Gambling in Vegas

I didn't know where to put this topic, so if someone has to move it then go ahead...

 

Who will be there in Nov/Dec? I would like to meet up with some Celine fans to go into some casinos with. I am nervous about going by myself. I want to do a little playing around while in Vegas, and I know there is always slot machines, but what about poker and other card games? Are they easy to learn? I am around people who know how to play poker very well, and I'm going to get them to teach me, but do you suggest someone new at poker to play at the casinos? I'm kinda scared. I don't want to loose all my money, and I've heard that it is very addicting, and that's how people get in trouble. I know you should put aside a certain amount of money and once that is gone, stop then. Are the winning chances good on slot machines? I mean, I'd be happy even if I won $100!

I would be too scared because the people who play at the tables are professionals, and they'd rinse me of all my cash! When I go back, I'm just going to stick to the slot machines - if my mom lets me!

The first time I was in Vegas I stuck $1 in a slot machine in Caesars Palace and won $50. I very quickly stopped whilst I was ahead but it can be dangerous!

The same happened to me - except I put in $1 and ended with $100.

It was one of the Poker machines at a Carribean style bar somewhere.

 

If you wanna play poker I'd say rather play on the machines.

The guys that play at the tables are professionals and have big money. I was scared just watching them play There is usually a minimum bet of about $500. Me no likey likey

 

It's a good idea to have a certain amount to play with and stop when it's gone.

On the other side of the coin - you could also stop once you've WON a certain amount

I know! I'm so sad, because my mom has to be back at work by a certain date...she accepted some new postion at her job, and so my vacay plans are screwed! I was going to go to Cali too while out west, but now that isn't happening either! But I'll be in Vegas from November 28th through December 5th. I guess thats ok...I wish I had someone to go gambling with! Even if it was just little bit of money for fun!

Whenever I play the slots I use what I call "The Bucket Method". Say you put put in a dollar and you win $5. You take 4 of the five dollars and put that in your pocket and then put one dollar back in again. This is so you actually SAVE your winnings. It really works for me . The most I`ve won was $90 on a nickel slot in Atlantic City. I put in a nickel and there it was! I was pretty psyched.

I only played blackjack and 1 time on a machine (at the airport! hahaha) and I lost erm 50 dollars... I think... but I played blackjack for a loooong time though! I kept thinking, if I win 120 dollars, then I'll buy the bathrobe, but it wasn't ment to be!

Yea, Diana...I was tore up about it...I had just found out when I posted that post. I don't know though...I still want to go to Cali, I mean, if I'm going to be out that way for that many days, maybe we could just rent a car for one day, and go out there. I cried when my mom told me she had to come back early!

After seeing one of Celine's shows, I was playing a slot machine in Caesars and I won about five hundred dollars only playing one quarter! Like most people I kept playing for fun with some of my winnings but I cashed out and used the winnings to pay for a good portion of my hotel bill.
