Davey84 Posted April 10, 2007 at 03:28 PM Posted April 10, 2007 at 03:28 PM Others denounce it as a sham. Last year, alt-country diva Neko Case told Pitchfork Media she can't take performers who use it seriously, knocking Celine Dion, Madonna and Shania Twain in the process. I do not believe for one moment that Céline uses Auto Tune in live concerts! Not even in the studio! Using that would mean breaking down everything she stands for! firebird Posted April 10, 2007 at 07:13 PM Author Posted April 10, 2007 at 07:13 PM Well, I have to disappoint you, but Celine does use it in studio. Look at the liner notes of her latest albums, every time you see the words "Pro Tool" written there you know she used it No idea if she uses it live, though ... Quote
Céline's Blues Posted April 10, 2007 at 07:25 PM Posted April 10, 2007 at 07:25 PM Céline said herself she did use Auto Tune and surely still does... I do appreciate her honesty, tho. She said she only used that for streightening the note on ABM when she sang it live when her voice wasn't in good shape. She said she needed only to hold a relatively calm strainless note and the technician would bring it on point. Quote http://i.imgur.com/dmreJ.jpg
celinerific Posted April 11, 2007 at 12:57 AM Posted April 11, 2007 at 12:57 AM Auto tune isn't a terrible, terrible thing. Besides, there's not much of a difference. Quote http://i58.tinypic.com/2qbub9c.png @ErikaTran | Insta: aireexwp | erikatran.com
stevethefan Posted April 21, 2007 at 02:14 AM Posted April 21, 2007 at 02:14 AM That's an interesting article. I know that Pro-tools is used in a lot of recording studios nowadays, since it makes it easy to edit a song or correct a "sour" note. I guess Auto-tune is similar but used more when singing live.At first I was against it but the fact is people are so used to "perfect" recordings and when they shell out a lot of money to go to a concert they do not want to be disappointed. I can see why artists would use it. That's why if you listen to albums pre- Pro-Tools you were probably hearing how people could REALLY sing or not. Quote
Love, Posted April 21, 2007 at 08:26 AM Posted April 21, 2007 at 08:26 AM Auto-tune can only do so much...I mean, listen to Paris Hilton... they probably had to make a new version of AutoTune just to handle her, and she still sounds like a booed-out karaoke singer. Quote

I think it's ok when they use it as an effect, and when it's very obvious sounding like on Cher's "Believe" and some other songs. I remember when that song came out there were a lot of other artists using that sound. It became a gimmick. With today's recording technology it's easy to make almost anyone sound good, at least on a recording. We know Celine can sing great, even with or without this stuff so I don't mind if she uses it. nico robin Posted April 22, 2007 at 12:49 AM Posted April 22, 2007 at 12:49 AM i don't think using that is bad...Celine sings amazing without that and ke know so is not a problem Auto-tune can only do so much...I mean, listen to Paris Hilton... they probably had to make a new version of AutoTune just to handle her, and she still sounds like a booed-out karaoke singer.LOL Quote http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-WTOLnq_3hiM/T-YMZXaW9JI/AAAAAAAACR4/bCmTbbqNEhY/s400/Celine+Dion+-+Signature+Commercial+Behind+The+Scenes+(23612)+%5BHD%5D.mp4_snapshot_00.20_%5B2012.06.22_00.44.23%5D.jpgI dOn'T sUfFer FrOm InSaNiTy...I eNjOy EvErY MiNuTe Of iT... kathyc25 Posted May 4, 2007 at 04:37 PM Posted May 4, 2007 at 04:37 PM (edited) Guys there`s nothing wrong with using auto-tune. It dosn`t mean that Celine has a bad voice or anything at all. I`m sure the sound engineers use it to tune a few notes here and there and to get the best sound as well. Pro-Tools is a fantastic software program that mixes different audio tracks together such as vocals and instrumental tracks. I`m trying to get it for some of my projects too . I'm sure some singers use it to fake that they can sing live, just like Mariah Carey when she try to hit a high note. Look at her to 02:25 until 02:30 on this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JtSg0Su-Ia8 Quote
