Ain't gonna look the other way

Although I hate it when they recycle old stuff, I think this song would be a good fit for the new album. I really think this is the new direction best suited for Celine rather than RnB (and what Rene considers a more "rock" sound). It has always been said than Celine can sing anything, but the least convincing genre that Celine has tackled in my opinion is RnB. AGLTOW was again one of those missed opportunities to release something fresh for the masses. Instead we got the dumb You and I (accompanied by another dumb video)!

Does anyone remember Samantha Mumba??? I was having coffee a few days ago and the next thing I knew i was humming along to a song i didn't quite recognise till the chorus kicked in when i realised it was 'Ain't gonna look the other way' sung by samantha mumba it was AWFUL!!!!

I heard somewhere that Celine recorded an English and Itialian verison of "La Diva" so the english verison might end up on the album. Also "I knew I loved you" will be on it as well. Also the duet with Annie Lennox that will apear on her album in August might be on Celine's album as well. So no not a completely new album. Though the album may have never released songs Celine co-wrote herself like "Drop by Drop","isabella" and "over you baby". I would love to hear more songs that Celine had a hand in writing!

I think they should release a single right now and see how it does, that way if it flops they'll have ample time to make some critical changes. The Backstreet Boys did the same thing with their comeback album. They promised their fans that if the first single didn't soar then they would be forced not to release the album at all...and they weren't joking.

Second of all, I completely agree... i wanted AGLTOW to be released in the worst possible way...i love YOU AND I..the video was dumb although she looked phenomenal in it...I honestly don't think IKILY will be on the album...there was an article in ELLE magazine that talked about who Celine would be teaming up with and it really doesn't fit. But I agree with you that the sound Celine should go for is that like AGLTOW...but I would love also to hear her with a few hot guitar chords behind her and make it a little more edgy ala YOUR LIGHT (my favorite upbeat Celine song ever)

I totally adore Your Light, it's sooo different. She sings much lower than usual and the lyrics are just

great. I missed that Elle Mag article, I read it was the July issue but I couldn't find it unless it wasn't

released in the US.

I have literally just come back from a restaurant, and they were playing this song. I don't know if it was Samantha Mumba, or someone else, but it was terrible. I didn't know what song it was at first, but I was humming along to it too before I realized it wasn't Céline.

I agree that this song should have been a single. Although, I do love "You And I." Personally I believe that there should have been three singles from the live album. "You And I" as the first, followed by "Ain't Gonna Look The Other Way," and then the final single being the live cut of "I Surrender" (which should have been on the damn album!).

 

As for recycling the song on the next album, I'd have to say no. I'd rather see "Let Your Heart Decide" get recycled before "Ain't Gonna Look The Other Way."

In haven't heard the AGLTOW but i know it's a nice song. But when You And I was released, i thought it will become a hit song. But i think, because the album wasn't advertised and promoted well and Celine Dion is still busy in Las Vegas, it really didn't become a hit. I think, almost all people around me doesn't know about the song unless the person is really a fan of Celine Dion

Let's not forget that if they put any song on the new album, it should be the duet with Elvis. That was a huge hit on American Idol and on the net as well. I think Rene had even mentioned that there was a possibility of that song being on there.

 

To those that say that LYHD should be on the album, I agree, I think it would make a great first single, it has a catchy sound and almost reminds me of Kelly Clarkson's "Breakaway" which was a HUGE hit.

Yes, AGLTOW was way much better than You and I. Although the latter is catchy and all AGLTOW was a cool rock ballad and could have reached wider audiences perhaps... with a cool video. The video for You and I was boring although Celine looked gorgeous in it.
