celines_girl Posted April 26, 2007 at 03:13 AM Posted April 26, 2007 at 03:13 AM I thought we should have a topic to discuss the other performances of the night. Discuss your favorites and what you liked. I think this is going to be one of my favorite concerts next to World Childrens Day. Josh Groban was flawless. The stories are so sad. Clari Posted April 26, 2007 at 05:19 PM Posted April 26, 2007 at 05:19 PM (edited) Other than Celine, Josh was amazing! The kids were too cote! Kelly was great too ! I loved Carrie's rendition of "I'll Stand By You"! I bought it on iTunes last night. They cut Gwen Stefani... the stories were so sad..... :'( The results 'shocker' and build up was so lame... Jordin is in the top three. Edited April 26, 2007 at 05:33 PM by Clari Quote http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v226/CelineSmiles/hamster.gif CLARiSSA Xxx... "Music touches every sense. DianaLuts Posted April 26, 2007 at 06:55 PM Posted April 26, 2007 at 06:55 PM I think overall the whole show was BOOOORING (except for Celine) when it came to musical acts. it was sad to hear the stories. my favorite besides Celine was probably Carrie. Quote
celine_rules Posted April 26, 2007 at 07:51 PM Posted April 26, 2007 at 07:51 PM I think Josh was the best. He looked so happy while he was singing. Quote http://www.eseats.com/images/spotlight/vegas.jpg
Celinenvegas Posted April 26, 2007 at 08:12 PM Posted April 26, 2007 at 08:12 PM I think Josh was the best. He looked so happy while he was singing. Josh was good, always sounds good....but, he did one of his older hits and I was a bit bored. Celine could've done Love Can Move Mountains but she did something different & exciting. Quote ~J O E Y~
Tal Posted April 26, 2007 at 09:44 PM Posted April 26, 2007 at 09:44 PM I cried the whole time. Its easy to not think about whats happening in Africa, but then you see something like this and it reminds you of the devestation going on there. I donated as well and bought Celine and Elvis on iTunes. Josh....too freaking cute. Vocally he was ok, but when the kids hugged him at the end....it was just too cute!! Annie was great, Kelly was great as well. Carrie did a great job too. Il Divo was ok. The smarmy one (Carlos) was extra smarmy last night and I was a little put off by him, lol. I think it was a great idea. AI gets such high ratings, and the cause was definitely a great one to bring to the masses. winforlife Posted April 26, 2007 at 10:02 PM Posted April 26, 2007 at 10:02 PM I give AI a big thumbs up for the evening big event. I always get choked up watching the devastation in Africa and the poverty that persists in the US. I taped Josh Groban's performance , Annie Lennox and Kelly Clarkson-she sounded amazing!! OF course watching Céline and Elvis sing gave me goose bumps. What a stellar performance by Céline Quote http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v119/LKlafter1/1367035680_small.jpg
firebird Posted April 27, 2007 at 12:00 AM Posted April 27, 2007 at 12:00 AM I couldn't see it on TV, but I've watched some of the performances on the net. I saw Il Divo again raped Barbra's song Annie Lennox : She really made the best out of that snoozefest of a song. Beautiful interpretation and music.Kelly Clarkson : For that I don't like her that much I have to admit her performance was good. Love the songJosh Groban : He's so cute (yes, and the song was good too ) Haven't seen whatever the rest was, but the Céline/Elvis duet certainly was the best among them. Quote
DianaLuts Posted April 27, 2007 at 01:50 PM Posted April 27, 2007 at 01:50 PM I think Josh was the best. He looked so happy while he was singing. RDMH could have blown everyone's socks off Quote
Melody Posted April 28, 2007 at 04:23 AM Posted April 28, 2007 at 04:23 AM I think Annie Lenox was best, after Celine of course. So was that Elvis's real voice computer generated, and the 'Elvis guy' lip-syncing? Or was it just an impersonator all together? Cheerfuljane Posted April 29, 2007 at 10:00 PM Posted April 29, 2007 at 10:00 PM I finally got to see the whole show today.I cried then dried my tears then cried then dried my tears then cried....... Josh was Celine was double Quote
nano Posted May 6, 2007 at 05:25 PM Posted May 6, 2007 at 05:25 PM I'm watching the show on Finnish tv...Josh was amazing, and I loved Kelly...oh and Annie. Quote "Today, I’m a person on a path of connecting with my source and understanding that I am on the leading edge of creation.."
nano Posted May 7, 2007 at 03:38 PM Posted May 7, 2007 at 03:38 PM I've been listening to this song non-stop.. for me this is Kelly's best performance ever.... Cheerfuljane Posted May 7, 2007 at 05:08 PM Posted May 7, 2007 at 05:08 PM You're right Anu. It was unbelievable Quote
Salla Posted May 7, 2007 at 08:27 PM Posted May 7, 2007 at 08:27 PM I pretty much cried through the whole thing. I just wanted to adopt all those kids. (and channel surfed, cause Finland's game was on at the same time. lol) I LOVED Annie and Kelly. And I thought the Jack Black thing and Ben Stiller bit were funny, though I pretty much just cried through those as well. Quote
LVCeline Posted May 8, 2007 at 01:47 AM Posted May 8, 2007 at 01:47 AM What in hell us up with the freakin EYEBROW on Mr. Italiano? That is the stupidest think I've ever seen...Il Divo is like nails on chalkboard, and his expressions make me want to scream. Josh has sounded better vocally... I liked Annie Lennox's performance. I also liked Kelly although she looked wretched in that mumu of a dress. She sounded pretty good and obviously put a lot of feeling into it. Carrie's song was good, but honestly that song in it's original form is untouchable to me. It's beyond perfect the way it is, and it sounded too stripped down. All the dramatic arrangement in the original makes it awesome, and it felt a bit dry. That horrible song Quincy Jones made up was so awful. God it was the epitome of cheese. The guys does a few good songs in his life (actually what has he done?) and all of a sudden he can turn coal into diamonds with any song? That song sucked and it was ridiculously cheesy and awful. Reminds me of a washed up record producer like Clive Davis who claims Whitney is the best singer on the earth, when the deaf old man obviously can't hear the fact that she sounds like she's had her vocal cords ripped out of her throat and she's using the hanging ligaments to produce sound.
