B-sides Why so few?

When the new english album is released I'd like to see some unreleased tracks on the new singles. For years all we got was recycled tracks from Celine's previous albums with the odd surprise like " I met an angel on Christmas day" from the TTWIS single in 99.

 

Yet there were tracks like "Love me blind" , "cry just a little" and "can live with you, can't live without you" on some of her early 90s singles.

 

I want to see some unreleased tracks put out this way rather than tacked onto a live album like AND...LILV.

 

I bet many fans no longer even buy her singles because of this constant re-using of tracks.

I doubt you'll see any singles at all, unless they're imports. Because of things like itunes the market for singles is pretty much dead. Most of the singles that do get released are usually remix ones.

that's something I don't get... period! Although I love collecting her singles... I can't stop being jealous about other singers like Bon Jovi, Alanis Morrisette... they usually have rare live recordings on their singles!

 

You can bet your @$$ that the new single will feature MHWGO live in Paris, ABM or maybe they'll be crazy and put ANDHC or IA on it... nothing inspirational or anything! I love when there are remixes, but that isn't very often too... As you said the only B-songs where Love me blind, Cry Just A Little, CLWY,ICLWY... now there's also Send Me A Lover (PQTME single), A because of you & You shook me all night long (GTSW single), BYLM live (CTM single) and well I can't think of anymoooooooooore It wouldn't hurt if they put some live performances or unreleased studio tracks onto her singles. Céline has neglected this issue too much!

 

But I think, and I'm 99,99999% sure about it, that it all has to do with copyrights and money

Well she's only done that with (on cd) PQTME, EJTAE, JNVOP and ESNRQ.... where are the instrumentals for the other 10 french singles that were released?

yea thats because Madonna is in control and make that happen. Celine doesnt give a rat's behind about any of that. thats the part i wish she would particpate in more in her career instead of just saying that she trusts Sony with it..

 

well so they better do it right for the forth coming english singles!!

unfortunately and regrettfully nothing will change because Sony doesn't focus their energy on analyzing Celine's market or fanbase. It would have to come from Celine herself and unfortunately she has no interest in it. she never did, and especially now with RC, any chance of that happening is gone forever.

I'd rather have remixes! What's the use of instrumentals? with remixes you at least have céline's voice, and with some luck some additional vocals!

But if it was about money why don't they think that if they put unreleased or rare live recordings or remixes on the singles more fans would surely buy it?

sure... Celine is by faaaar my favourite arstist - buuuuut - her singles s*ck biiig time! I love Anastacia's Singles! on every of her four singles from her selftitled album is an unreleased track. and they are wonderful - I can't understanbd why they were leftovers - Underground Army from the Heavy On My Heart single is one of my fav songs from her. or madonna - History on the Jump-single is almost as catchy as Hung Up.

My favourite song from Faith Hill is also a leftover from her Cry -album ... it's called Wicked and was on the leadsingle.

 

So what's the matter with them? I can live with instrumentals for the french singles (so we can make an acappella-track of it and I can reeeeemix! ) but where are the remixes=?? I loved the ANDHC-mixes... they all were brilliant! and I could have lived without the whole OH-album... as long as all these new songs were released on singles:

Isso é realmente engraçado. Celine nao possui muitos B-sides, mas em compensaçao varias musicas delas se tornam ineditas em diferentes regioes do mundo onde algumas musicas dos albums sao ausentes. Pro exemplo, aqui para o Brasil o cd Falling into you nao veio com a musica Your light, o album Lets talk about love nao veio com Wheres the love ou would i know enfim....enquanto que para outras regioes essas musicas sairam normalmente nos albums. Esse lance de gravadora escolhendo as musicas é um saco, algo totalmente comercial...

havia muitas versões de FIY. lá estava umas versões diferentes para muitos países que algumas das canções eram......... Natural Woman , Fly. E os LTAL, lá eram muitas versões. Em Canadá , Brazil, a canção espanhola (amor do EL do haciendo) era incluída. Em América, era a escolha de... To Love you more.

Personally, I'll be happy if she doesn't release any rare tracks on singles because that's less time I have to spend trying find all the tracks I don't have on the album. I just want ONE album with lots of tracks on it. Is that too much to ask?

The best thing would be is if Celine would compile all the best unreleased songs and make it as one album and title it as "Unreleased songs, released" That way, we'll all be able to have a copy of the unreleased songs in one album.

i think because Celine / Rene wants the publish right from the writers so that's why that there's so few of them.. but i maybe wrong..

Celine is not the one neglecting this stuff is the recording company. Actually in one of the documentaries from On Ne Change Pas, there was one part when someone show her the CD that looks like an LP, she didn't care about it she just take a quick look and that's it, it think Rene is the one that takes care about this things.

I surely don't want unreleased material as B-sides to her singles cos singles are not released here in India and I won't get it

 

But speaking about the B-sides, the only B-side song that I REALLY love is All Because Of You. Not that the other B-side songs were bad or something, its just that I only have one single of hers GTSW and that too I had to get it all the way from the UK

 

So I would be quite happy if remixes or some other old songs of hers are released. Hehe..I know so many of you are gonna hate me for being so selfish...but.. am a Celinedefined

There are soooooooo many song to release... but I don't think that Sony (or the responsible) would do it.

But, it's true... I miss the great singles/maxis with instrumentals, remixes and rare/live songs. Oh!
