Old French Music Video.....

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I was in Montreal a few weeks ago. As my girlfriend and I were preparing to exit the hotel room an old Celine Dion Music Video began to play on the television. I took hold of my love and we danced right there in the hotel room...it was beautiful. I love her (My Girlfriend) and I wish I could remember the name of that track....not sure what it was really saying as I don't speak French, but it was just a perfect tune to dance to.

I was hoping I could find a collection of old Celine Videos online somwhere. I know I would recognize the video. All I do remember is that Celine was very young, I remember a scene where she was laying on her back with her hair spread about...it was a very smooth song.

Any idea where I can find a complete collection of Celine Videos online? Anyone know what the popular music television channels are in Montreal? Whatever channel was tuned played all french hits...

Thank you for your help...this means a lot to me!!

That's oh so romantic. Sometimes, we don't really have to know the lyrics of the song, especially if Celine Dion is the one who's singing it 'cos when Celine sings , she feels for the song that even if we don't understand the ltyrics, we feel the love. Not to mention Celine Dion really has a very beautiful voice.

Oh Gosh...I don't know...

I remember I really liked the video..it seemed very artistic and full of symbolism...of course, I really wasn't concentrating on the tube at that moment.

What were you thinking it could have been?

I sure wish I could figure this out!

the only videos I can think of are Je t'aime encore where Celine might look a bit younger (there is a french and english version just so you know, both with the same name) or the older L'amour existe encore. I cant think of a french video where she is laying on her back. The two I mentioned she has rather short hair, infact many of her french videos are with shorter hair. Perhaps Et s'il n'en restait qu'une, but that is one of her latest videos, and I wouldnt describe it as a smooth song.

Im guessing the one that bellamy suggested was Des mots qui sonnent. It is a song with a more soft-rock influence.

You might want to try celinedion.com

Joe, I've been trying to view this video for two days! I'm on the east coast....the thing just sits at the loading screen. I have a friend in California and it loads without a problem out there! Any ideas?

Well, I found Je danse ma tête and that is most certainly the one that played just before the music video that I am looking for...so I am amazed. Thank You, Joe! You certainly know your stuff.

As for Pour que tu m'aimes encore, there is a good possibility that is the one. I am trying to remember how it felt. I am very sensory so I usually can pin point the emotion that I was feeling the last time I heard something.

Thanks to everyone who responded!!!! You are all true fans!!! Celine is really something, isn't she? I was only in high school when she sang, My Heart Will Go On....that's a real tear jerker....ehh? As are so many of her tracks. Has she ever done any of her own songwriting?

Finally, anyone know what the names of the MTV type cable channels in Quebec? I'm sure they are all probably owned by MTV or some other massive corporation. The one that was on Television was playing all French hits.

Thanks everyone....if you have any thoughts on the track I am looking for, please let me know!

Celine has done very little song writting. Her first songs (in french) she cowrote with her mother and one of her siblings I believe. In the mid-late 90s she cowrote two songs, Treat her like a lady for her Lets talk about love album, and Dont save it all for christmas day for her christmas album. And more recently she wrote a french song Tout pres du bonheur.

I have some older French music videos on my site, but I can't think of which one you might be looking for. Is it one from the On Ne Change Pas DVD? Those are the ones I mainly have on my site that are older actual "videos", unless you're looking for a live performance, then I truly haven't a clue which one it could be. Regardless, the address for my site is below. Hope it helps you! :bye1:

I think these music marathons usually play the hits in order.

So im betting that what you saw was Ziggy after Je Danse Dans Ma Tete. No she doesn't lay down in the video but she does bend her head backwards a lot
