I understand what you mean and I know you have the right to feel this way but times change. People change. Celine has to grow and follow the genre. Dont get me wrong I love to hear that voice belt notes in ballads but thats not really in right now. She still does release a few of those ballads here and there for us fans but we have to understand that she needs to expand and try new things as an artist. It's the way the music biz is. Plus the reason we love those ballads is because we started loving her in the 90's. If she came out now as a new artist with those songs nobody would give her the time of day Edited June 14, 2007 at 06:29 PM by Davar Quote

celinerific Posted June 14, 2007 at 10:36 PM Posted June 14, 2007 at 10:36 PM I love the current Celine... But I understand where you're getting at. Her 90s period was a big breakthrough for her and the ballads were great. But things change... the music industry has changed a lot and people want more modern music these days. That's what she's trying to do... But of course, we all know that she will never abandon her beautiful sappy ballads. We'll get to see two sides of Celine... the upbeat and modern one and of course, the one we're all familiar with. Don't worry. I'm sure you'll like what you see/hear... I know I do. blue.grave Posted June 14, 2007 at 10:43 PM Posted June 14, 2007 at 10:43 PM One thing I must add to this is that Celine is the very best when it comes to love songs and belids. But she must change and adapt to any thing that comes her way. Or else she will end up not making any sells on her music. Besides if Celine keeps on doing the same thing. It would get rather boring real fast. Quote For the joy of life, My passion for video gaming, and my Love for Celine Dion.

Davar Posted June 15, 2007 at 04:27 PM Posted June 15, 2007 at 04:27 PM Ceine has also said herself that she doesnt want to sing just ballads. She likes to have fun with her music. I'm sure now more then ever since she doesnt have the vocal routine she once had. I myself am actually enjoying celine now and if I was in her shoes I would not want the routine she once had. When I think about how she used to not speak for days and not eat certain foods and laugh certain ways. How can you blaim her? What a boring way to live. Sorry went off topic. LMAO. Anyways I like hearing new things from her. Plus she still has the best voice in the biz even on a bad day plus her voice is in the best shape its been in years. I dont care if I went off topic again. ITS FRIDAY Quote

Shaun Posted June 15, 2007 at 07:01 PM Posted June 15, 2007 at 07:01 PM Expecting Celine to remain the same is just ridiculous and I won't apologise for saying that. We all have our opinions on when Celine was at her best and we all have our thoughts about what she should be doing or how she should look etc but the whole point of being a pop star is you evolve over time and stay up with the current trends and that's what Celine is doing to stay relevant. I applaud her for doing so. I love the fact that one day we get something like "I Knew I Loved You" and then a few months later we see her doing things like "A Cause." That's how we know we're following a world wide superstar, because she can get away with doing that and can get away with change. Well done Celine! I have to say i agree, and i happen to love where Céline is taking her music, i grew up in the 90's so this kind of fresh approach in the noughty's works with how i'm changing as a person. However saying that, if Céline produced an album of aria's for the recorder aimed at those who practise walking on fire ...............i'd still buy it Quote Instagram: @feidhlimb

I think more so in the USA styles have changed so much it has pushed Céline further out of the mainstream and it seems like she has too embraced that a bit? Either way I like everything before FIY more than what came afterwards (English music-wise) because I preffered her more rock sound than the softer "easy listening" style. Either way I like everything before FIY more than what came afterwards (English music-wise) because I preffered her more rock sound than the softer "easy listening" style. Of course all of Celine's albums throughtout the 90's were "modern" but the point is if she was to release something like "Let's Talk About Love" these days it would be universally ignored so she has to update her sound to the current trends and that's exactly what she's doing. So it's a good thing that she tried "I'm Alive" and then "I Drove All Night" but, in my opinion, it's pointless releasing "I'm Alive" if it's going to be followed by "Goodbyes' The Saddest Word" and it's even more ridiculous releasing "Have You Ever Been In Love" after "I Drove All Night." These should provide clear examples of Celine updating her sound then undoing the work by releasing songs that would've been at home on "Let's Talk About Love." Yentl Anchel Posted June 17, 2007 at 01:21 PM Posted June 17, 2007 at 01:21 PM I became a Céline fan during her famous Ballad period, but I think it is good that Céline is not only releasing Ballads at the moment. Don't get me wrong I love the ballads but the intrest of music has changed the past few years. And if you stick to the old kind most ppl will not buy your CDs. the whole music industry is like on its knees these days so every artist tries to go with he flow and try to sell albums. Céline is no diffrent at this point. I think she did well to put in easy listing in the albums. Don't get me wrong I still Love the ballads songs, and she will not stop recording and releasing them, look at D'elles there are Ballads on it. And I am sure her new English album will have some too but she found a good mix in the albums.. This way she keps everybody happy.. And yeah I prefer ballads too but he uptempo songs are great too and an album with ONLY ballads is no good.. No-one is asking you to apologise for liking her 90's material. I like it too. But I don't expect her to keep making material like that nowadays. I'm realistic enough to realise she has to change to remain relevant. Filine Posted June 17, 2007 at 06:04 PM Posted June 17, 2007 at 06:04 PM I loved the nineties stuff and I love her still... She put herself out there in the nineties, right now there's no more pressure... and I love love love it that she has come such a looong way and that she's still totally herself. She wasn't changed in that world. She's still Céline. I am so happy that she is ok, that she's the happiest person on the planet having her son and that she's still singing for us and that she still loves it! That's all I ever want for her. When I listen to her older albums the change in her is so obvious. She was still almost a child back then and even if her emotions shone through all along...today I know she's really been there and it's even more profound, in everything she does... I am so proud Quote http://www.celinedion.nl/pics/cindy/bannerza.jpg"They call my home the land of snow, Canadian cold front movin' in"
