tativale Posted August 21, 2007 at 09:23 PM Posted August 21, 2007 at 09:23 PM I bought a new computer 3 months ago, HP a6040br. The audio card is causing me so many problems. It's a realtek high definition audio. Often it doesn't work - I have no sound on my pc. I always could figure out how to fix it and this last time it lasted longer. But today there is no sound on my pc. If I plug my microphone I can hear it but no sounds come out from my pc. This time I tried so many things. I re-install the driver, I restore the system going back in time when I had sound. But nothing seems to be working. I contacted hp help online and the guy told me to do the backup and restore the computer for the fabric configuration. I think it's an absurd and I do believe it won't work since I do remember that I installed the software - even though he kept saying that all pc's come with all the drivers installed. Anyway... I'm not in the mood for that, I don't want to do it (backup + restore the system for its fabric configuration) because I think my pc is to new to do that and also I'm afraid it won't work based on things I read about realtek + all the things I experienced with this problem. Does anyone know what I should do? My system is Vista home basic. tativale Posted August 22, 2007 at 12:31 AM Author Posted August 22, 2007 at 12:31 AM The card sound is Realtek ALC88.I'm going crazy here.... heheh The thing is that HP now doesn't send the cd's to install the drivers, teh system etc. I have to restore the computer for its fabric configuration, so that's why I don't know very well the model, I know it's a realtek.
