A New Day...with Céline Dion

Las Vegas is infamous for its extravagant shows, dazzling night-life, and nocturnal atmosphere, and now, for the final year, it remains the home for one of the greatest female voices of our time, Céline Dion. After performing at numerous concert venues, awards shows, and the like, Céline was ecstatic at the opportunity to perform her music with a theatrical presentation accompanying her magnificent voice. Born in Charlemagne, a small town near Montreal and the youngest of 14 children, Céline has grown up to be an international sensation. The show, created by the innovative mind of Franco Dragone, has brought to the stage visual realms that can only be imagined through a dream-like state. A New Day... is performed in the elaborate Greco-Roman inspired Coliseum at Caesar's Palace Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The Coliseum, which seats 4,000 excited Céline Dion fans, was specially developed for this particular show. No matter where spectators are seated, Céline can be seen from every spot, and her booming voice is heard echoing throughout the theater.

The show encompasses a vast array of creative collaborations, combining elements of theater, drama, dance, and of course, song. The artists who perform with Céline have painstakingly worked at perfecting stunning choreographies, have mastered the challenges of physical and aerial training and percussion, and have taken intensive training workshops to perfect their vocal talents, which were held in Belgium and Las Vegas. As Céline sings the songs which made her famous, the audience is whisked away to a different world. With each song a different visual experience manifests in the mind of the spectator. A large LED screen was used to capture the technological marvels that create the backdrop of Céline's performance. The images take the audience on a trip around the world, starting at elaborate antique temples overlooking starry sky-scrapes and then whisking off to European walkways and great city town squares. In one night the audience sees more than just a show; they experience an adventure with Céline as their musical guide.

Experiencing Céline perform live, the audience learns that she is much more than a performer; she really connects with her fans. From the moment she entered onto the stage to the very last ballad, Céline made a personal connection with the audience. She was very humble and down to earth, as she continuously thanked her fans for attending her performance and for supporting her gift throughout the years. Her outgoing but tender personality shined through each one of her passionate performances, and that personal touch made the audience fall more in love with her voice and with Céline the woman, mother, wife, daughter, sister and human being.

A New Day...is an experience every Céline Dion fan should not miss. Even if you are not a fan, seeing the performance will make you one instantly. As a fan of Céline's, her transcending voice once again took me into a realm where only dreams are made. Accompanied by her elaborate special effects, I was visually taken into a mystical realm where reality became a dream and the dream become reality, one from which I did not want to awaken. Blessed with an amazing gift from a higher being, Céline's voice is the purest form of vocal gold.

Opening night for the show was on March 25, 2003. Now, on its final year running, and after over 500 performances, if you have yet to see Céline live, then make your ticket reservations now. This is one show you don't want to miss.
