I know this (1) because if you listen closely you can hear her and (2) if you saw the 08-MAY delle's advert, at the end of it, you can watch and hear her recording a part of it unnacompanied (for like 2 secs) Is it possible to separate Celine singing it and the background (opera singer). As in, can we hear just celine sing the last part and ending to the song? I'm dying to hear what she sounds like doing the notes/immitating the opera singer! ANY HELP WITH THIS is so much appreciated. I assumed someone with experience of computer/sound technology or anyone with appropriate software, or ANYONE who thinks they can help, please do!! It cannot be done easily by removing Callas' layer because frankly, there isn't one. The only way to do it is if the the orchestra music, Callas' voice, and Celine's voice were all on different sound wave layers. I'm sure it can be done, but it takes patience. I think that the point was exactly NOT to do so, because at Maria Callas' time there were no CDs and the fact that the beginning is like listening to an old LP just creates the atmosphere. It doesn't takes anything from the song but it gives a nostalgic feeling. Quote

brasilero Posted June 1, 2007 at 06:26 AM Posted June 1, 2007 at 06:26 AM (edited) to separate Celine's voice you must have the exact voice print of Callas's voice. well our work is already done for us. in the d'elles tv special Celine did not sing the last part of the song and only Callas's voice was used, (they separated it, or better yet used the portion of Callas' voice before they remixed it. ), so there you have it. we now just have to match the voice print of Callas (taken from the d'elles special ) to that on the cd. identify the voice pattern and frequency and remove it. the rest is Celine's voice. it seems Celine was singing in a higher octave than Callas. it could be a lil pain staking proces but it can be done, not anyless than copyng and pasting elvis in american idol . i'll start doing it now with my Reason software ) wish me luck Edited June 1, 2007 at 06:31 AM by brasilero Quote

It belongs to EMI Classics. The orchestra playing is the prague philharmonic, but I dont know if they are the ones playing on the Celine track or the Callas track. Quote

Reason is a good software but i cant use all the tools it has. Do any of you have other software. how about froot loops. Quote
