Sending a response to another post about this topic got me thinking again of the depression that sinks in after a Celine trip and having to explain it again to someone open my eyes to a few new facts about this phenomena. So I will attempt to explain it again. If anyone has anything to add to this, please do.

Sad and depressed? Yes. It happens every time many of us see Celine. After the show you are happy but at the same time, very sad because you have to leave her presence, maybe to never see her live again.

What happens at Celine's show is that she makes a tremendous connection inside of you when you experience it close up. I have seen the show many times and have sat in the front row and been 6 feet away from her. I have also sat in the 2nd. and 3rd. and 4th. rows as well. Something incredible happens as she sing her first notes. You become mesmerized by her talent and then her beauty as she steps into the light. But, when that connection breaks, and the show is over, WOW! you want it back like nothing else but realize very quickly you can't have it back unless you see her again. Thus the addiction begins.

Curious. It will be interesting to find out if the strength of the Celine mania is weaker the further back you view the show. I have tickets for the last two shows, one is in a TC section near the control booth and the other non-TC ticket on the last day is in the lower balcony. That will be the furtherest I have been from her. Will I still feel the effects? Time will tell.

I have never met Celine but in many ways I am thankful that I have not. I would really miss her then. There is something (je ne sais quoi) about Celine that is extraordinary. The way she is able to reach inside each of us and stir up such emotion and then the loss of that emotion brings forth such depression and sadness. Not to long lived thank god, but long enough to motivate you to the box office again.

See you all there in December! :thumbsup2:

I couldn`t have said it better my self Keny! I have only seen Celine twice and September will be my third and final time . This past time when I went in April I sat in Orch 6 front row, and to a fan thats kinda far away. After sitting in Orch 4 Row CC the first time last year, I felt like I kind of missed her even more when the show was over than the first time because I yearned for her to notice me. The next day when my friend and I were walking around the strip I was reminded of Celine everywhere...it was like torture. Almost every other store in the in the Bellagio was playing Celine, and I kept seeing the shuttle with Celine`s face on it. It was crazy. I was totally depressed. In September its going to be incredibly hard since it`ll be my last time until she does a US tour. Ugh just thinking about it makes me upset :(. I totally wish I was going in September.

I agree with you, Keny.

The first time I saw Céline live was in Edinburgh in July 1999 and I have NEVER felt so depressed in my life as I did the day after that show. I think a lot of it was to do with the fact that she'd cancelled many shows because of René's illness and it was always on my mind that she might cancel Edinburgh.

I've been lucky to see A New Day... 7 times, and am going to Vegas in September to see the show a further 3 times. I don't know what I'm going to feel like, because I can't go back in December. I guess it'll be bitter-sweet, but I definitely think that the closer you are to her, the harder it hits you. I've sat in 1st mezzanine twice and you don't connect with Céline in the same way as you do in Orch 4. My final visit to the show will be on Saturday 29 September in Orch 4, Row EE. I have a feeling I'll be really depressed the next day - just as well we're flying home that day!

Aww you sat in Orch 4 row CC? That is where my seat is for November 29th!! Did you love it? :w00t: I'll be very depressed when I come home too, especially knowing that most everyone on here, will be there after me, for the final shows.

The farthest i have ever sat was ORCH 4 KK when i went standby on April 14th. I was depressed!!!!! Even BB seems too far away and nothing makes me happy as an AA seat. I can't even imagine how it will be when i sit in MM for the final show...

Don't get me started on live performances. Celine's mezmerizing already in videos. I can't imagine what a live performance would be like. :o

I was able to see her 10 times over the past 5 years. After every trip I would feel depressed for all the same reasons as you mentioned. It's so amazing seeing the person you admire most close up, that you just can't get enough of it. To be able to look THE Céline Dion in the eye is a feeling like no other. Especially if you're one of the lucky ones in the first few rows, & interact with her quite a bit. I always try to tell myself, "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." I realize how lucky I am to have seen her at all, some people will go through life and never have the opportunity. As my final show this past June began, I became so sad... this was probably the last time I would see her perform on this stage, in this show. But at the end she gave the rose to someone in the 10th row, and on her way back down, she took my hand into hers... stopped, blew kisses, and said, "Love you!" I don't know if you would categorize that as meeting her, but it may be the closest I ever come. I was overjoyed afterwards, I couldn't have imagined a better way for my final show to end. Although I miss Céline and try to think of any way possible I could return once more, I am not depressed... I know how lucky I've been, and am thankful for everything!

OMG so glad other people feel this too - I cried the entire day after I saw her in Vegas, even in public! I'm not sure if I was already a bit depressed because of the pill I was on but I had been riding high on the excitement of seeing her, then suddenly it was gone, I had to fly home over the atlantic and that was that. I have literally never felt so down. It sounds stupid for outsiders to hear but it's true that when we admire someone so damn much and put so many of our emotions into that person, we kind of use them as a crutch and when they're taken away, we fall down. Everyone has a connection like that with something. And it's true it's addicitive, i still have withdrawl symptoms 7 months later and NEED to see her again!

Oh f*** can't believe she was in Edinburgh in 99!

I totally will be like that! I already know it, and I'm just praying I don't cry so hard when I do finally get in there that I can't even see the show for all my tears! Then I'd be pissed even more! I hope she does something like that for me when I'm there...I'll be front and center, 3rd row back, isle seat...Oh I wish...Maybe if my face looks like ground beef, she'll make some sort of acknowledgement...lol B)

Caesars Palace is a hotel, and yes, you can stay there where Celine performs. It's a bit costly, but worth it from what I've heard. As far as the front row seats go, those are few and far between to get now. You MIGHT be able to get them from a Scalper for alot of money, but be careful that they are legit, and not fake. If you were able to get tickets up close still, they are about $350 USD per seat, of coarse thats with taxes too. That is how much mine was. I bought mine from Ticketmaster through Team Celine. Hope this helps! :msn-wink:

Kim is right about Scalper tickets. For this June 30th i lucked out on AA301 just 5 days before the concert on ticketmaster. at the same time there was a scalper claiming to have AA301 as well. And AA302. And he was bold enough to claim that his AA301 was legit when i bought mine off TM. even though i was tempted to get AA302 for my daughter, i didn't. That seat was empty at the show.

I saw her for the first time during LTAL tour in Munich. It was so overwhelming. I wept when she was singing MHWGO. People around me though i have gone mad. I remember my first AND in Sep of 2004. The high lasted over a month. These days my high ends pretty much an hour after the show. It is depressing. And no when i go it feels like the show is 5 minutes long. I am so paranoid the last show will end with a blink of an eye. But thanks to the DVD all of us will be able to relive it many many times.

if someone wants to help me, please PM me please. thanks :)

Wow, that is scary stuff! Hey, Diana...will your daughter or fiance be at the Nov 29th show with you?

Yeah, munchkin and I will be sitting in ORCH 4 AA409 and 410 and my fiance in ORch 4 CC.

I wonder if he is sitting close to me? I'm CC 401?

I am not sure but i think it was either 408 or 407.

Ahhh ok, gotcha...maybe you guys could show us a good place to eat that night? Something not TOOOO expensive, but yet still yummy!

Yeah, we are still on:):):)

Great, can't wait! What's the name of some good places around there? I'm a picky eater...I only like American, Italian, and Mexican food...and SOME Japanese...I know, closed minded..lol
