how many foreign language versions of Celine's songs have you heard?

Just wondering that is anybody like to collect the foreign language cover versions from Celine's song?

Just wanna share some thoughs about this because I'm making a collection of foreign language covers from Celine's songs...

 

Well, Here's some versions I've heard:

 

Weil mein Herz Dich nie mehr vergisst - german version of MHWGO by Vicky Leadros. Actually, I don't like this version -- the arrangement of this version is quite weird and Vicky Leandros's voice has no power...

 

Il Mio Cuore Va - Italian versio Of MHWGO. There're two cover versions of it. One by Sarah Brightman and one is by Italian pop singer Tina Zanotto. Both are quite good. Especially Tina Zanatto's version.

 

Porque me amaste - Spanish version of BYLM by Suzann Rye. I think Suzann Rye really did a good vocal! Pretty good as Italian version of Annalisa Minetti...

 

Koibito Yo~To Love You More~ - Japanese version of TLYM, performed by a japanese singer Miho Yonemitsu.

The version is slightly different from Celine's, but also arranged by Kryzler & Kompany.

Actualy...I think it's the worst version of this cover...

 

Si Tu Eres Mi Hombre - Spanish version of TPOL by Angela Carrasco. Her version is much closer to jeniifer Rush's version...not bad.

I heard "Meo Immortal", the portugueis version of Inmortaltiy... I cant remeber the autor, but I know is a Brasilian Christian Group.

 

Beauty and the Beast has a spanish version... I know becouse i saw the movie.... but I cant remember who did it :ermm:

There's a Punjabi version of "The Power of Love" in the movie "Bend It Like Beckham" :giggle: :giggle:

 

and... if you watch different international versions of "Quest for Camelot," you will hear different versions of "The Prayer." ^_^

A dutch singer Gordon had his biggest hit with Omdat ik zo van je hou (because I love you so much)... from PQTME it's not bad, but nooooooooooo comparison to the orginal! ^_^

 

And another dutch singer/tv hoost/comedian Paul de Leeuw recorded 'K Wacht Op Jou (I wait for you) from of course... J'attendais! not bad either... but see above ;) :P I really hope that if céline comes to Holland for promotion, she comes to his show! he's so funny and caotic! Last time Micheal Bublé was there and the was like wtf is this kind of mess.. but he really enjoyed it! they even sang a duet together! lol

I've heard Polish version of All By Myself sung by Kasia Kowalska. Tittle is "Mniejsze Zło". It's mean"Smaller Evil", so it isn't translation of words this song, but music is the same.

lol..There's a Finnish version of My Heart Will Go On by Finnish 'Il Divo' :mdr:

 

..and..I think there're more Finnish versions, I will do some research and post the songs here. :laugh:

There's actually another Finnish version of MHWGO too, recorded by Maria Lund in 1998. I haven't heard this version, however, I only know that it exists. To add on the list, I have Finnish versions of Ziggy and Les uns contre les autres, recorded by Anneli Sari in late 90s, but I'm not sure if these were influenced by Céline in any way.

To add on the list, I have Finnish versions of Ziggy and Les uns contre les autres, recorded by Anneli Sari in late 90s, but I'm not sure if these were influenced by Céline in any way.

I know, it's called "uskon sydämen totuuteen", I have the song somewhere.

Oh yeah...I forgot Anneli Sari songs.. :D

Ok, I've also heard "Innamorata Di Te", the Italian version of TPOL by Tina Zanotto(who also sings Italian version of MHWGO). I like her voices.... ^_^

The name of the song is in fact "Imortal", and it's sung by Sandy e Junior, a famous brazilian couple. They are brother and sister and they've made many Céline covers!

 

Let me see if I remember:

 

- Immortality - Imortal

- Uncle Sam - Tio Sam

- My heart will go on - Em cada sonho

 

Not Sandy e Junior:

 

- To love you more - (I can't remember the name of the song in Portuguese) João Paulo e Daniel are the singers

 

There are more but I can't recall right now... :hmm:

There was a woman who ones won a competition here i Norway.

It was called "stjerner i sikte" ("Stars in sight" in english) and the contestants sang a song from their favourite artist and the winner would get a single released with that song.

 

I think her name was Toril Moe and she sang all by myself.

She also recorded the song in norwegian which was callen "aleina her"

(or something like that I can't remember cos I such a long time ago)

which directly translated would be "alone here".

 

She was quite a good sing, I mean she sang in the right pitch,

but she had faaaaaar from the powerful voice that Celine has!

Yes....It's true...Just as Beauty and the beast....has different internation versions....But I like the french version by Patrick Fiori and Julie Zenatti most...They did a good job!
