Lets see which one (D'elles included) satisfied the expectations we had for it before its release, for example Miracle might not be your favorite, but given that it would be about babies anyway, did you like the result?

First of all D'Elles...without any doubt! I also vote for ONCP because for me it was a very good Best Of with news songs, a lot of "old" song and a GREAT GREAT presentation (drawing, "art" etc..)

First of all D'Elles...without any doubt! I also vote for ONCP because for me it was a very good Best Of with news songs, a lot of "old" song and a GREAT GREAT presentation (drawing, "art" etc..)

Hmmm well if you're talking about working out the concept to the fullest... I'd have to say MIRACLE!

 

Baby songs, baby photos, baby René-Charles... Céline being a baby again because of all the babies! they poop, they pee, they make a mess... but still everything, from the photos to the songs are top nodge! I mean what else is there to say? :w00t:

true! :flowers: ...but it had maaaany covers , including songs she's already recorded (without recording new versions ofc) which kinda sucked + The first time i saw your face is a love song rly (the first time ever i kissed your mouth says at some point, well maybe Celine kisses RC on the lips dunno :P) Edited by amelie

true... I'll post here what I posted in the other thread... Miracle has some pure gems; My Precious One and In Some Small Way! :wub: And Brahms Lullaby finally got a place it deserves! not a x-mas album Only TFTEISYF and TP I could have done without!

 

 

but still.... I think... in words of expectations and concept album... that Miracle did 95% justice!

hehe i just read the other thread :doh: and yes i think it is a very good try too ;)

 

now ANDHC and OH don't have a particular concept but more like a goal...so that's what you have to take under consideration (that's not really answering to you davey, more like an addition to complete my thoughts about this topic :P )

The songs on that Album are just amazing...

The songs are so diverse From "Im Alive", to Right in Front of You, to personal Favorites, I Surrender and Aun EXiste Amore...That Album forfiled me

D'elles, which is one of the very best albums ever!! :wub: :in_love:

 

 

I remember ANDHC was a horrible deception (except ANDHC song itself), but with time I fell in love with some of the songs.

1 Fille & 4 Types, Miracle and D´elles. I loved 1F&4T, with the brilliant lyrics, Miracle was exactly what they said it would be and though it didn´t have bombastick songs on it, in its own way, it was a great album. D´elles was more than I expected it to be =D Edited by Un Rêve

D'elles. I don't remember being so exited about other releases...and when I got the album, it was everything and more.

 

Though I have to say that Miracle as a concept album was a success...it was everything I expected. ^_^

D'Elles and A new day has come! D'Elles because, well it's just everything I hoped for in a new Celine french album and A new day has come mainly because of I surrender, but the whole album was nice and fresh after her RC break!! :yes:

Okay, I think D'elles is number one for sure, and I also voted for A New Day Has Come, just because I love it... hehe... oh! well, it also showed the "new" Celine to the world... I guess... :shrug:

ANDHC worked so well because it took what Celine showed the world with TTWIS and expanded on it. It showed them that Celine could do fun, upbeat stuff in addition to the power ballads. I think it helped her pick up where she left off, and it did it in a way that didn't feel too calculated (like One Heart).

 

Plus ANDHC is my favorite Celine song ever.

I voted D'elles and One Heart.

 

With D'elles I am still finding tracks to fall in love with. Her best French language album IMO, so well produced with no real mediocre songs.

 

I was so surprised when One Heart was announced, some people dismiss this album as rushed and it was.

Yet without the recycled tracks and adding a few new ones it could have been one of her best.

Again Sony are to blame for rushing this album out with not quite enough new material and at a time when Celine was far too busy to promote it worldwide.

In my opinion, 3 of them got the concept right: A new day has come, 1 fille & 4 types, and D'Elles.

 

A new day has come was such a special cd for me cause I had thought I would never see Céline singing again when she took her break, and as I was either too young or less informed by internet as I am today, I had thought it was not only a break! i remember buying the cd and being so happy that evryone asked me why I was like that, and I just answered "Celine is back" The concept of this album is also wonderful, like showing the upgrades you do in your life and how things change!

 

1 fille & 4 types was an album that I bought only 3 years ago, because it was really difficult to find it, and when I found, I discovered I didn't have enough money for that. So when I was finally able to get it in my hands and listened to it, I was amazed. I didn't understand very much of French by that time, but I just knew the songs were wonderful! And the fact that JJG was one of the guys in it made feel like I could fly everytime I listened to the cd.

 

D'Elles is wonderful!! I feel like the songs have been written to expresse how i feel inside, many times in such a contraditory way, like Femme comme chacune and then Je ne suis pas celle. I somehow feel all the songs in me, and I believe many women feel the same!

It's misleading including newely released albums in this kind of polls, cuz now everyone is in a D'elles rush and will click on anything that says D'elles, that word amongst Céline fans is sacred at the moment as if they've been hypntoised with it.

 

Perhaps I should buy a few mugs at Ikea and write D'elles on them and perhapssome key rings and write D'elles on them too and sell them all for $10 each and make a furtune out of it - omg I've become Team Celine!!! :ermm:

 

As for the only album which "fulfilled" any expectations it must have been A New Day Has Come, because it came so fast no one had the time to get any expectations. Besides ESNRQ was the strongest track on D'elles and since we got that track first and the tracks with the same kind of quality aren't that many on the album, D'elles did not fulfill many expactations. It's an ok album. It is not bad, but there aren't many tracks which can compare to ESNRQ. Céline fans have a tendensy to yell at everything which is new to be the best, and if it's French it's even better.
