neat to see the scenery of vegas. i've stayed at luxor twice and was happy with my stay both times. If you do stay there, get a room in the towers.. the pyramid rooms are affordable and ok.. but the tower rooms are newly reonvated and very nice! Walking from luxor to celine is cool, because the bellagio is in between and you can stop and watch a fountain show on your way... anyway have a good trip! What dates are you going?

I would give a guesstimate of about 30-45 mintues (probably closer to 40-45) to walk from Luxor to CP, it's an enjoyable walk once or twice, but beyond that it could be a pain. The Deuce is great, however it gets VERY busy at night. If I were you, I'd try to stay closer!

I'm a twin mommy just like Celine!

Sophia and Anthony arrived on December 28, 2010

i was able to order monorail tickets online. I got a one day pass for 9.00... this is unlimited 24 hour access to the monarail. This was well worth it from going to one part of the strip to another. We used it a lot during our trip. Good luck!

Haha! It's not far at all! It's about 2km. I guess if you're used to driving everywhere, then yer, it is far...

Depends how fit you are! It took us about 40-45 mins to walk from the Excalibur (which is next door). The problem isn't when you're on your way out but when it's time to go back. You're tired and all you want is your bed. My advice: stay in a more centrally situated hotel :)

I would say opt for Ballys or Treasure Island. I've always had great customer service at these two hotels.

Robert and I recently returned from a trip to see Celine and we stayed at Ballys. We stayed in a mini suite for very cheap! The grand total after taxes was only $250. Keep in mind we got a good view of The Strip, a sunken tub, a nice shower, two sinks, a beday (sp?) - not that we used it - LOL, a nice seating/entertaining area, etc. Also, this was for Labor Day weekend. And on top of that $250 is the average lowest price for the cheapest room at Caesars and Bellagio. Ballys is also just diagonally across from Caesars. Only about a 5 minute walk.

If you go for Treasure Island you can get premium seating for the pirate show in front of the hotel. You won't have to worry about staking out a spot 30-60 mins. prior to the showing. You also have a mini tram that connects to the Mirage. And then you'd only have to walk to The Forum Shops and then you'd be at The Colosseum. Again, like Ballys it's only about a 5 minute walk. Maybe 10 minutes if you miss the tram when you walk up to the loading area. (They come by each stop about every 5 minutes.)

So yeah, go for Ballys or Treasure Island. LOL

I agree with Joe. The walk from Luxor is a pretty long walk and if you do the monorail, it seems like it takes you forever to get to a stop, because of walking thru all the casinos. I like TI quite a bit, good place and very close to CP. I have stayed at Luxor before and it is a nice place. We stayed in the pyramid...I think its a bit funny, because walking over to look out the window, your head hits the wall before your feet do (because of the slanted design of the wall.

All of the promises broken..

And all of the songs left unsung...

Seem so far away as I make my way back to you.

You gave me faith and you gave me a world to believe in

Thanks for all your replies guys... I really appreciate it. I've had a word with my boyfriend tonight and he really wants to stay at Luxor. So I guess it's gonna have to be Luxor!!!!! Or I'll never hear the end of it!!!!!!!!

Maybe a taxi to CP would be the best idea????? That would only take 10 mins I guess!!!!!!

That's what we did when we went a few weeks ago. We stayed at the Tropicana which is a little closer than the Luxor but still farther than we felt like walking. The best thing is that the taxis take you right to the door. It took about 15 minutes by taxi if they take you the back way. The strip is usually very busy around show time so all of our cab drivers knew the back ways. We took a bus back from Caesars to the hotel. There are always several buses lined up waiting after the show lets out and the bus is really cheap. That way worked good for us. :thumbsup2:
