American Idol Auditions!

Well I decided that I`m going to try out for American Idol again! You know what they say...three times the charm . Its not until Aug 27th...so I have like 2 months to prepare, but I have NO idea what to sing or wear! Anyone have any ideas?? And PLEASE don`t say Celine, because everyone and thier Uncle sings her music and it`s like murder on the spot. I need a song that will stand out you know?

Krys I`ll have to up them later, I`m at work. The first two times I slept outside for like two days all to sing for one minute and then the judge said "Thank You" and that`s it! Ugh. The first time I was really crushed. The second time I was disappointed, but ok. This year, I`m older, my voice has matured a little and I think I have more confidence too. We`ll seee!

I always wanted to be in one of these contests, but Idols here is just for people over 18. I'm 17...

And the other point is that the judges hate any foreign music. It's ridiculous, because I don't like brazilian music! Who knows later I can move to USA to try

"B*tch" is one of the coolest songs out there, I love the atitude.

Hey Kat! I just loved your voice! It's the kind of voice I like to listen to! About a song... That's really difficult to choose one but I don't know... I remembered Sarah Mclachlan when I heard you... Maybe a song of hers would fit nice in your voice... I'll think it over and if I remember something I tell you ok?

Yeah I was thinking about that, but it might be too mainstream and I don`t want people to think I`m like Katherine McPhee (she performed one of her songs last year) I`ll try it though!

And singing something new might be refreshing and give them some sort of idea of how you would sound in today's music world. Plus KT is not necessarily known for her voice, which is good because you can sing it and not automatically be compared to her.

 

Maybe you could do a 30 second clip of some of the songs you were considering, or some of the songs people suggested and then we can see which one sounds best?

I wouldnt recommend doing a Heart song. Ann's voice is legendary. The judges were even apprehensive about Carrie singing a song of theirs.

Yeah, Tal`s right. I LOVE heart...but her voice is just insanely good. Thanks for the suggestion though...I`ll add it to my "audition list" to put on here though. I`ll sing these songs acapella because A I don`t have the backing tracks for them and B I have to sing them acapella in the audition anyway.

I didn't watch that season so it's good to know Heart isn't a good choice.

 

Kathy, watch this video and listen to what Simon said especially at the end..This isn't Britain but I think he will be looking for something unique in an individual on AI. I remember when this guy won. Again, good luck!

Thanks Helen . I haven`t forgotten about the little clips either, I had some family stuff I had to do last weekend so I`ll work on it this week.
