smw Posted April 23, 2007 at 05:29 AM Posted April 23, 2007 at 05:29 AM Back in the day, Celine Dion and Rosie O'Donnell seemed to be great friends and big supporters of each other. Did Celine ever go on Rosie's show after her two year break? I know Celine came back before Rosie went off the air. Also, have they done anything together in the past couple of years? I wonder if Celine will go on The View??? I miss the days of Rosie O'Donnell's talk show and Celine Dion ruling the charts! Anyway, just wondering if they still keep in contact. Here's an interview on the Rosie show in 1999! Quote
Love, Posted April 23, 2007 at 06:39 AM Posted April 23, 2007 at 06:39 AM (edited) I am wishing for Celine to appear one of these days on "The View."I have a feeling that during the dawn of the release of Celine's next English album, there is going to be a flood of media exposure for Celine, with appearances on many, many television shows. I REALLY do hope that many shows on TV will devote their entire show to Celine... I know Oprah will! Yup, that was when The View girls when to Vegas for a week of shows. Celine performed outside of Caesars Palace, she did "My Heart Will Go On". She looked fantastic!! Rosie is friends with soooo many people and makes everyone things she's BEST friends with them all but in that biz it's hard for them to all see each other and hang out a lot as normal friends do. They are all so busy with their careers that there is little time for that until they are directly working together. I'm sure Celine will do The View again when she has something to promote. I don't know how much US press she'll do for the D'elles cd though, I don't really think she did much for the French hits cd here in the US. Quote ~J O E Y~

smw Posted April 23, 2007 at 04:32 PM Author Posted April 23, 2007 at 04:32 PM Just to clarify, Rosie chose to leave her show in 2002, it wasn't cancelled. She was even offered a one hundred million dollar contract to stay on the air. And I think The View takes a lot of crap. Yes, there was a time when it was just a womanly chat fest--but it's not so much like that anymore. Rosie was the perfect addition, Barbara is so much more laid back, Joan is still a *CENSORED*. I could care less if that little blonde one left, though. But I guess she adds sex appeal??? Anyway, Celine has got to go on all the big shows...and I don't know if all them will dedicate the entire hour, but I'm sure Oprah will, and I bet Ellen, Regis and Kelly, and the View will dedicate half the show to her! I miss Rosie's OWN talk show. She's good on The View but sometimes they all talk at the same time and it gets on my nerves. Rosie does bring a lot to the show and Joy just cracks me up all the time. I don't think they'd give 1/2 the show to Celine but just the usual segment. It's rare that someone does more than 1 song on that show - same for Regis. Quote ~J O E Y~

I don' think ti would be as successful as before though, she showed another side of her that many ppl have not taken a liking to. I loved Rosie to death when she had her own show, but since she has been on the view she has surprised me in many ways wither her attitude...especially when she accused the one and only Kelly Ripa of something that was just outrageous. But on the other hand, I would love to see Rosie and Celine reunite. Koolan Posted April 25, 2007 at 08:31 PM Posted April 25, 2007 at 08:31 PM Rosie is leaving The View when her contract expires in mid-June of this year. smw Posted April 25, 2007 at 08:35 PM Author Posted April 25, 2007 at 08:35 PM I heard about her leaving The View this morning. Good and bad news. Bad news for the show--good news for Rosie. She brought in a fresh life to that show, and it may sink without her within the next couple of years, unless they bring in someone else! I agree that Rosie is not the same person she was when she had her own show. Well, she's the same person--but more outspoken and honest. She obviously held back her opinions back in the day, and now she says exactly what she thinks--which is something not a lot of us can say. Regardless, I know Celine and Rosie admire each other! Celinenvegas Posted April 25, 2007 at 08:38 PM Posted April 25, 2007 at 08:38 PM I just think Rosie has gotten more involved in politics and what is happening in the US and the world and it's not a bright future - so of course she's emotional and I think her honestly is coming off as mean to people who don't like what she is saying. I love listening to her, she's funny quite often, and I agree with most of her political views - esp on the gay issues. Quote ~J O E Y~

She looked at Rosie like she didn't even know what a boxset is. I'm glad Rosie joined 'The View.' She's an advocate for everything that is wrong with the US and her opinions are damn right. I admire her courage. It's sad that she won't be renewing her contract...the show's ratings are going to plummet without her. stevethefan Posted May 24, 2007 at 09:42 PM Posted May 24, 2007 at 09:42 PM I think that at the end of the year when the English album comes out and the LV show begins to wrap up you will see Celine on a lot of shows like "The View", "Oprah" and I'm sure some of the late night TV shows. I think she will do a lot of promotion for the album and we will all benefit from that. Quote
