What Celine songs do you hear on the radio?

In my area the only soft rock station in the past played BYLM, MHWGO, IDAN, TTWIS and her holiday songs during the Christmas season. I rarely listen to the radio like many here. Nowadays Céline's music is popular on the Delilah(sp?) show in the late evening.

I hear her music played quite often in supermarkets, pharmacies and clothing stores.I was shocked to hear, 'If Walls Could Talk' a few weeks ago

Yeah...you'll get some Celine in clothing depts...and on adult radio. But that's about it.

Sarah Kennedy (BBC Radio 2) played a snippet of You & I when it was announced that Hilary Clinton was going to be using it for her election campaign. Apart from that, as others from the UK have already said, Celine never gets any airtime over here.

 

Interestingly (well it was to me), this morning Radio 2 played "Alone" by Heart and Tina Turner's version of RDMH. I can't help but think/wonder if all the news about Celine's Vegas show and new English album have got folk rummaging around looking for the "original" songs

The Sao Paulo city where I live in Brazil is the most important Brazilian one. We also get some Celine in clothing depts... Once, a famous Brazilian radio station played Je Ne Vous Oublie Pas; it did when On Ne Change pas was released... It reached the top ten...

Radio stations play : I'm Alive and I Drove All Night alot. MHWGO, TPOL, IACBTMN, BYLM, ANDHC, JNVOP, PQTME are some of the other tracks that are played in the radio stations from time to time.

 

Clubs play: IDAN (I go like... YAY!!), Treat Her Like A Lady, I'm Alive (remixes), To Love You More (Tony Moran remix is a fav. in the clubs in the metros of India)

 

Taxis/Cabs play: IDAN, IA, MHWGO etc. Once I took a cab from the airport to my Hotel in Mumbai and the cab driver was playing PQTME (trust me, listening to a French song in India is like seeing a polar bear in the Sahara)... I blinked like ten times as I couldn't believe what I was hearing

 

 

With the new album coming out in 3 months time, I am sure the radio stations here are gonna play a lot more Celine songs

I mostly listen to R&B and Hip Hop Radio... so you KNOW they don't play Céline music. But that could all change in a couple of months with the release of her new album!!! YEAH!!!

AND I actually flipped to a Top 40 station the other day on my way to the post office and they were playing The Power of Love! Occassionally they play Because You Loved Me, too.

Here in Slovenia on Radio Ekspres there are inserts few times a day called 'DIVAS' where they are playing only songs of divas. And MOST played are CELINE, Cher & Tina Turner. Celine is presented by A New Day Has Come(it looks like this song has become a classic here ). I haven't heard Mariah yet. Other songs played are/were:

I'm Alive(great success)

I Drove All Night - radio edit & remix (quite well received)

One Heart (they discover that song after 1 YEAR . but it was &still is played sometimes)

You & I (summer hit)- but not as much played as i would like to! cool song!

That's The Way It Is (still can hear but not as much as in '99/'00)(that song will always be special to me)

My Heart Will go On (classic hit - synonym for Celine Dion)

From time to time you can hear:

- The Power Of Love, Think Twice, Beauty And The Beast, It's All Coming Back To Me Now, Because You Loved Me, All By Myself, The Reason, Immortality, Tell Him, I Hate You Then I love You, I'm Your Angel & The Prayer.

The French songs are JUST:

- Pour Que Tu M'aimes Encore, Vole, Je Sais Pas & J'attendais.

Oh, I forgot - I Believe In You with Il Divo (superb song)

Those are the songs that I've heard on various radios through the years here in Slovenia.

I still don't get it what happened with the beautiful Goodbye's The Saddest Word??!! No spins, nor video promotion!!! SO SAD
