I agree with Celine not being hot and current enough... but I doubt it'll be Shakira or Tina. If Amy drops out (which I THINK shes recording the song right now by what Ive seen in pics), I would think they'd go for a newbie like Sara B. or Natasha Beddingfiels or, my preference, Kylie

Amy Winehouse is not doing the Bond theme now. It was reported on cnn.com as well as other places that she's not doing well enough right now to write and record a song.

 

I would NOT like Celine to do this or ANY movie song for at least another 3 decades. The Bond song would end up being a huge hit and that she would continue to be "that woman who sings slow songs from movies" (Beauty and the Beast, When I Fall In Love, Because You Love Me, My Heart Will Go On)

NO. Just... NO. I don't want her to be objectified as an artist who went from the top of her tree down to doing cameos (or even starring roles) in mainstream franchise films like the Bond films - if she was a Bond girl, you know she'd have to have sex with him. That's what happens with all the Bond girls. She'd be the strong, confident, sexy woman, have smart, cynical banter with Bond and "hate" him, until they're forced to work together and then after one day of undercover work they return to the hotel room for a night of unexpected passion.

 

And suddenly all that Céline is known, respected, and loved for goes flying out the window and the media will forever tag the once Titanic singer as "The Ship Who Shagged Bond."

 

It might've been okay for Halle Berry, who already had a stellar acting career, and who could go back to more respectable gigs. But Céline is a musician, a performer, a soul. If she's going to ACT, I want her to act on HER terms.
