Timbaland on Celine: “Celine has such a beautiful, mesmerizing voice. She is so talented, I would love to work with her. I think we could create something that is a classic like she already is.”

 

R. Kelly on Celine: “I am an absolute, wouldn’t be embarrassed, chase-down-the-bus fan. Her voice is, like, not human. She’s so unique, you know her voice from a million miles away – from the first second you hear it. I think a gift from God like that is the coolest thing in the world.”

 

Celine Dion on her music: “I do not feel like I have to be tough and sing something soooo cool. I like that people go and listen to my music when they feel lonely, or they need to be comforted, or they’re lost, or they need a friend, or they need somebody to hold on to. I want to be suitable for their lives.”

 

On her son, Rene-Charles: “My son listens to heavy metal already. Ten Thousand Fists. I should probably listen to those lyrics.”

 

On whether she’ll ever modernize her music: “You know when you listen to what’s being played on the radio? I don’t think I would be capable of doing that. I have to remain who I am. If I came [to her Vegas show] every night for the past five years and they still come, I think there is still a place for me to keep singing what I’m singing.

 

On what she’s listening to: “Diva, from Annie Lennox, that’s my favorite album. From song one to the last, when I listen to it, I think it’s me. I can see myself onstage, wearing a short little-boy outfit, singing those songs. I have the whole scenario worked out. The show is already done.”
