If the answer is the first alternative what is the reason for this? I have come to recognize some members whose posts I read most often by their member names. Simply because this is the only way for me to do so. A very few number of people have photos of themselves as avatars, most have pics of celeberties or haven't choosen a display image, and even when a member uses pictures of themselves they sometimes change them and a person can look very different from one photo to another, so obviously this isn't a good way to identify members. So I identify them by their member name - wierd phenonomen, eh? So if a person can change their names as they please, what's the point in having member names? Only admins can make the change, there isn't a set rule on when and how frequent a member can request it to be done. This is the first time anyone have brought this up LOL. Personally, for the most part, I can tell who is who by their posting style, not necessarily by their avatar, personal photo, signature.
