for insulting His Majesty

Pursuant to a fortyfour-second video violating His Majesty King Bhimibol Adulyadej of Thailand,

the current world longest serving monarch, posted on the popular international video sharing web site

YouTube (www.youtube.com) on 25 March B.E. 2550 (2007).

 

Its author-under a Username “Paddidda” whom resides in United States of America

in accordance with his profile on the web site-has intended to mock and make false charges

on His Majesty by and with editing, altering, painting, adding the royal portraits with indecencies,

with the national anthem as soundtrack through the clip.

For example, a pair of feet has been put on His Majesty' head.

 

Mr. Sitthichai Phokhaiyaudom, Minister of Information and Communication Technology,

with some of the Thai People have made submissions to Google Corporation Limited,

owner of the web site, by electronic mails and letters requesting the web site

to delete the video but this was in vain.

 

The Corporation entertained no view on obscenity of the clip and stated that

it was a right of expression, moreover, there were many video clips mocking

President of the United States but the American people contain no anxiousness,

Thai requests have been therefore rejected.

 

The Minister has hereby ordered blocking of access to the web site in the Kingdom

as of 3 April B.E. 2550 (2007), by the virtue of Order by the Council for

Democratic Reform No. 5/2549 on information technology control of

Ministry of Information and Communication Technology dated 20 September B.E. 2549 (2006).

On 5 April B.E. 2550 (2007), the video clip has been removed by the author as appeared on the site.

 

But later many clips insulting His Majesty appeared on the web site as for daring the law.

Incidentally, during the block of YouTube within the Kingdom,

there was a false charge on His Majesty the King posted on the web site by

a foreigner with username “SantaMonica72”.

A charge damned His Majesty and Her Royal Highness Princess Mother,

and the Thai people were vilified idiotic. In this case, having apparently found

on his profile that this 51 year-of-age foreigner is dwelling in Thailand.

It is manifest that how much the Thai people love their King,

unpredictable in the histories of any nation that the King is cordially called “Father” by his people.

 

As for examples, on the occasion of visitation to Changwat Trat by His Majesty

King Chulalongkorn (100 years ago) after the province was returned to Thailand by

a Treaty with France, the Trat people were with a supreme pleasure

as they told His Majesty that it was like a lost child has met his father again,

His Majesty has then delivered a speech that “We will be your father forever and ever”.

 

And in the present reign, once Their Majesties the King and Queen have

presided over the awarding ceremony at Changwat Yala, there were two sudden sounds of bomb

among the people leading to the running to and fro in front of a royal pavilion,

but-within a short second-the people have com back, at the end of ceremony,

there was an old lady spent her information to Theirs Majesties that

“Don’t you angry. The bombs were banged, I took fright, and then started to run.

But, during my fleeing, I was thinking that you were there,

so I have come back to be with you. If any accident would be occurred, we will die with you”.

 

The royal obligations through the reign have gained so much of

various public prosperities that His Majesty has extremely performed them

on the duty of public shelter-as he has been appointed as the King by every section

of the Thai people (this is called an appointment by public opinion).

There is hereby a motto “Thailand gets its heroic King not just in a tale”.

It was ensured that the foreigner never understood in the reason of

a vast love that Thai people dedicated to His Majesty the King.

 

As there was no any king-like His Majesty-whom has went against water, wind and sun

with a purpose to help his people.

There was no any king-like His Majesty-whom has went through hardships

on working for the people even his body was filled by sweat.

There was no any king-like His Majesty-whom has conferred thousands of degree certificates

in a year for the reason that “a student would be delighted right through the year,

but I just took a second on sending”.

 

And there was no any king-like His Majesty-whom has always be

woeful and regretted in a time of altercation and might even got tears of his eyes

in a time of bloodiness.

 

The Thai people, even have no firm faith in divine king,

but we spend our loves to His Majesty as he is a common whom won our hearts

with his merits.

 

As a royal speech reflected that,

“When I was a student in Europe, I have never realised what my country is and

how it connect me. No until I have learnt to love my people when

I took them in my touch, and this reminds me the valuable love as always.

I was not homesick that much, but I have learnt as

I worked here that my place in this world is among my people, the Thai people”.

Some of the statement by the Thai People said that:

 

"We, the Thai people, have been in rampant of deep grieves by the intention

of Paddidda on agitating the Thai people, majority of the people which have seen

that video clip was in froth and foam, resulted in tears of our eyes,

with negligence of Google Corporation Limited and allowance of the clip on its web site

without responsibility, and SantaMonica72 whom was in need of good

understanding about the national history and institutes.

 

"Even there was a statement on allowance of that video clip on

the web site for the reason that it was a right of expression in accordance with

customary practice under democracy. But using a right of expression on

making false charge of the other to the third person, in the case that person

might be damaged, underestimated, insulted or offensive cannot be a right

according to the democratic regime, because it was inexpedient to morality,

conduct, justness and suitableness.

A person with development of age, qualification and ability

should take this case into consideration.

 

"In order for all this, We, the Thai people, could stand on endurance no more.

Be it, by the virtue of Section 3 of Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand (Interim)

Buddhist Era 2549 (2006) and Section 5. of Announcement by

Office of the Prime Minister of Statism No. 2 on prevention of public dangers

dated 3 July B.E. 2482 (1939).

 

"We, the Thai people, hereby condemned a person under username of “Paddidda”

who resides in the United States on violation of His Majesty the King.

Even he contains no American citizenship or nationality,

but his doing has staved off American honours, Royal Thai Government shall

therefore get in touch with American authorities for taking the person to punishment.

 

We, the Thai people, entertain a will on reception of his apology on trampling upon

the Thai heart, and he shall make apology to the United States on his shameful doing,

and shall also crave for His Majesty’s pardon upon his ignorant doing.

 

We, the Thai people, condemned a person under username of “Santa Monica72”

who makes use of the Kingly Protection in Thailand without realisation of His Majesty’s

limitations by made false charges on His Majesty. This person is an ungrateful.

May this person be suffered with death by the protection power of

the White Umbrella of State without delay, and may this person be put on abyss of hell.

 

We, the Thai people, also condemned Google Corporation Limited

which paid no responsibility on the case and profaned the Thai belief with

treading on feeling and hearts of the world mate. It was therefore necessary

to make apology to the Thai people without delay...".

Japan has made submissions to Google to withdraw video clips on

YouTube, campaign videos of Japanese candidate.

But, YouTube refused to follow Japanese requests for the reason

that this was not violated its policies.

Brazil has already blocked youtube too because of a famous artist who was caught in Spain doing things she should do far from other people's view. Soemone filmed it and put it in youtube and on the other day all people talked was about this video. This girls sued google or something in relation to that and we were unable to use youtube for.. 1 day. I don't remember why but they came back in their decision and now we're able to wacth it again...

 

Of course our problem was a little smaller than yours...
